Andrew; my absolute favourite of your videos to date. A vulnerability and honesty that made this so accessible. Great video and one I'll go back to for help and advice. 10/10

Nice one bud i love the trossachs. I love to get out and do a bit of wild camping and kayaking up there along with fly fishing, you can't beat it especially when it's on our doorstep.

Hi Andrew. No water in rainy Scotland! You really made me laugh! Greetings from Brussels.

Hi David, I had to laugh too, its rare to go out on a Scottish hill and struggle to find the H2O ! Next weekend lucky . Thanks for watching . A

@@AndrewParkOutdoors Thanks for the nice videos, btw. I'm preparing my next trek to Spain ("Picos de Europa"). Not sure which tent I'll take between my Gossamer Gear "the one" and my Vaude Power Lizard. Two good tents you have not tested... yet! ;-)

You done well to get the camp done with all this naff weather of late , winter what winter :-( Still you managed it and even the skies cleared for you for some night shots , I have found similar holes on my camps nasty if you fall badly. atb Dave

Hi Dave combo of little time and pants weather as you say, you need to have a bag packed and ready to go with a few hours notice ! ;-) ATB enjoying your vids.

LOL your trip reminds me of an overnighter I did on Auchineden Hill . The ground was drenched. There were mud-puddles thigh-deep. But could I find a water source? I even had my OS map with water sources on, all of them dried up. Quite late I wandered over to The Whangie which is next to it and some day hikers / local touristy types gave me their spare litre. That night was a monsoon with hours of lashing rain (tent held up beautifully) and all I could hear was rivers of water. Amazing how you can be in the wet and still not have anything to drink!!

Love your videos. Do you use the emergency foil under the tent as insulation? I'm wondering about the warmth of the Ferrino Solo so just curious. I'm in NZ and have the Stormbreak, which would be similarly tight but i froze my butt off in that when it was just below 0 °C so looking for something that would keep me warmer as i go out in winter a lot. Would you think this is suitable? Thank you
@AndrewParkOutdoors5 ай бұрын
It was more as a super light footprint option. The Ferrino is warm due to it's compactness and aluminised fly but the the build quality could be a bit 'italian' !
@kathelementalbodywork43495 ай бұрын
@@AndrewParkOutdoors Cheers mate! I was wondering as much. Great idea. I always have one with me. Yeah, I bought the Ferrino Transalp 100l backpack last year for big missions into the mountains with ropes and climbing gear and food and tent etc etc, and while it is a really solid and handy pack, it is perhaps also a little "Italian" on the quality side, but so far I am happy enough. So I know what you mean. I couldn't really find another affordable solo tent that would be warm enough for some snow though so I will give the Ferrino Solo a shot. Keep those videos coming, really appreciating your way of doing these. Kia ora from New Zealand

Chilly night. 🥶 Those clefts are a pain, loads on Ben Donich you could lose a man in. Did you not keep your Jimny?
@AndrewParkOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robin, yes I found some stashed army rations on Donich a few years back . Id have loved to keep the Jimmy but couldn't sell the Skoda without losing too much, to be fair the Yeti is a better all rounder but do miss the character of the wee Suzuki. A

I passed your car in the dark on the Dukes Pass on the way back from Ben Venue on Saturday night. I thought who is mad enough to be out in this (apart from me obviously) - now I know. I climb Craigmore quite often, there is a re-built hill path up Craigmore, just below where your car was parked - looks like you may have found it on the way down. I got caught in that clag to the north at sunset that night. Some of those deep crevices and caves under the heather up top can catch the unwary and - there is no water up there. Regards - John.

Andrew, the light in your tent, is that the Uco candle light? Do you leave it lit all night? I have one but it is just used in the vestibule - too nervous to bring into the tent in case she burns the tent (heat rises etc).
@AndrewParkOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Colman, yes that's the mini tea light version ( I've got the bigger version too ) . Although I do use it in the inner I always blow it out before sleeping for all the reasons you've rightly mentioned ! A
@johnmcsporran30904 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewParkOutdoors I use the UCO candle light, I find it assists to keep the condensation at bay, I hang it on the chain and leave it lit during the night.
