When my girlfriend’s dad was in boot camp one of the Drill instructors told everyone “Whoever wants to hit me go ahead” so this PVT goes and hits him. He said the DI just looked at him with the sharp eye contact and threw one punch knocking the PVT down and out. He (her dad) went to go help him back up when the DI looked at him and said “Don’t even help him let him lay there he’ll wake up sometime”

Brandon Roman our "grim" was the senior drill sergeant. we pissed him off one day, and he did what you said, played coy, acted like it was not going to be met with repercussions. he formed us up to March to chow, told us it was spaghetti day. told us as a reward for our hard work, he is allowing us two servings each, rolls , desert, and all the time we need to eat it. he even tricked is by singing "hey, Josephine" which is his good mood cadence. he walked around the chow hall asking us if it tasted good, and encouraged us to get more food. it was all so surreal. could he really be extra happy with us, even after we f$#@ed up earlier? when chow was over, our bellies were bursting, and the pasta, rolls, and cake were expanding in our guys. he "hey, Josephine"'d our asses away from the chow hall and back to the platoon bay, where he immediately smoked the ever loving s@#t out of us, soldiers vomiting , doing pushups and flutterkicks lying in it , as he screamed at us about how pissed off he was for what we did earlier. and then, vomit soaked and cramped up, he had one of the other drills take us out for a run. when we got back, our barracks were tossed , and the games began anew. this was at benning, d3/32 late 92. ahh, the good times!
@clowncity18 жыл бұрын
bizzarrogeorge Oh no I was at Benning and We knew never eat the cakes or any of that the DS would be sitting at their tables pretending not to look but if you look closely they had always one eye on that area, if we touched it we would have to "burn off" those cals.
@bizzarrogeorge8 жыл бұрын
Brandon Roman we had slightly different rules at the time. All deserts and coffee were off limits until you could score in the 90 percentile on your pt test. I was one of the few in my platoon that did. I still figured it was a mind game so I didn't partake in the rewards until the day I pulled kp. I was with the kitchen staff, and when they told me to break for lunch, I figured, hell, I'm the only sorry sack here, I'm gonna get a cake and coffee. One of the drills from another outfit saw me and was all over my ass. When he asked why and I told him about the 90% thing, he didn't believe it. I told him what unit I was in, who I was, and who my senior drill was. He said he was going to verify this when they got back from the range, and if I'm not telling the truth, I'm in for some sh$t. He went away, I threw the rest of my coffee and half the square piece of cake in the trash, and decided I'm not even going to bother taking advantage of my reward anymore after that.

That sent shivers down my spine. "It's ok Private" I was on sick call and sent to the DFAC instead of morning PT. I was the bigger soldier who was always getting shit for being fat. I understood why. But anyways these other sick call sappers in front of me grabbed cottage cheese and a fruit cup. Forbidden items I stopped even looking at ( I was dropped so many times in line for looking at it previously ) I looked around and ended up grabbing both items. I ate my regular breakfast and then grabbed the bowl of cottage cheese. My senior Drill SGT walks in and stops on a dime. He smiles from ear to ear and walks over to the table. He sat across from me and told me to go ahead and eat it. He smiled with the darkest most sadistic look in his eyes. My stomach was churning and I held back trembling as I ate. When I was about to walk outside he grabbed me by the shoulder and looked me deep in the eyes and told me "It's ok Private" I about shit my pants and I never went to sick call again. Long story short he forgot or got some good pussy and forgave me. Either way I was terrified for the rest of the cycle.

When I went through the Drill Sgt's were putting their campaign hats in some kind of press in between wearings and also put some kind of spray on them. They aimed for the bridge of the nose and it was painful enough that it made your eyes water.

We all know shit runs up hill before it comes back. And P.S. If you're lost to the Bravo Sierra statement... I'm calling Bull Shit on your story. Holes all over it.... Some SSG's and a SFC yanking your ass out of the rack to do PT in the dark is standard operating procedures for a group of screw ups. And, if out of the normal training regimen would have been discussed and approved before hand. Just as we had the Mid-Night club for those individuals who were not physically up to standard. Trust me... They were smoked every night till they were. Edit: Spelling correction.

