Hi thanks for sharing your story, I'm sure it will be encouraging for many... I too have tinnitus..I guess I've had it about 9 years now...like you I went through all the stages including fear and high anxiety...however I have also habituated many years ago...I want to say to anyone who is new to tinnitus you will be ok ... if you can talk to people who encourage you and you will get there

I've had tinnitus for over 20 years due to a van crashing into my car. I went home with ringing etc in my ears and presumed they would go after I had slept for a while. 20 years later, it is worse, so I will try anything... At the moment, I self medicate to sleep, otherwise it would be impossible

Thank you for sharing. I’m so sorry to hear that you’re struggling with Meniere’s and that cinnarizine isn’t providing the relief you need. Meniere’s disease can be incredibly challenging, especially with the combination of tinnitus, vertigo, and other symptoms. While I’m not a medical doctor, I’ve worked with many people living with Meniere’s and tinnitus, and there are a few approaches that might help you manage your symptoms more effectively: 1. **Lifestyle Adjustments:** - A low-sodium diet and staying hydrated can sometimes reduce fluid buildup in the inner ear. - Avoiding caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine, which can worsen symptoms, may also be helpful. 2. **Stress and Anxiety Management:** Stress often worsens symptoms, so practices like mindfulness, breathing exercises, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can make a significant difference in reducing how your brain responds to the tinnitus and vertigo. 3. **Habituation Techniques:** For tinnitus, focusing on habituation-helping your brain rewire its response to the sound-can bring relief over time. This is a key area I work on with my clients through personalized coaching and online resources. 4. **Specialized Support:** You might benefit from exploring vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) for balance issues and working with an audiologist or a physical therapist who specializes in Meniere’s. If you’re open to exploring science-based strategies for tinnitus relief, I’d love to help you further. You can learn about my 1-on-1 coaching and MyTinnitusClub community, where I provide tailored advice, group support, and video courses to help people like you. Does tinnitus effect intelligence?
@tinnituscoachfrieder Жыл бұрын
You see in my case it did ;) I’m such a smart guy 😂 Joke aside, of course when you’re anxious and not we’ll you have less processing power available, but that’s not forever and tinnirus does not directly influence your intelligence. You might be momentarily impaired but definitely not irreversible. Looking forward to seeing you in our community 😊 www.mytinnitus.Club

@@tinnituscoachfrieder Thank you for responding. I haven’t noticed any change in intelligence. I was just curious if tinnitus can directly effect/change anything later on in life to one’s intelligence or the brain. My tinnitus isn’t very loud, and I hear it in silence or when its kinda quiet and mostly at night. I also get the feeling of ear fullness occasionally, and also have some high frequency hearing loss from being in a band and guns. I also have Tourette’s, and ocd. The ocd is definitely making it harder for me to habituate. I have faith it will get better, or I will forget about it and get used to it. I just want to be happy and go back to normal, and not always think about it. Is that possible?!

Hey Allen I saw your story, I have had tinnitus now for about three years and I have gone through all the emotions that come with it. I just wanted to let you know that it does get better not in the sense that it goes away but you will get used to it. Your brain starts to realize that it’s not harmful and you start to except that it’s not a big deal, you’ll see .I have met so many people over the years that have this , men and women. You got this.

@@warrensnow6695 hi warren thank you so much for that I am still struggling, I had a bad day today, I’m suffering with anxiety as well as tinnitus, the anxiety makes me feel all trapped in my head and my head aches with the anxiety, I’m trying everything every day to break free from anxiety as I’d be in a better place to deal with the tinnitus then, every day is hard work for me now, sorry to be negative but I’m struggling, I’m due to see someone in London in 10 days and I really think he can help me to relax more, it’s cranial physiotherapy, I wish I was where you are and it not bothering me that much, what did you do to get there ? Did you do any CBT or TRT or anything else ?

@@tinnituscoachfrieder hi frieder thanks for your message, I did see your talk on here and wow you sure do have a great testimony about how you’ve come through tinnitus, I am struggling as my anxiety is high and that why I have tinnitus, mine seems as if it’s in the top of my head and buzzes loud, and my anxiety makes me feel like I’m trapped in my head, it’s a really bad time for me, I’m trying most things but not working, I’m going to London to have cranial physiotherapy to help me relax my head, it’s stuck in fight or flight mode and I really need to calm in right down and switch off my head, I do sleep at nights but I feel like my head hasn’t slept for mouths it’s aching and buzzing, I’ll look into your site now, but mine T isn’t hearing loss it’s through anxiety, I pray to God I can get well,

@@alanmorgan2579 Time my friend. Time. When I first got it I was in the same exact place you are. My doctor prescribed me medication to calm me down and this seemed to work and as time went on I started feeling very used to the sound and my doctor weaned me off of it. By the way my doctor has it, he got it from falling of a bike when he was a kid and hit his head, my brother in law has it, my very good friend and his wife both have it, and another friend of mine who is a musician has it, when I first got it, he said to me. Oh, you have the musicians curse apparently, a lot of musicians get it. As time goes by you will have days were you actually forget about it and when you realize it’s not there you start to look for it and then it’s back. That’s the trick. You have to keep your mind busy thinking about your day to day activities things that are pleasant whatever your hobbies are etc. Also, don’t forget there are millions and millions of people around the world that have this condition and you are not alone. You will see time will definitely help you to cope with it. You’ll see just keep your mind busy with other things. Don’t be afraid to reach out.
