@@niemann7214 If you truly think there are guys there who have less training than a 15 year old, I don't even know what to tell you. And genetics 100% plays a part in his success, not saying he didn't work hard but I don't think he'd be there if he wasn't like 6'5 with a 17 meter wingspan and could palm a yoga ball.

I was sitting on the deck watching when the first guy broke 2 minutes for 200 free. That was in 1963. When I was 15 I went 2:18 for 200 fly and that was pretty fast.

PrimaL for most people, 200 butterfly is definitely more exhausting cuz you can still move when you’re tired when you’re swimming backstroke breaststroke and freestyle, but definitely not for butterfly

As a former swimmer (and butterflier) the 200 still gives me nightmares. Hardest race in swimming. Last ten meters the water feels like liquid mercury.

Very good pacing for a 15 year old. He went out in ‘56 and came back in about 61, compared to 55/63 from the others.

@@bigstronkbee :-) The majority of butterfly swimmers raise their head to the front to breathe. Phelps did. But turning the head to the side doesn't raise it out of the water as much, thus not lowering the body behind it as much, attempting to create less drag. Depends on the swimmer.

Narayan Maharana There is no specific age limit for olympics actually! Individual sports can set limits though, for example gymnastics recently raised theirs to 16

Clearly u never watched other Olympics games before. Nadia Comaneci, a gymnast, got her gold medals and the first ever perfect 10.0 score when she was 14.
