For natural supplements that will cure your depression you would need to buy Evening primerose . Take 1 capsule a day with a meal. And for your anxiety attacks. Buy Charlotte’s web CBD gummies. Take 2 gummies and within 3 consecutive days your anxieties would be a thing of the past. It also helps with intrusive thoughts . You would begin to live life again

I have almost reached the end of my tether living with my husband of 36 years who has been suffering with depression over the last little while. The atmosphere at home has got worse over the last few weeks but he has insisted he doesn’t need help, won’t take tablets or go to therapy “how is talking to a stranger going to help?”. Finally, after going to see our family doc regarding something else, she asked if we were sleeping well, etc. I’m shaking my head and finally, finally, he admitted he is having some anxiety issues. What a huge step forward. He has an appointment in a few weeks to discuss his sleeping and how it’s affecting him. I have thought of going to therapy myself to try and find ways to handle it as it is sucking the energy and joy out of everything. Then I looked on KZbin and found you. Thank you!! Thank you for explaining depression, anxiety and other causes in such clear and understandable terms. I have a few select close girlfriends who’ve been supportive to me and non-judgmental about hubby but having medical clarity from this video, I no longer feel like I’m going through this by myself

Sometimes medication isn't a good solution. And talking can remove the deep rooted problem. It often stems from childhood traumas. So I highly recommend finding a good therapist or a group therapy to talk about what happened in the past...and work through it. It's possible that his family caused the problem.

Thank you so much for your replies. It is definitely rooted in family issues during childhood but in the months since this post, we have talked through a lot of stuff and I am doing my best to be understanding. My own childhood was really horrible, too (alcoholic parents and all that brings) but finding good podcasts and links such as these has really helped me and therefore, I’ve been able to be more understanding with him. And thank you @8675-___ yes, medication isn’t always the answer, I agree. We passed our 37th wedding anniversary in January so I’m pretty sure we’re in it for the long haul and whatever that brings. Life is so tough for so many right now, isn’t it…

A friend, who I dearly love and lives far away from me, is struggling very seriously with depression. I try to help how I can with messages that do not put him in discomfort and maybe (hopefully) even make him feel a little bit better and understood. But sometimes I really have to HAMMER that "you can not fix him" thing into my head, and that is very, very hard. He is my favourite human being, and he deserves to be happy. I hope so much that I can help him. Certainly, this video is going to help me dealing with that issue. So, thank you very much!

Thank you for all that you have explained. I have been having a tough time helping an old aunt in depression. I almost skipped the first parts explaining what depression was. Am glad I heard the entire post. I am glad you said it takes time for her as I am seeing slow improvement since she has started on medication. Her hearing and sight have also weakened and actually that was the start of the depression. Bless you.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment-it takes a lot of self-awareness and courage to reflect on your past behavior and seek ways to better support your friend. Acknowledging where you might have fallen short is a big step, and it shows how much you care about them and their well-being. Sometimes, just being willing to listen without judgment, validate their feelings, and offer consistent support can make a world of difference to someone struggling with depression. It’s also important to remind yourself that you’re not solely responsible for “getting them where they need to be.” Encouraging them to seek professional help if they’re open to it can be a vital part of their journey. And don’t forget to take care of yourself too-supporting someone with depression can be emotionally taxing. If you found this video helpful, please consider sharing it so others can also learn how to better support their loved ones. How are you feeling about your next steps in helping your friend? If you feel like you need additional tips or strategies to help guide you along the way, please don’t hesitate to check DocSnipes.com/Clones.

It's an ex girlfriend. Taxing it is. I struggle with depression on a smaller scale than her and the sorrow of losing her has not helped my situation any. But she insists I help her when we text (our only contact). She has been to therapy and says she needs it, but doesn't seem to be putting in any effort to go. I get it, I probably should too and don't.

My depression is cause by emotional neglected parents. I was severely emotional neglected and traumatized I remember feeling broken and sleeping too much and eating a lot too when I was younger. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroid. I personally think my childhood has a large role in my depression. I still struggle with it . It has approved somewhat knowing where my depression comes from.

