I don't care what level mechanic you are, this man's entertainment videos will show you something that our civilization has traded for currency... Pride, honesty, and integrity in the work that you do. ( hey, if you still need a camera person, my 66 GTO and my tent need a spot to exist, preferably away from people who would sell a 300 pound vacuum to an 80 year old widow knowing that she can't even lift it out of the box) Please keep being you, for your kind is more rare than a 63 Studebaker Avanti with rust free hog trough.

I’ve got a 1997 civic in need of rear brakes, it’s probably pretty close. Thanks for this video

This is why we recommend regular brake services. Stops things from seizing in place

Rear bracket screws are torqued to 80ft-lbs. It used to be 55 ft-lbs for the older gens.

@@ken7031the rears are 80 as well. The service manual does not differentiate between models for the rear brakes. It makes sense tho, the front brakes and rear brakes use the same size screw (17mm) for the bracket screws on this generation. On previous gen’s, the front and rear brakes used different screw sizes for the bracket screws. That’s why the rear brakes used a lower torque value for the bracket screws on the older gen’s.

@@ken7031 you can google it too and find confusion on forums. Look at the leaked Honda manuals for yourself. The diagrams do not differentiate between models for the REAR BRAKES.

@@ken7031for example, on my 2006 civic ex, the fronts used 17mm. And the rears used 14mm bracket screws. The fronts were torqued to 80, and the rears were torqued to 54. On the new gens, both front and rears calipers use 17mm screws for the brackets onto the knuckle. So both fronts and rears are torqued to 80.
