Crocodiles are very intelligent animals and have an amazing ability to work out patterns and routines of their prey. The scariest thing about this is that Maximo probably spends his days observing the routines and the behaviour of his keepers and the guests, judging the distance between the water and the walkway, trying to work out how much speed he would need to exit the water and reach one of those arms hanging over the barricade. Basically just biding his time waiting for someone to make a mistake that he can take advantage of.

Nah, your forgetting that they're opportunistic, don't need much food, and hate doing more work than they need to. It would be stupid to waste energy trying to jump and grab an arm when you know you'll be fed later anyway and don't have to do any work for that food. Why make more work for yourself?

1:06 That *clomp* you hear is the sound of eighty million years' worth of existence coming together at once Edit: Apparently the sound is actually air popping from the crocodile opening its jaws. And the reason I said 80 million years is because that's when *true* crocodilians in their recognizable modern forms first appeared. Their direct ancestors have indeed been around since the Early Triassic but it wasn't until much later did they evolve into the shapes we know today. Edit 2: I cannot believe this comment is still attracting argumentative neurotic weirdos. Get a hold of yourselves

Actually Crocs in zoos, or facilities need to be trained. They are trained to respond to their respective names, and are also trained to understand basic commands, such as hold and come here. This is done to ensure that when the maintenance guys go to clean the enclosure the crocs don't go near them expecting food. It is also done to ensure the safety of the feeding team. A croc which is not trained can posses serious danger to staff.