I wish I had someone who understands my level of mental health 😭, it seems like it's on the level where I need someone to take a good care of me,and understand me the way I am maybe it can help me to heal,but unluckily I attract only distractive people who increase my trauma instead of helping me to heal from it! It's been a year since I understood the problem I have but I have been dealing with it unknowingly for a long time! I hope to heal and get hope since I understood cz I fight to heal myself from it as u said! First thing is understanding. And it's really hard to get someone who can understand you as you need , except a person who went through the very same situation also it's not always for them to help u , only u yourself if you have that ability you can learn and heal yourself although it takes a time! Instead of crying to those who increase them to u. But I feel like after healing I can help someone to heal too It really hurts 🤕 living with depression and anxiety

Ty. I am actually going to a facility in California, in about 4 days. The head person at the clinic told me they have 6 beds and I’ll be staying for 30 days. Told me it’s life changing. I have tremors and major night terrors. My depression, anxiety and social anxiety is getting go bad. I’m so irritable. I would do never EVER have considered doing something like this. I don’t take any meds and workout. I’m in shape but I’m dying for some weird reason. They told me… I need to do this badly. Too many other issues to name but as nervous as I am… I sort of excited. I need to be happy again

this video was really insightful, the most difficult part that I find with my dad is communication. I ask him question such as: what are you feeling? how can I help you? what would make you happy right now? what can we do to make this situation less stressful?.. He doesn't take it seriously, because he doesn't believe in mental health problem such as depression or anxiety. I can tell that he feels everything that you mention but it feels like he doesn't want to be helped. Any advice is welcomed! I would really appreciate it actually

Wow, glad I found this, my husband recently diagnosed with clinical depression which as I am now reading certainly encompasses a hefty variety of different issues, but it atleast I am getting some understanding, he is getting therapy, but I found your video helpful as a personal care giver on how to approach him during his depression, anxiety. This atleast gives some notification to you as a care giver. When I am out - ppl mostly always ask about my husband -how is he doing? Great - I am glad f ou r their concerns and well wishes, but no one seems to ever ask - how am I doing? I am not the one at the Drs office getting therapy - what do I do, what should I not do, how do I handle my frustration, I constantly live with a person who has just everything mentioned in your video - thankyou for your insight and how to try and handle this situation.

When I would hear “do you feel depressed for more then 14 days” or whatever id always say to myself ummm yeah how about years 🤷‍♀️ I just recently heard of persistent depression and feel I fell into that category. I never knew pain and stiffness could also be a symptom. I am 34 and tell my husband that I don’t understand why I am always hurting. Neck, back, shoulders, just this horrible uncomfortable ache no matter what

You may want to look for a local, licensed professional counselor to work with on the persistent depression. -You can find other therapists via Psychology Today search: allceus.com/Psychology_Today_Therapist_Search Chronic Pain can be a causal factor of depression. Maybe consult a medical doctor. Perhaps an Osteopathic Physician. osteopathic.org/what-is-osteopathic-medicine/ Wishing you peace, health, and happiness.

In jan 2022 my dad got covid and fainted, he was around 80 and i panicked so much. A month later i had eye pain and temporarily lost my sight in one eye due to optical neuritis and i had to be hospitalized for the fist time in my life. Im okay now but i always had a fear of eye issues and going blind since i was 9 so the whole incident was more traumatizing than loosing my mom in my childhood. because when you lost someone you are still physically healthy and can work and earn money and take care of yourself but when you cant literally see you cant even enjoy life because all your hobbies and fun stuff are watching things.
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like you went through an incredibly traumatic experience, both with your dad’s illness and your own health scare. Having a deep fear of losing your sight since childhood likely made the situation even more overwhelming, and it’s completely understandable that this felt more traumatizing than even the loss of your mom. Our fears often take root in early experiences, and when something so specific becomes real, it can shake us to the core. What you’ve described highlights a significant aspect of trauma-when our basic sense of safety and control is threatened, it can feel like the world becomes unstable. In your case, losing sight, even temporarily, impacts not only how you engage with daily life but also the activities that bring you joy and comfort. It makes sense that this experience felt like it robbed you of more than just vision-it may have felt like it took away your sense of independence and the ability to fully enjoy the things you love. Recovering from a traumatic event like this can take time. Even though you’re physically okay now, it’s natural to carry emotional scars. If you haven’t already, it might be helpful to explore ways to process this trauma-whether through therapy, journaling, or other healing practices. Eye issues are incredibly anxiety-inducing, especially if you’ve feared them for so long, and finding ways to ease that underlying fear can be an important step toward regaining a sense of control. Your insight about the difference between physical and emotional health is powerful. Physical limitations can drastically alter how we experience the world, and it’s important to acknowledge how deeply that can impact mental health. I’d love to hear what you found most helpful from the video-your feedback is invaluable. If you’re interested in more tips on this topic or want to explore my full video library, feel free to use my Ai: allceus.com/AskDocSnipes. Be kind to yourself as you continue to heal from both the emotional and physical aspects of what you’ve been through. I don’t know what to do. This clinical depression is tough. I know it’s taking a toll on my husband. We have a lot challenges as well as a couple. I know he really loves me but I have pulled away and my heart is broken. How do I forgive him and get out of this depression? My head has got so many negative ideas about the future. Spiraling has been brutal. I only see all bad and sad. I made dinner tonight for the kids I was so proud of myself. I got out of bed and took a shower ( monumental) and went to IOP AND cried in the car all the way there in the morning. My day was anxiety and crying spells. I had to take an Ativan at 6:30 pm I calmed down and then was able to cook for my children. But I am always judging myself. And dark thinking is that we won’t make it as healthy marriage. I pray 🙏🏽 that I can come out of this and be the empowered person I was before.

