This song should be much more famous than it is. Such a great song.
@squiremuldoon54625 жыл бұрын
No, fame does nothing for great songs, it just ruins them.
@jonathonrose51414 жыл бұрын
@@squiremuldoon5462 That's the kind of nonsense that makes "fans" hope that "their" band never makes it big because they think they'll lose their specialness for liking them. It's pathetic. Fame of a song doesn't change a damn thing. You really think "The Sound of Silence" is ruined because its famous? What fame does do is give the artist a shot at making a comfortable living, and being able to keep making music without wondering if the next album will be their last because they can't afford to keep losing money making albums when hardly anyone buys them anymore.
@jonathonrose51413 жыл бұрын
All while having a say in what the artists make. They sure as hell won't do that for someone who doesn't toe the line, or suggest something they don't like. And for 16HP that would certainly include doing away with all the religious content that makes David who he is.
@jesseheritage91043 жыл бұрын
And why's that? Sure, I love this song and band as well as Wovenhand. But why SHOULD it be more famous. Should people think like you or should this band be artificially pumped up through millions of dollars like the shit bands that are? Or do you just say that because you want the world to reflect your ego?

I saw them live in LA @ The Troubador in '96 but didn't know anything about them. They opened with "I Seen What I Saw" and they blew everyone in the audience away. 3 guys on stage with some crazy instruments, some even homemade by the band; they were completely mesmerizing and hypnotic. The entire audience was captivated and it felt like we were in some 1920's deep southern church revival tent. His voice still gives me goosebumps - that combined with powerful biblical references and superior musicianship made this one of the best shows I have ever seen live. Still a huge fan today!

I saw them in Mpls. Minnesota in 96 too. Everyone in the room was in a trance from their hypnotic music .

Exact same experience for me I saw them in Louisville Kentucky at the Palace theater opening for Bob Weir's band rat dog I think it was 1998 but I don't really remember what year it was but it was the same exact thing they opened up and it was like what the hell is this this is badass. And I happen to have a friend who is the head of audio at the Palace theater and he made up sound board recording of the whole show and so I got to enjo🎉y it long after and I'm still listening to it these guys are awesome.

16 horsepower was one of the most misunderstood bands of the 90s. Definitely one of the most talented musicians of our time. I started using a violin bow on my guitar after seeing David do it in one of his songs.

Music is a gift from God.. I like Johnny Cash- his cover of nin's Hurt gets me everytime I hear it. Tool, Metallica, Silversun Pickups, rank at the top of the list. 16horsepower and Wovenhand are my favorites- my son told me about them, what's it been 10 years ago now..somethin like that.. no matter, time as we know it is messed up.. I've been reading Job again, and I recognized several phrases sung by Mr Edwards- they literally popped off the pages 😛.. Isaiah and the Psalms are referred to alot too! This song hits the nail on the head.. what these 2 bands have given us is convicting and comforting.. I am very grateful.🕊️🤍

The core principles of good and evil might elude some but this band let's you know right from wrong when it comes to doing this right . The other reason I like them is simple , they are the embodiment of old timey . Like rev. Glass eye and the wooden legs , real old timey like this is in it's own music genre OLD TIMEY 🙂👌
