I have been collecting and tasting bourbon for over 45 years. I currently have about 225 in my collection. I have done many blind tastings and have never placed the highest priced bourbons first. WT Kentucky spirit once beat out all the BT mash bill #2’s. Rip Van Winkle came in dead last one day. When you strip away all the hype and marketing BS it is amazing how your palate or perceived palate changes.

Okay, so Dan totally wins this, at least he had Calumet 16 in 2nd place and not last. Dan, your comment were how fantastic the nose was, how oily it was....Scooby Doo might have figured that out. It’s interesting that Dan called that 1792 SB an Old Kirk. I had a 1792 full proof pick recently that was very off profile for Barton or so I thought.. Lots of cinnamon. I immediately thought of the Old Kirk and Barrell’s that came from Willet. I just assumed it was a weird single barrel but if that note is now in the small batch too… 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I guess all I can say is bring back the bananas…
