Wow great tip on the zip installation at 1:38:30 or so. I'm definitely going to utilize that wisdom when attempting my own Annette! Thank you so much for the tutorial Lauren, I've had this pattern for a couple of years. Since Swoon gave us one freebie during lockdown. I haven't ever felt brave enough to try until seeing you tackling it! Wow! And the next tip about putting the lining rightside out in the exterior wrongside out is mind bending! Thank you!!! ♥

Hi lauren could ypu zig zag the outer stich on the pocket to the side
@dragonflyslair50605 жыл бұрын
Hi Lauren, Maybe you could try an alcohol ink pen and go around the edges of your tabs before applying the trim. That way you will hide any of the white that is showing from the cut side of the tab.

Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. I wonder if you would mind explaining what the reason is for the 5 feet on the bottom of the bag versus 4. I have never seen that done before and just wanted to know.
@LaurenMormino6 жыл бұрын
I sell them in packs of 5 And the middle of the bag usually tends to fill up fast. So having the 4 will protect the sides but the 5th protects the center! :)

thank you so much for making this video and really showing our inpovisions. i o have a question, the pattern does have a list of materials to use on the bag like what kind of lining to use an so forth. i want to know if i can use regular fabic with a pattern i like and use a purticular lining to stiffen it. would like to hear your thoughts on that or if its not possible. appreciate your time and its for the bag that your showing here
@LaurenMormino5 жыл бұрын
You can use regular fabric for any parts of the bag but you’ll want to follow the recommended interfacing. You can use waterproof canvas to help stiffen the bag but it does not eliminate the need fo interfacing
@lizthibodeaux24965 жыл бұрын
The stapling tip is amazing! I love, love, love your videos! It looks like you stitched the main lining to the bottom lining at 1/2” SA. I am using the same lining fabric as you do in the video, but I used a 5/8” seam allowance in this area. Unfortunately, I cannot get the side linings to match up unless I do an easing stitch or make the pattern shorter. I have about 1/2” excess at the bottom. I will shorten the side lining pattern by 1/2” and test it on a sample fabric today. 🤗

another question, i understand that the u shape across the bag is flimsy would you have another way to enforce it instead of changing it that is to say i think the changes to the bag is much better and it even looks better i was just curious.
@LaurenMormino5 жыл бұрын
You can add some interfacing to it :)
@Designsbyizzi4 жыл бұрын
I am that you have a tutorial on this bag. Thank you so much! I have question about the Interfacing. I was thinking about decovil heavy for the bottom, is it gonna work? And I don't have decovil light for the side ,what would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
@LaurenMormino4 жыл бұрын
Yes decovil heavy for bottom is great. You could just use foam in the sides too

I’m late to the game here but I seen someone else make this bag in a FB Group, so I had to search for a LM Video on it. I love this bag! I already have the Pandora by Shamballa. They are super similar but this one is built slightly different, a slight bigger & has the outside pockets on sides. But they are the same shape & fairly close to the same size. My Q is, should I buy this pattern to make this bag or should I just print the Pandora at like 110% and try to add the side pockets by using the pattern gusset & just cut them to pocket size? I’m so conflicted on what I should do 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️☺️
@LaurenMormino4 жыл бұрын
I think the Pandora is so similar you would be fine to at least try that!
@jessicamarsh97794 жыл бұрын
@@LaurenMormino Okay. I’m gonna give that a try then. They are super close. I do like how the gusset on the Pandora wraps all the way around the panels instead of having a bottom then two side gussets. It’s just a bit smoother putting it together. Everything else seems to be fairly close as far as putting it together.
