I am glad you stopped at the Avery plaque. He was a giant in his dedication to the AT.❤️

Love your content, but really wanted to thank you for the LMNT code! It has honestly been the only thing that has helped with my chronic headaches/migraines, especially while hiking. Very appreciative that you work with them and pass on the savings to your followers! I haven't packed up the courage to try the lemon habanero or the mango chili yet, but all the other flavors are so good!

Looked like a Weasel crossed your path a 6:41-6:42...its a split second, but you didn't seem to noticed it jump the rocks. Did anyone else catch that? Beautiful hostel!

I am glad you got your appetite back and got some TLC at the Hostel of Maine. Hooray! That Myron Avery Peak was amazing. Wow. I imagine it was cold, too, but wow. You are definitely powering through - doing wonderfully! Thank you for bringing us along. So fun to discover that pond.... and revisit a spot you didn't get to see clearly last time. Well done!

On my 2019 thru-hike I took a zero there. A great place for that. There is or at least was an little Italian place an easy walk down the road. I hadn't had much pasta on the trail so it was nice to chow down on some spaghetti with meat sauce and appetizer a couple breadsticks, dessert and a glass of wine there.

Next hostel on my list. The Bigelows will always be special because I finished my 67 on them. Congrats on a great day.

Wow, SOBO for a day...neat area. That above-tree-line habitat near Avery Peak is unbelievably beautiful! I was fortunate to hike that on a day hike from Flagstaff Lake (side trail up to the AT).

Great video and a wonderful hike. A reasonable day trip for us (we live 2.5 hours south). We think of the Fire Warden's Trail to Horns Pond Trail lollipop (including Avery) as the "Franconia Ridge Loop" of Maine.

I love you and your content. Been watching for years. But I can’t express enough how much I do NOT want to try LMNT. It has nothing to do with you. But it’s pretty frustrating not being able to watch one single KZbinr I love without them slinging that stuff. They have bombarded KZbin with their sponsorships and it’s put a sour taste in my mouth for the product. Anyway. Rant over. I’m glad you got a great view today and I’m super glad you’re going to have a safe place to ride out the hurricane. I hope your feet feel better when you come back out.

Pro tip that's probably a bit obvious for experienced hikers, but maybe not for noobs: if you're feeling dehydrated and you don't have access to any drink mixes or run out of your electrolyte powdered mixes, get some *plain* Fritos at the truck stop, gas station, or deli. When you camel up and take a break to drink water, eat the Fritos for a snack. This will help replace your sodium. Don't get the flavoured, spicy, chili Fritos, just get the plain ones. Why? Because the plain Fritos have only two or three ingredients and aren't loaded with additives and food colouring.

You crushed the Bigelows and had amazing views! I agree, it's not night hiking if you don't put your headlamp on. 😂 Hope your feet recover well. ✌️

I have found that a high-powered bicycle headlight that uses LED works even better than a headlamp for night hiking. The only con is that they lose charge rather quickly.

They are called Shokz. I have a pair, and I love them, especially for hiking or driving they stay secure. Plus, added bonus, you can still hear the birds and noises of the woods or traffic.

In the vlog intro it says The Bigelows. I just want to know if that is your handwriting or is it a special font you found on-line or in a video editor of some sort.

Yeah, the Hostel of Maine is nice, but so is the price. The rates for your average hiker is outrageous. In 2018 a room was going for $120.

This is so sad! I wish he would’ve started at 8-9 mile days and built himself up a bit. Don’t lose hope, Chris! You didn’t learn that a thru hike might be too much for you. You learned that you need to start slowly. You can do this!
