Lemmy's voice is ugly af, and I say that as a Motorhead-head. Thats where Motorhead's charm was: A gruff voice that got in your face with great lyrics. I absolutely love that voice, but if compared to Dio/Halford/Dickinson, etc, then I can see how it can be perceived as "ugly".

I personally will take an interesting voice over a technically good one any day; it's all about creating the right kind of music to fit it. Give me Kurt Cobain, Billy Corgan, Jack White, etc over a Mariah Carey or Adam Levine any day. Though rarely you get a mix of unique and technical prowess that is next level; like Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant, or Chris Cornell.

Why you gotta play Axl so dirty and show a clip of him struggling to sing, 30 years past his prime? His voice has died but play stuff from GNR hayday and his range and ability to keep a key and melody is insane. I can still understand if people think his voice is "ugly", even though I love it (my favorite singer after Chris Cornell). But at least show it in its pure form as opposed to an old fat man trying not to lose his breathe. If you want a good example, look up the rare video of them performing Don't Cry acoustically in 1985. No effects, no editing, crappy camera and audio recording; axl goes from subdued low octave to a high pitched and powerful Soprano that overtakes the room even in unfavorable conditions.

Songwriting isn't a talent? Both Manson and Cobain were so good songwriters. And I don't think their voices are bad, they fit their songs. To me the worst singer in all the list is Bob Dylan. And don't get me wrong, I love his songs when it's other one who sings them, to me it's kinda he fucks up his own songs with that speaking instead of singing style.
