Just got to Ozanne Terminal. I saw like two Skimmer missions total, and I nearly shat myself thinking it’d already been patched. I re-watched the video, you said “farm rep to make them more common,” and now I am so relieved and relaxed that I could die at any moment. I’ll get to rep farming now. Heh. ^_^ Thanks for this awesome cash cow! Edit: Welp! I managed to make about $300mil before the nerf. Combination of awkward schedule and RNGesus deciding to test my conviction... at least I made enough for a new FDL, kitted out, and credits to spare for roughly 36 rebuys. I won’t have to worry about grinding for a little while, but it’s pretty disappointing that FDev refuse to address the real issue instead of nerfing shit every time someone DARES to start having fun.

Monday 21st May and it's still working. A couple of things to note. 1. Because of the way the mission boards refresh on the consoles versions, it's rare, but not impossible to stack more than 10 missions after which the boards stop updating. 2. You don't have to log in and out. If you just wait the skimmers will keep respawning. Especially useful if you find an instance without a defending ship.

This is my first time partaking in a skimmer mission stack, so any extra advice is very much appreciated. Also, quick side note. I'm planning on doing this in an almost A rated Python. Will this ship be adequate?

God of Destruction Beerus a python is more than enough. For advice I'd say put 4 pips to shields asap. Then, getting into position is more important than panicking and spamming rockets. Once in a good spot you'll hardly have to move again until mission is done.

Some bases have these pipelines you can hide under with your SRV (cover from system authority). Skimmers will just keep on spawning. Might be good for anyone not wanting to log in/out or don't have a ship able to handle this.

From the frontier forums: "Hello Commanders, For mission balancing reasons, we have made a change to the Massacre Skimmer mission type: Commanders will now only be able to take up five of these missions types at a time. This may be something we change in a future update and if it does, we will let you know. Thanks for your understanding!" So it is sorta nerfed, BUT... if you pick up 5 missions at 8 mil a piece that's still about 40-80 mil an hour if you are fast and lucky, if not more. Godspeed, commanders! Edit: unconfirmed if you can pick of 5 of each type (clean out and corporate strike) or 5 skimmer missions in total, can someone check?

Tried it with an ASP Explorer that was equipped with a 3A shield generator, two 0A Shield Boosters, and a 3D Hull Reinforcement Package. Was destroyed in a matter of seconds after the trespass alarm went off. I don't know if they've beefed up security in the last month or I had a pathetically brittle build. Tempted to try it with my Krait MKII, which is the only other ship I own, but I want to gather enough credits first to pay for a few times more than it's insurance cost.

I like to offer some additional tipps ... It seems the missions work a little different now. The skimmer mission payment is soley dependent on the faction relation now. So the best way to raise the faction now is to do the low paying skimmer missions. Instead of relogging at the skimmer site, stay in and wait for the respawn. There seems to be some kind of mechanic(bug?) that lets more missions register skimmer deaths. It seems much quicker that way even more so for the high pay missions that require 12 skimmers ...

Experiencing the nerf as well. It appears to stop giving you the skimmer missions once you have 3 (or more) picked already. So best you can do is grab 2 high paying ones, then board flip until you see 3 decent paying ones (it appears to only be giving me a max of 3 total available at a time as well). So then you end up with 5 total missions at best. Still a decent way to make money but cuts back on the amount drastically. I’m playing on xbone.

kevin lindsay you do not need engineers unlocked to do this set of missions. Just use a ship with 2 medium missile launchers and a big boosted shield. Then do what he says to kill generator to stop the anti air turrets. The skimmers are fish in a barrel. Getting money to get into a ship you do not know how to fly will cost you many rebuys FYI.

kevin lindsay My Combat Zone Corvette, turrets because even if I can maneuver they amuse me greatly. C4 multi is amazing for stripping hull. eddp.co/u/mUfo7Lqo It is really hard to die in this in PVE. Just learn when to use the SCBs (right about the last ring of your shields) and make sure to disable one, and always pop a heat sink when using them. If your shields drop, you will still live as long as you don't stay too long if you're not sure you can win. Also remember, 4 to sys and 2 to wep will make this thing last forever, literally. Sometimes you need to temporarily do 4 to wep and 2 to sys but not always. Use taipan fighters with beam lasers and heat sinks, fixed beam lasers. Use an expert crew member. They are effective at stripping shields. They also die less. The hull reinforcement is mainly designed so if you goof up you won't immediately die to npcs, this ship costs a lot you don't want to die to a few missiles. If my shields drop I typically just enter supercruise because lmao, why not. Its PVE and my ship is big, not like you'll be mass locked, unless there is a close by type 10, thargoid, or cutter. Also, if you wanna be 'that guy' - npcs don't care if you use task manager to close the game, players do. So, Combat log away to cheat the system. Just don't do that against players, unless they are griefing you or attacking you for literally no reason other than to be a dick, then you have full permission to respond in kind by being a dick and combat logging.

Ive found that if you land. Dismiss the ship. Head towards the settlement. Stay alive until the skimmers come out. Get out quick. Recall the ship. Start missile killing the skimmers. Skimmers now seem to spawn indefinitely. No need to keep logging in and out. Not sure it’s much faster, just seems more realistic lol.

You can also just stay flying. They respawn without loggging out or landing. If you stop seeing as many then just shoot something that will give you a fine. After you get a couple fines they seem to pop back up. Probably do without as well but to me that seems to trigger them faster.

