Biffa, instead of manually placing fences alongside the road, you can use the create parallel mod. It works just as well with fences as it does roads.

Hey Biffa, love the videos! When you placed the new campus building and were re-building the paths, you made a crossing but didn't connect the T junctions of paths again (behind the train station), forcing citizens to take a long way around. You should go back there and just place a tiny path connecting the paths on both sides of the crossing :)

When I build a space complex, I kind of break it up into 3 zones. A supply area that has tank farms and other industrial type things, a support area that has fire, police, and an airstrip, maybe some office space with high-rise bans, and a visitor's area that has all the public facing goodies, the launch site itself, and some commercial. Basically, in the supply area, I add in the tank farm (oil and water) like you did, a toll gate (fake security) like you did, but also the large ore storage silo since that is what is used for 'building' the rocket and a water pumping station to the tank area for the looks. If I've got the space a water tower away from the polluting buildings, usually by an access road into the area because who doesn't like a big water tower with the name of the space complex on it? If I have the room, one or two of the evacuation bunkers, again, for the looks, underground storage and all that. In the support area, I'll add in the climate research station and the weather radar (for the launch range weather support), a little police and fire station, and the aviation club to get an airstrip in the area for the usual weather, security and abort recovery services, plus it's nice to see little planes flying around. If I'm by water a barge/shipping pier, otherwise a train like you have and some low-rise office space because scientists and administrators need places to work too. In the visitor area, I obviously have the launch site itself, but I'll add in 4 small emergency broadcast antennae around the actual launch site to make it look like it has those lightning protection towers around it that are usually there. Depending on how much actual available space I have to work with, I'll add in the space shuttle, deep space radar, and an observatory (if I haven't already used them elsewhere) and turn it into a little 'science center' for the little ci-tea-zens to teach them about space, the program there, and get them excited about becoming astronauts one day, filling in the spaces between these buildings with parking and low density commercial. A ferry stop is sometimes in the cards if I'm by water, otherwise a train station if I'm far away from everything else, or a monorail if I'm relatively close to another transportation hub purely for the high-tech look. And finally finishing up with a very basic nature reserve which also provides me with observation decks and towers for on lookers who aren't lucky enough to visit the actual site or to keep me from building too close (a buffer zone) if I'm not on an island or peninsula and sometimes even if I am. Not going for a 5 star area or anything, just a protection zone like what's around Kennedy, Cape Canaveral, Wallops Island, Vandenberg, ect.

My name for the space agency is E-TEA Extra-Tearrestrial Exploration Agency You should add some emergency shelters that can be "used" as point where the staff that need to be close to the rocket can keep track of things asfely, also there is the Deep Space Radar and the Weather Radar that would look good in this area. Same with some of the Antenna's (if put some distance away) and even the Disaster Response Unit building would look good as the entrance building for guests/visitors to the area and let's not forget some of the High Tech Buildings from the content creator pack. And this place needs it's own Fire Station, I would say a large one

Hey Biffa- take a look at that interesting intersection by the new cargo station. Two of the directions have a dedicated right turn shortcut so therefore when it gets to the actual intersection the right turn movement doesn’t need to exist- and would allow for dedicated lanes (straight on and left turn). 🧐

(and for conversation later, in en-us, these are known as "high speed corners" mostly, in the eastern part of the country and "slip turns" in the western part. Still useful in very industrial areas, but generally very rough on pedestrians and falling out of favor. Can sub for a roundabout if only one corner is troublesome getting out onto a bigger road. Slip the inside turn traffic off to a lane-mathematics reverse-asymmetric segment, and a timed traffic light with a LONG cycle time for the ahead and outside turn lanes.)

It's just an odd junction all round to be honest, it came with the map. If you remove the RH Turn from the intersection on those 2 sides that have the slip lane then you have two straight on lanes going into 1 lane and it throws it all out. It's crying out for a roundabout tbh :-)

In regards to the 4 way junction that was already there (22:53). It has 2x right-handed slip lanes, but at the junction you can also turn right as well. Surely it'd be better if you could only go straight on or turn left at the junction for those two roads?

I started thinking a launch site would have coast guard boats nearby, and then I though about navy ships and ports and then I thought City Skylines has very little military facilities. I made a suggestion about doing a space area on the islands forever ago, and I have no idea if that influenced you, but I am so happy to see it! living near NASA here in the states when I was growing up always made me love space, and the space program. You should check out how Cape Canaveral is laid out. It might give you some ideas for the future with the area. Like New Tealand it is located on an island as well. Love the job as always it looks awesome!

The main thing I have with this layout is the launchpad being on the "inside" side of island and not ocean-side, rocket safety and all that. I hope he gets around to the telescope he's mentioned before and puts on the highest mountain and not the ridge through the middle. Especially since that very high mountain is off to the side so away from being surrounded by city lights. I know I'm a dork.

@@JJayzX Funny enough pad 39 where they used to launch the shuttle, and now do the space x stuff is ocean side. In fact they launch everything over the ocean for fear it lands on a populated area. The Delta launchpad is located off of the lagoon, but they even push out over the ocean. Only reason I know this stuff is I did some work out there a couple decades ago. Helped build the Delta pad as well actually 😁

Here's a thought for the launch site. When they launch rockets into space, they flood the area with water to help remove some of the enormous energy created by the rocket, so maybe you could put some water tanks on the outskirts to try and simulate that?

Biffa driving demand for ever more tea has prompted the first tea plantations on Mars. Surprisingly the soil on Mars would be very friendly to tea plants and the heavy carbon dioxide atmospheric content would promote fast growth. I *think* trucks delivering to the cargo rail station will cut across the road when leaving it, but trucks that *spawn* at the cargo rail station after a train has just arrived will always turn right upon leaving it. You had a similar thing in a previous recent city, I think. Pretty useful behaviour to know about when deciding how to orientate your cargo rail stations, if that is how it works.

You could add an extra slip lane to that intersection because a lot of the traffic there is turning right to take goods from the station to the launch pad. Then upgrade the roads past the slip lane to four lanes for consistency.

My suggestion for the name of the new area: El Tea John Square. Then you could name the rockets Rocket Man (1, 2, 3 etc). Also, the road going into the cargo train terminal, you have 2 lanes going into 1 going back into 2. I would change the asymmetric Rd to a 4-lane Very fun video overall though!

I think a fire station should be added to the launch site area. They would be required to stand by on launch days and the area would store many hazardous materials.

I think you should add the space shuttle launch pad, the technology museum, and/or the science museum. In addition, I know it doesn't go with the liberal arts campus, but the School of Engineering and/or the School of Science on the other (not trade school) university tab. I know that means having to level up a second university in the city. You would have to endure a meteorite strike to get to put down the Meteorite Park. The Transport Tower would be another one to add nearby, and you would need a LOT of transportation options to deal with the inflow/outflow of people from it. As for the area, I would recommend swapping the name around. Instead of ChirpX (obvious reference), switch it to SpaceTea Island (sort of a play on spice tea).

I really good way to feed the rocket launch is with recycling plants, since they create raw materials - ore, crop, oil, wood - and then that can be delivered straight to the launch site, or to other industries. This could also reduce the distances some industries need to bring the materials
