Love your vlogs chatting with new arrivals and listening to their experiences Ross. As a born and bred Aussie it's interesting to hear their perspective and challenges. I live in Brisbane, so I'm not moving anywhere hahaha We should organise a golf day.

Do you have a specific place (location) in mind? Remember 29% of people and 50% also have one parent who were born overseas. All you have to do is ask here as most people understand and will offer help! NSW in Oz

I'd personally say St Kilda is still the number 1 place I recommend for young travels to stay in Melbourne. At least for part of the time or at least in summer ...

I was watching an older video of yours when you mentioned going out and being in great scenery in the Glasshouse Mountains area. Well, did you know about the Gold Coast Hinterland? Tambourine Mountain, and Hinze Dam to name a few. Check it out.

Great advice from Sam - never move somewhere because you think a new environment will ‘cure’ you. Guess what, that new place will still have that common denominator - YOU! Make sure you’re on an even keel, always.

G’Day. I just saw your vid of homes in Newcastle. I used to sell Real Estate in Brisbane back in 1980/84 and the Vietnamese were just arriving. They qualified for the ‘First home owner’s grant’. Around $12,000 back then. It’s now $30,000. (Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick). Do new migrants just arriving qualify nowadays? I’ll let you research that. Like watching your videos. I’m in Perth currently. Came out from Wimbledon 1974.

@@maverick7323 It all depends on your situation, your weather preferences, and family situation. In Perth we don’t sweat under our armpits in summer time. Dry heat. We also have long stretches of months without rain. Think of the isolation if you leave family behind. You need to come here for a holiday before you make up your mind. I’m planning on moving to the Gold Coast in a year or so.

Dare to dream and picture it daily, it's your life journey and your children's future! Something truly worth having is worth working hard for! Practice "please be happy for us", "you can always come and visit" to your friends and family! Yes, do meet your neighbours! 🤗

I came out in 2000 ... we had the big presentations in the uk from the migration agent and they charged about 9k .. we got the forms from the AU embassy and the form had an agent listed so we went through her. She charged 500 pounds and the AU embassy about the same ... she helped review the forms and gave us a nudge to get stuff done. We put all our stuff on a boat and flew out, we had never been to AU before. The big regret was finding a box of rubbish i was going to put in the bin in the uk that turned up in the container ..... my advice is get a financial advisor to help bring the pension over to your super .. and learn about tax returns ... when we arrived it felt like hanging on to your money was a full time job

I find English people usually hang out with English people. I dont have any English friends and I'm 3rd generation Australian (Irish, English, Scottish, French ancestors) . I have found the English to be very cliquy even with their 1st and 2nd generation children. I still love you guys but I acknowledge your superior intelligence and national and social status...

This video is titled don't move to St kilda all the young couples here are conservative and St kilda is just the wrong lifestyle choice for them it's a bohemian style of suburb that attracts a lot of artists young hipster types your better off choosing the central coast or somewhere in Queensland to be around like minded young people like yourself where as young artists types from the UK would find a place like St kilda is perfect for them

It’s a bay not the open sea. It’s warm in summer cold in winter. Strange same as anywhere else that has 4 Seasons.
@barnowl.7 ай бұрын
St Kilda is a BAY beach - on the huge Port Phillip Bay and near to the city. The water is calmer and very suitable for children and many water sports. If you want waves you go to the open sea beaches on the other sides of the two BAY entrance peninsulas not far away. That's what my son did for surfing. St. Kilda is a tourist mecca. My daughter lived there for years and loved it ! She only moved because her mother (me) lived on the other side of the BAY and she needed close-by childcare from myself. As for the weather, Melbourne does have four seasons but winter is not as harsh in the colder months as in the UK but the summers can be very hot. Even in winter we have blue skies.
