That's the best mod I've seen for that size motor! Fucking better than any eBay jacking plate, well done mate 👍 Hey what pitch prop you run on that 18? Next stop put on twin motor bike carbs and exhaust modification! 😂

That a great job man how much more weight are you putting back on the transom ?
@25hpboatracerman5 жыл бұрын
I think I have added about 10kgs. Good point, I will weigh the motor. I’m not too worried though because the tinny it’s on is a beast.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I suspect you have used the tilt ram and the second ram is the trim ram that is slower thus why it only goes at one speed which is the faster speed of the tilt ram, shouldn’t be an issue on a 15hp other than fine adjustments of trim will be harder than normal. Great job though and I wish my 15hp had this
@25hpboatracerman4 жыл бұрын
The 55hp - 65hp Suzuki rams are both single speed (same power throughout the stroke). You are correct that most outboards have extra shorter rams for the trim. There are a few single speed rams capable of trim and tilt (Mercury has some on there V6 outboards) also. The trim works very well on the 15hp. The speed of trim is a little fast as you may imagine but I got used to that pretty quick. Cheers, Glenno

Great job but a lot of trouble for a little 15hp.

Ha, so so true mate. Massive amount of tinkering for sure. Definitely not worth the labour and cost if that’s what i was looking at. I do use that motor a whole heap and smile every time I trim or tilt it. I just like doing that sort of thing as a hobby, I don’t watch much TV, no video games so tinkering with outboards is great fun. I guess it’s like me looking at a guy making a model boat, so many hours, he won’t get paid for it it’s not viable etc but it’s his hobby so whatever. I am a glutton for punishment, I just did it to a 30hp as well. It breaks up the standard rebuilds for me too.

How do you remove the just left and right clamp brackets off the super
@25hpboatracerman2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, You need to undo the nut on the pivot tube and also any brackets that tie the two clamp brackets together then they just slide off. cheers 🍻
