14:10 Your elevated station is broken! The track should be elevated, but for some reason, it's on the ground. Moving the station track will completely brick the entire station, so you'll need to reset it to fix it.

The high speed viaduct train track does make a difference when elevated. With the clock tower, I get 113 mph with all other sections, but with the viaduct elevated, I can get 165mph with the right track conditions (length, curvature, cargo traffic, etc). Also, the metropolitan airport has built in helicopter stops, so you don't need the stand-alone stop that you added.

I'm going to say it again. NO MOUNTAIN that has Big Civilization Around it does not dig into the mountain to create a tunnel to cut through. From the Birdsong transit hub, Under and Through the mountain and through the industry/ airport Hub.

It would be nice to build an area to be high-tech. Throw in a lot of IT Offices, monuments, and unique buildings related to Tech. Then run monorails around the area. Biffa, using the parallel tool you can put the P+B path as a sidewalk on the main road, and then run another parallel road 4u offset running parallel off the pedestrian path. That means you have no buildings off the main road which is a bonus, but can build right up to it.

I have a small suggestion for the ailien rock park .... i would suggest to arrange the 3 rocks in triangle to mimic the triangle shape of the park below ... at the moment even through they are tall they are just that and you hardly notice that they are floating.

Someday you could go over all your metro/tram lines and connect the ends. Atm you have 2 lines per lane at the stations: One line comes in from one direction and stops and another one starts and goes out the other side. Not only is this unrealistic for irl but it basically doubles the amount of lanes with no real benefit.

In regards to which area to work on next, NPA makes the most sense in terms of connecting the city to itself and making it feel like a single urban entity...but getting the InterCity trains under control over at Bentealy makes a whole lot of sense, too.

Hi Biffa, I actually have a tip for you, when you do anything related to water that can cause flooding, all you have to do is use the water tool and reset water levels, and poof, no more flooding! I find it invaluable when doing anything around water, Rock On!

Gday Biff. With your metro hub and it’s lines, instead of dead ending or terminating your lines at the hub all the lines should travel right through and terminate at the end of the line not in the middle. This way you can run less lines, possibly less trains be be more efficient.

would love to see a IT cluster area in some of these areas to bring more traffic over. the Quay wall area in the new spot put the stair segments going down so ppl use it. not a fan of the new train section. takes away SOOO much buildable space. and it looks meh. The Bentealey Station yards are SOOOO unrealistic! The tracks could be extended and the turnouts made more gradual, like ideally 1:12 change in direction. Plus you could build on air rights as IRL if the game will allow it

Biffa the taxi depot has a very small limit of taxis (think about each depot is a company or line of taxis), so with the size of your city you will probably need several depots otherwise the taxis will not be able to serve the taxi stands

Ah finally Biffa saw a comment about this, maybe he will remember when he is playing. Kind of game's fault that people don't realize this as the bus depot doesn't have a limit how many busses can come out of it. Taxis even return back to the depot time to time.

When you touch the road under the monorail stations, you add road+monorail track instead of only the road+bike option. That might be the cause of the inability to put a route

It would work if you had monorail station segments, but I don't think anyone so far has bothered to upload a monorail station over the road kinda segment still voting option 3 One thing I think would be interesting for your cities since you use ferry paths a lot would be moveable bridges (bridges that open to let water traffic pass) Wouldn't be many but they would add that little extra extra to the cities I think

I know that's referring to the real New Zealand & the sunken continent of Zealandia, but New Tealand appears to be a coral atoll. If it was a real place, it would have likely a larger volcanic island millions of years ago. I think cims should have an option to take the ferry staight over sea. Lines with only two stops each line and shortest paths over the sea is more effective than traveling along the coastlines. Only 50 passengers per boat makes it even harder now to take the ferries. Like it is now It would take ages, in real life a normal time for a 13km ferry line (ferry with cars) is 35min. Do the airport have a built in helicopter stop? Looking forward to see the result of this. 😊