Just flew to ozanne terminal and took 3 skimmer missons with my dect out pyton. needed to go to a hip planet and station.other that this offcourse . and tried to find the turret generator.had a hard time to find it. so started to shoot the skimmers with my missiles a and got like 2 laser hits witch took out my shields in a sec and shot me down to like 38%. managed to get out but it seems they increased the dmg of the laser by ALLOT? any info on that. or skimmers missions that still work to this date?

This mission is definitely worth the time it takes to start making bank. But I still like the parutis passenger missions because it allows me to set the controller down and do something else for half an hour. At the moment I’m making somewhere around 40 mil in a little over an hour. That includes the time collecting the missions, flying there and getting back.

What I dont get is how you stack SO many. I mean I understand you change from open to solo and so on but that only works once for me. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to flip the board continuously and get different missions?

Thanks d2ea, just for info on PS4 i am allied with all at the mission station, I receive max 5 missions with a variation from 1.5 to 3.7 mill per mission, problem I have is there is. Bastard ship that keeps twatting me, is there an approach method to avoid the ship...the minute I destroy the power supply..the bastard slaps me ,my shields deplete really fast even with 3 booster engineered ? Off topic ,really enjoyed the round table stream ..what would you think to the idea of clan based static space stations like guild halls which you need to upgrade and maintain have a for open play PvP plus possibility for thargoid attack as well

Just fly to Ngalinn system and do missions delivery to get Empire rank fast. I got from Count all the way to King in less than a day and I only went for King because it was so easy. It's easier to grind than Federation rank since there are more minor factions that affiliate with the Empire so more missions that give you Empire ranks.

Well, there's basically no skimmer missions there right now anyway. Just those damn assassination and massacre missions where they want you to kill (litrerally) 75 pirates lol. I think that so many people are trying to do this currently that any skimmer missions are gone from all boards before you can say "board-hop" -_- lol smh.

It still works but my best and highest credits was 97million. You need a little bit luck for good quests but it works. Really nice man thx for this. I become from 60-100 million thats good and it maked fun ;-)

so i just logged in, still had 20 skimmer missions stacked off yesterday. i went and completed all 20 missions, return to ozanne terminal and handed in all 20 missions, everything went fine. obviously there are no skimmer missions as all the factions have changed from war/civil war to boom. is this all that has happened to kill the missions? all we have to do is find a similar system? hopefully imperial this time?

I battled my way over from the other side of the universe it seems, in my DiamondbackX....got there in time to get destroyed a bunch of times at Mussche working things out and finally managed to earn about $100million (game changing for me!) after finally setting everything up as you instructed (but after many more hours....I am so bad)....then I got logged out for patching tonight and when I came back it was nerfed....5 missions stackable max. If you have a medium sized ship the station in mussche orbiting the planet has interstellar factors

If you have 20ly jump range you can jump straight from target zone to Chuangubu, West Gateway, and RE-everything there, clear bounty and 19ly jump back to HR 4637. Fast and clean. Been jumping from Oz to HIP 60028 to avoid the climb off planet.

I mean you can but you need to do the kills for each mission, not summed up. I wonder if it's also the skimmers missions' case.. I doubt that we can still do what's in this video. Although I wouldn't mind some missions like that as my credits balance is soooo low :D

There are still plenty of "clean out" skimmer missions around the edge of the bubble - you can rack up, and do on the ground in an SRV easily without having to relog all the time. Found a few stations around LYR controlled space. Not going to be as "meta" as this and well, I'd suggest the relogging probably puts extra pressure on networking, potentially bringing about a swift nerf, but fuck it who cares - FDev deserve it at this rate. I've been doing this in my asp explorer:P. of course it can't take a hit like a bigger ship but i normally crash into the generator while firing missles to take it out, those defenses can tear an asp ex to bits REALLY quick. really don't have much of a choice if using a smaller ship:P. Since FD have no intention of adding any practical means of making money, i'm going to use the fuck outta this while i can so i can do what i want and actually enjoy the game.

Why do you have to rinse after the mission?

You don't even have to relog after each 'wave' of skimmers; a new set will spawn within about 10 seconds of the final one being killed.

Philip Bannor you can also go high up (about 2.5km) then come back down and they respawn :)

I was able to do about 10 skimmer missions easily, but then they stopped spawning altogether. I logged out, logged back in, still nothing. I can blow up the generator or turrets all day and there are no skimmers. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

or better yet just land and take out the skimmers in the srv and wait for them respawn and repeat no need to log . I hope this dose not make them take the skimmer missions away again or i will be pissed allmost done getting my ships done

They reduced the mission limit to 5. Meta Alloy missions in Maia should be good right now (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIe2lKOcaLuapNU)

actually there is no need to exit to game menu.just fly around the base and skimmers will respawn

Is it just me or does it take a heap of board flipping to fill your mission list. I spend a good deal more time board hopping than blowing up skimmers. By the way thanks heaps Astro!

After 2 runs, the settlement becomes hostile. It starts to shoot me as soon as I go within 3 km. My krait (not engineered, with ~500 shield) can't even get close to the generator before my shield runs out.

You can no longer log in and out for refresh missions, so you're unlikely to get 20 skimmer missions.

Not sure about anyone else, but the mission board is full of delivery, massacre, and assassination missions. Takes 45-60 minutes just to get 20 missions even with board flipping. Did FD nerf board flipping?

DTE, first thanks as I am a subscriber and have been. Secondly, its a crying shame they nerfed this but .... I made over 2 billion doing this over the last week. Such a shame because I was wanting at least one more billion to just sit on, but I was able to buy a FULLY and I mean FULLY decked out destroyer of a completely engineered top to bottom Corvette because of this opportunity. It is probably safe to say that these missions will never again return as they will have just implemented some global code now that stops it permanently in all future releases. Such a shame for me :(