My issue is that if I deal with the depression, anxiety, ptsd, it starts to destroy my marriage which then makes everyone unhappy. Forced celibacy tends to kill a marriage fast and for whatever reason, I'm really really sexually affected and nothing improves this. No drug, no assistive devices help. So sane OR happily married but never both.

@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 21 күн бұрын
I’m so sorry you’re going through this-watching someone you care about shut down during such a difficult time can feel incredibly painful and overwhelming. It’s clear you deeply care about your mother and want to support her, which is already so meaningful. When someone is processing a serious medical diagnosis, isolation can sometimes be a way to cope with feelings of fear, grief, or loss of control. While it can be challenging to reach someone in this space, here are a few ways you might offer support: 1. Gentle Presence: Sometimes, just being present without pressuring her to talk can be comforting. Sitting quietly nearby or offering to share small, calming activities together (like listening to music or watching a gentle movie) can help her feel less alone. 2. Validate Her Feelings: Let her know it’s okay to feel scared, overwhelmed, or withdrawn. A simple statement like “I’m here for you, and it’s okay to feel however you feel right now” can reduce emotional pressure. 3. Offer Small Acts of Care: Bringing her a comforting meal, making her space cozier, or simply checking in with a warm, “I love you, I’m here if you need me” can make a difference. 4. Encourage Gentle Steps Forward: If she’s open to it, consider suggesting a short walk together, some time outside, or sharing a mindfulness practice for emotional release. 5. Support for You Too: It’s hard to be a caregiver in these situations. Make sure you’re also seeking support-whether through friends, counseling, or personal self-care-so you can continue to be there for her. If you found this video helpful, please consider sharing it so others in similar situations can find support too. How can you get help those who are depressed, and angry, and they don't want to have nothing to do with you.
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 10 ай бұрын
Supporting someone who is dealing with depression and anger can be challenging, especially if they are resistant to help or pushing you away. Here are some strategies that might be helpful in such situations: 1. Understand the Situation: Recognize that depression and anger can cause people to isolate themselves and push others away. It's important to remember that these behaviors are symptoms of their condition and not necessarily a reflection of their feelings towards you. 2. Maintain a Nonjudgmental Stance: Approach the person with compassion and understanding. Avoid being critical or dismissive of their feelings. Instead, acknowledge their pain and let them know you're there for them. 3. Encourage Professional Help: Gently suggest that they seek professional support from a therapist or counselor. Offer to help them find resources or even accompany them to appointments if they're open to it. 4. Provide Information: Educate yourself about depression and anger management. Share what you learn with them in a non-confrontational way, which might help them see their situation more clearly. 5. Be Patient and Persistent: Recovery from depression and anger issues takes time. Be patient and continue to offer your support, even if they don't accept it right away. 6. Set Boundaries: While you want to be supportive, it's also important to set boundaries for your own well-being. Make sure you're taking care of yourself and not enabling negative behaviors. 7. Encourage Small Steps: Suggest engaging in simple tasks like getting up, taking a shower, and getting dressed. These behaviors can help signal to the body that it's time to be awake and can boost energy levels. 8. Safety Plan: Ensure the person has a safety plan if they are significantly depressed. They should know who they can call and where they can go if they need immediate help. 9. Support Their Autonomy: Encourage them to make choices for themselves and to take control of their recovery process. This can help them feel more empowered and less helpless. 10. Stay Connected: Continue to reach out and show that you care. Even if they don't respond, knowing that someone is there for them can be comforting. Remember, it's important to communicate your own needs and feelings in a supportive and non-blaming way. Be assertive and authentic, and let them know how their behavior affects you, while also expressing your desire to support them. It's crucial to have a rich and meaningful relationship with them despite their condition, and to help them feel heard, validated, safe, and supported as they make changes. I had depression for many years without realizing, and have never resonated with this notion that its "caused" by chemical imbalances. I maintain the idea that chemical imbalances are consequential to depression, as loneliness, grief, or an oppressive environment precedes biochemical changes. In the same way that the sun provides the conditions for life to evolve, the chemical changes on the earth are consequential to the suns proximity and activity.

