It is such a nice little feature, is useful for all of the zoning for sure Have done it with zoning for residentual. Also something I have done once or thrice, is put in small clusters of IT inside my office zones, with a bit of jiggling you can manage to make small 4x4 or 8x4 blocks of IT inside your zones, or small tourisme/leisure ones as well :D

when the time comes, i think it would look amazing if the airports are built on a peninsula. Have the approach over the water or overlooking the city, or maybe the runway extends into the water something similar to what Sydney or SFO has. It would minimize the space needed for an airport having everything tucked in a peninsula. looking forward to the airport episode but also this one.

Biffa, one little thing I notice that you do, you always struggle searching for the buildings you want when your building industries stuff. It makes it a lot easier with those little sorter buttons in the building tab, you can sort it by extractors, producers, and storage, makes it much easier to find what you need :)

That old abandoned factory asset is beautiful. I would be tempted to turn it into an "industrial museum park" of some sort, like a memorial to industrial development. Having it surrounded by active industry would make it even better.

Chattanooga TN has a whole tourism thing centered around the phase "See Rock City" so the zoo could be called Sea Rock Citea Zoo. That combines the waterfront, Rock Park, and tea!

Loving this build! A couple of things: 1. As mentioned you may need to alter storages in your extended timber area. 2. If you find your new cargo train station causes and issue, you should be able to add a connection heading the other direction from the new railway. It will so divert trains from the level crossing. 3. Definitely need a harbour somewhere for that refinery and a cargo barge to help service it. 4. and finally, you should add more trees between the zoo and alien rock park. It will help reduce noise from concerts and thus not stress out the animals.

Couple of suggestions 1 you definitely should connect the new pedestrian bridge that goes over the highway to the bicycle highway. 2 now that you unlocked all squares you can fix that weird tunnel you anarchied in at the train terminal near your new forestry area. 3 you should cross the rail road tracks near the new factories and connect into the roundabout beside the highway. This will help reduce traffic in your industry/factory area and encourage use of the train terminal.

Awesome series Biffa. You stated that the majority of the resources needed for the 2 big factories are from accross the river, maybe adding a cargo barge stop between the two will assist in getting goods there faster than taking a train.

A few things: - the powerlines for the train are running through the pedestrian brdige you put over the railroad at the start of the episode - the cargo station you have build this episode can only export outside the city or move cargo to the other cargo station at the waterfront industry park. it cannot send/recieve goods directly to/from the cargo station near the new forest industry expansion. - maybe add another harbor for your barges (the ones that use the ferry pathways) near the new petroleum factory. Might take a few more cargo trucks of the road and help with traffic.

Hey Biffa, for that triangle train junction near the shipyard, if that does become too busy or clogged you can remove that connection again and instead make the loop/turn around access for the forestry cargo train terminal slightly bigger and join that line before your shipyard. This is because the trains still have to join that train line for the forestry cargo train terminal and then your shipyard good can be brought from the city lines. Hope I've explained well enough haha 😂 loved this next installment of New Tealand

Biffa: Perplexed why you'd place a refinery without any oil storage? Intermodel containers do not contain oil and petroleum products delivered to refineries are not in boxes. Try extending your oil area to the refinery space, add oil storage and petroleum distillation facilities. That streamlines the oil shipping whether by truck or rail and the distilleries can deliver direct to the refinery. Highly profitable. And why on earth would you place ore storage around a refinery that doesn't use ore? TWICE!

A few ideas for the new industry area. 1)Add fire, police and health serices. 2)Add a barge harbour there to bring in the goods to the factories from the industries in other islands. 3) Add normal Cargo Harbours and Cargo rail hibs with connections to the main rail network. (For Exports). Add multiple cargo harbours there around the whole quayed up pier area so it looks like a massive Harbour-Industrial area. 4) And, add generic indistry within the indudtrial area instead of offices. We need to reduce imports.

Don't forget you have your Cargo ferry boats to transfer all the metals from Orelando to your new industry area! I think a new terminal is necessary! Will also fill some of the waterfront too

Idea to help smooth out the railway lines around the ship yard area, Have the main line cross the road at a diagonal to the main road, and realign the main line closer to the road and roundabout, it would give you a bigger area that also has a natural barrier to continue expansion of the ship yard, and would allow you to have a smoother transition in to the cargo terminal. I also love the old disused factory building have been left, it makes the whole area look so real!

You can build them as a "park area" and just use custom assets for the "park buildings", my favourite thing to do is use "invisible paths" to connect them together so it looks like your cims are walking on the sand. They'll treat it like a normal park area (and even pay to enter) if you set it up correctly! I love to build beach areas in my cities

heh, I was sitting thinking, when you were fiddling with the cargo train stration around 19:00 If you are that afraid of poofing that old factory, why not just move it with the move-it mod, easiest solution ;) And also, shipyards dont need special good warehouse, they sail the ship out when it is done, it doesnt put in storage first :D

Forestry products can be imported, if you set a warehouse to 'fill' it can, and will be imported. Doing this not only cost you money, but trucks, as they travel to another city to bring the goods back.

For a joke, you could also use the "Move It" mod to copy those abandoned factories, and then create a large district comprised of just those abandoned factories, and literally nothing else. Then name that district "TEAtroit" (Detroit). Or would that joke be too cruel?