I just discovered your videos, and I must say, I enjoy them. I wasn't in the Army, Navy for 9 years, but I remember those same type of DI's {SEALS} from when I was in 79 - 87. "Got a loose thread there Recruit? Let me help you." Sumbitch pulled a knife so fast nobody saw where it came from and CUT the offending button off. I swear, guy never even blinked. Also, my instructors from AT were for the most part Nam era Marine Corps vets. If you had THE GUNNY for a Instructor, you walked like a Marine, talked like a Marine, ran like a Marine [HIS Marines didn't walk anywhere, they ran], PT'd like a Marine, and damn well better be able to shoot like a Marine. Sure I qualed in Boot, but still had to re-shoot to his standards. 30 damn degrees in New Jersey and we're out on the rifle range. None of this Microsoft video crap for us. As I said, not an Army combat vet, Beirut Oct 83 for me, but still a vet.

PT Stud or Lady Killer was responsible for getting us into shape so we could slay the ladies. Real Killer, jeezus. This was our Senior and he walked softly, just the look in his eyes would motivate you and in his career he had been blown up 17 times but survived enough to stitch the enemies. Good times.

+wylain somerelia Reddit? That's new. I stopped caring about who accepts it and who doesn't and that's what has been my key to communicate with Veterans that understand. That last one meant a lot to me. Made me happy and hopeful for the command I'd get in the future. But hey I'm in the Nat Guard and most NCOs in my unit don't care much more than the 8 year+ E4s hanging around.

Nighthawk: he came in one night between 1 and 2 am walked along the wall behind the bunks, came up behind me while I was mopping and whispered into my ear. Creepy bastard but ya gotta love them.

You forgot the "I don't even like myself, and I sure as hell hate recruits" guy. This individual was also likely to be stealing the 2 tabs of Vicodin you get after your wisdom teeth are pulled.

Had a DI at MCRD san diego that would walk from the DI hut out of barracks then back in again repeatedly just waiting for someone not to react while on fire watch. Had another that would wait for a damn commercial flight to be taking off from the airport next to the base to tell us what he wanted us to do, but we would never hear shit he said and when it was quiet he would just shout "Move!" to which we responded by frantically doing something wrong. 😂

One that I wish he would have mentioned is the "Midget". The short DS that is like under 5 feet tall (typically these are females) but holy fuck they can bark! I swear they almost always say "ARE YOU THREATENING ME SOLDIER!? YOUR HEIGHT INTIMATES ME! GET ON YOUR KNEES PRIVATE!!!!"

Mandilore The midget I met tried to act tough and take me down in hand to hand training I am 5.11 and that time I weighed in at 250-270 lbs she did not move my ass one inch but the Grim and Killer they layed me the fuck out

There's a guy I know who is currently in the Air National Guard, but he started his military service in the 90s when he got busted transporting drugs, he was given the choice to leave the courtroom with the Army Recruiter or the corrections officer, this dude told me he had a drill sergeant screaming in his face a few days later and didn't like it and tried to physically assert dominance and push the drill sergeant away from him, according to the story after a few minutes with several drill sergeants they never had a problem with him again and he became an outstanding recruit.

I got to say this and I KNOW I'll get shit for this because you know 7 Core Values, and Integrity, but we had a "Nighthawk" who would come up and watch us all directly every night for CQ and Fire Guard. But we also had this one DS who would sleep through the night, EVERY TIME. So being the naive Private's (And 2 Sergeants We Had In Training) we decided to go down and buy soda's and Monster's from the vending machine and never got caught, and from then on we had our "Underground, BCT Trading Ring"

Had a new plt sgt come in while I was in AIT I caught asleep on his desk when I checked in for fire guard. Like, he was dead knocked out face on the table.

Hate to break it to you but 99.9% chance they knew you were doing it and didn't give a fug - actively catching you is more work for overworked Drills for very little return. Catching privates with dip, licky-chewies, & what not pissed us off because they were stupid enough to get caught, not because they broke ther rules. They're failure instantly becomes like five or more hours of smoking Joe, dumping lockers, turning the bays inside out....and since it typically happens later in the cycle "you" just screwed every Drill in that company but one from going home to an actual warm dinner and maybe even enough time for TV show with their ol lady before getting maybe six or seven whole, undisturbed hours of blessed sleep as opposed to the much more usual four or five.

They told us of there experience in the war and some good advice and tips if we found our self in a live combat operations some things that are not part of training ! Never forget them

If I ever join the military, I wanna be the Grim. But I want that added bonus of being a damn ninja or a ghost. I just appear when they're fucking up and scare the shit with a stare. The sergeant that directs you with his eyes. I want the new guys to not even know what I sound like. I just leeeeean in and whisper sweet death into their ears. I could die proud that way.

We had three. The old quiet veteran. The loud short one with little man complex and the huge Aryan who dared anyone to try and fight him. The old guy was the scariest. All he had to do was look at you a certain way and you'd drop on your face. I loved them all.