It's understandable to feel worried about an online friend who is struggling with depression, especially if they've suddenly blocked you. When someone is dealing with depression, they may indeed push others away, which can be a coping mechanism to deal with overwhelming emotions or a way to protect themselves from perceived burdens on others.
Here are some steps you can consider: 1. Respect Their Space: Since your friend has blocked you, it's important to respect their decision and give them the space they've indicated they need. This can be difficult, but it's crucial to honor their boundaries. 2. Self-Care: It's also important to take care of your own emotional well-being. Supporting someone with depression can be draining, and it's essential to ensure you're not neglecting your own needs. 3. Seek Support: If you're feeling overwhelmed or anxious about the situation, consider reaching out to a support group or a mental health professional to talk about your feelings and get guidance on how to handle the situation. 4. Stay Open: If your friend reaches out in the future, try to be understanding and non-judgmental. Let them know you're there for them and that you care about their well-being. 5. Encourage Professional Help: If you have any way of communicating with your friend indirectly, perhaps through mutual friends or a different platform where you're not blocked, you might suggest they seek professional help if they haven't already. However, do this cautiously and respectfully, ensuring you're not overstepping boundaries. Remember, while it's important to be supportive, it's also essential not to take on the responsibility for your friend's mental health. Encouraging them to seek professional help and focusing on your own well-being are key steps in this situation. You can learn more ways to help your friend for FREE at allceus.com/DocSnipes-AI

Thanks for watching the video. Understanding the Situation It's commendable that you want to support your friend despite the distance. Depression can make people feel isolated, and your willingness to help can be a source of comfort for him. Communication Strategies Regular Check-ins: Make a habit of checking in with your friend regularly. Even a simple text message can show that you care and are there for him. Active Listening: When he does open up, listen actively. Show empathy and understanding without judgment or trying to fix his problems immediately. Emotional Support Encourage Positive Activities: Suggest activities that can uplift his mood, such as watching a funny movie or engaging in a hobby he enjoys. Share experiences or watch parties virtually to create shared moments. Share Hope and Gratitude: Encourage him to identify things he is hopeful about or grateful for. This can help balance out negative emotions and triggers. Cognitive Strategies Challenge Negative Thoughts: Help him recognize and challenge catastrophic or all-or-nothing thinking patterns. Remind him of his strengths and past successes. Focus on Control: Remind him of the aspects of his life he can control, which can empower him and reduce feelings of helplessness. Encouraging Self-Care Promote Healthy Routines: Encourage him to maintain a regular routine, including sleep, exercise, and nutrition, which can have a positive impact on mood. Mindfulness and Relaxation: Share relaxation techniques or mindfulness exercises that he can practice to manage anxiety and stress. Leveraging Technology Virtual Support: Utilize technology to stay connected. Video calls, online games, or even watching a movie together online can help reduce feelings of loneliness. Information Sharing: Send him resources or information that might be helpful, such as articles on coping strategies or inspiring stories. Encouragement and Validation Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge and celebrate his small victories, like getting out of bed or completing a task. This can help build his confidence and motivation. Positive Reinforcement: Provide positive feedback when he makes progress or has a good day. Genuine encouragement can be very uplifting. Maintaining Boundaries Respect Your Limits: While supporting your friend, remember to maintain your own boundaries. It's important to take care of your well-being too. Encourage Professional Help: Since he is already in counseling, encourage him to continue and possibly discuss these feelings with his counselor. Remember, your support can make a significant difference, even from a distance. Your friend is fortunate to have someone who cares as much as you do.

@@DocSnipes Thanks. Can you help me? In your video you mention that when there is a shortage of for example serotonine, or a surplus, then there may be another chemical imbalance. Would that in therapetuic work mean to work with the ambivalence /ambiquity that patients experience? So serotonine flow would be understanding stress and so that by living it, the underlying chemicals that may lack (happiness, are no longer blocked off) and can be lived, so that more balance is being created? In the job it would look like: Your boss seems to upset you.... this about your boss makes you happy... you may feel angry.. this excites you.. you feel exhausted.. (something like that? ) :D

Thank you for sharing such a beautifully poetic reflection. It sounds like you’re expressing the vastness of emotions and how experiences can echo and ripple through time. When sadness feels overwhelming, it can indeed feel infinite-like being lost in a vast space without direction. Remember, even though pain can feel endless, emotions are temporary, like waves or echoes, passing through our awareness. They don’t define you but rather reflect a moment in time. It’s okay to feel deeply, and reaching out for support during those moments can help you stay connected and grounded. Practices like mindful breathing, journaling, or expressive arts can be powerful ways to explore and process those echoes of emotion. You might also find it helpful to focus on small, grounding actions that reconnect you with the present moment-like noticing the feeling of your breath or the sensation of your feet on the ground. If you found this video helpful, please consider sharing it so others can explore these tools as well.