At the last section being worked on, instead of putting a train line around the area, trolley/tram lines would have been better and then add a small transfer station where the train line is initially at. This would allow better transportation around that area and wouldn’t be surrounded by noisy train lines. And it wouldn’t be as much of a hassle getting to the other side of the highway…. It would make it a lot easier when expanding that area…

While that bike path monorail road works for your uses, I don't know why you didn't use the monorail over the road mod tracks that you have already. When you pointed to the vanilla tracks and said "I bet you're wondering why I don't use these." I was like nooo the ones below it! Lol. One of the larger sizes could have probably not impacted bike lanes, or at least went down correctly when you switched to the roads with medians. You could have also made it taller. Worked out in the end though I suppose. Loved the idea of having it go through that unique city arch building! Immediately made me want to adjust my monorail in my city to have one go through that! Also everyone has already said it, but the metro airport you have does already have helicopter depot and stops built into it. You might consider getting the "Measure it!" Mod for judging distances too.

You should dedicate Option 2 (if you build there) for IT Offices and get some skyscraper assets that are much taller than any other buildings. That would look cool. Also, even though the land value will stay the same, it just doesn't look nice if you have used your prime real estate (near the water) for transportation hubs. You should have rich people with large houses living there.

21:50 - Was a touch worried the monorail would be unhappy about having two sets of rails, one for the station and one for the road. 23:00 - I feel justified haha. I do think it would have worked if you use the normal four lane bike road and not the one with the monorail. If you leave it as is though you may be able to use intersection marking to kind of curve the bike path towards the pavement to look nicer.

Aww, Biffa , Vanilla++ has those different width monorail tracks that can be anarchy'd onto any other road, so you can keep bike, bus, trees, or other style underneath. :) That is what all the tracks are with the widths, so you can match with the underlying road and have the pillars appropriately placed without issue or having to do horky borky centring manually. You figured out the other bit, but the reason is that in order for a train, metro, or monorail to work at a station is you need that crossover style track right outside it so they can swap around and go the proper direction when it is a turn-around. CPP found that out with his station, too, which is where I learned it.

I'm saddened that you squared off Birdsong since the terrain at the peak there actually looked like a bird's head and wings, I was hoping you would lean fully into the theme and make the terrain look even more like a bird, maybe even putting some small islands off the coast in the shape of music notes.

I love the transit hubs idea. They will be great as long as traffic doesn't get all clogged up in those small roads :) Also, the pillars you copied for the train bridges you setup. The one you pasted at 37:28 is slightly off center of the track.

Maybe with the monorail stations, just unlock-upgrade the roads to bike roads, as the station already has a monorail. Upgrading to bike road with monorail might clip/bug the monorail out.

There are these paths on the steam workshop called zone-able permedeans(I probably spelt that wrong, but it's something along those lines) that allow pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency vehicles to go on it, and no other cars but you can still zone it. Not sure if it suits your fancy, but it could work.

To check the height of a bridge over a train line, you don't have to wait for a train. You can use the height of the catenary wires to judge the height of the bridge.

The train stations switching area should be longer so that way if trains line up on certain tracks they don't spill onto the main line

You could try to put an helicopter stop on top of one of the moutains where the cable car stop are so you have a VIP helicopter tour of the moutains. Love the content !

I still say you can make HMP Guiltea work with no road connection. Cargo barges, ferries (or something else that goes over the water), Prison Helicopters MOD, More Effective Transfer Manager, with tiny service buildings on the island, and on-site garbage processing.

Biffa!!! You had both items in. Let me explain: You already had monorail tracks over road, it's the 16m and 32m monorail pieces at the end in the monorail view. Also, the metropolitan airport already has a helicopter stop. Don't need the additional one. All, in all, loved the episode, although I was a little late cos I wa traveling.🙂

Biffa seems to do that a lot... a series of short distance metro links, instead of running the length of the track. It always strikes me as strange, since in the real world, passengers would be quick to voice their annoyance at all the unnecessary transfers...
