As an INFJ, I thought my ideal partner would be someone who could talk for hours about the philosophical, who always wanted to spend time with me, and who was super romantic and charming. Instead, it’s someone who keeps me grounded and living in the present moment (but who still entertains my inquiries), someone extremely independent, and someone who is willing to work on our relationship, emote his feelings, and compromise. I’m an ENTP and that’s basically what I want 🤷🏻♀️ someone who will talk in concepts and big ideas with me for hours, but would also be happy to spend time w/me just reading in the same room without talking. I think the misconceptions about entps is that they’re the anti- INxJs. NO. We may operate in different ways but we are soooo desperate to be engaged by someone willing to take the deep dives on stuff and who has strong principles/opinions. Our issue is the world is primarily made of sensors/feeling types, so they’re not usually interested in most of the stuff that makes us come alive. Don’t get me wrong, we need their help to plan out our big ideas and keep us from brainstorming forever. But I think a lot of the difficulty associated w/entps is because we’re pretty rare and the majority of our world is operating on a whole other frequency and doesn’t care to tune in.

As an INFJ female I agree. But there is a personality type which definately isn't INFJ but weirdly works (still no clue which one thou....I'm guessing ENFP but I could be wrong about that). I seem to attract them and its so weird but might be healthy for us INFJ's. Haven't gotten myself to date one yet cause they also scare the cr@p out of me. Thats not gonna end well. You know the type....its either the best thing or the worst...yeah not gonna risk that. * we are introvert and that type wants to put us centre stage. On the one hand having someone coach you out from hiding might be healthy. On the other hand, all eyes on me out of the blue freaks me out. "Ohh please someone kill me now, make it stop"...:turning as red as a tomato: They are non stop going "behold my INFJ". Like they found a hidden gem they want to expose to the world. Yeah I like to remain hidden thank you very much. * the INFJ has layers. Not many people get to meet our core layer. But I met people that without me saying anything basically rip my layers off and go "nice core ya got there". 😳🙈🙉🙊 Thats scaring the h€ll out of me. Don't know how they do it, they seem to understand me on a deeper level. But as an INFJ I am used to my inner core being private. To have someone IN PUBLIC poke at my core makes me feel emotionally naked in public. But on the other hand, they seem to see me more clearly than most people in life. I feel understood in a scary sorta way. * their inner child is alive and kicking....well its not an inner child...its out definately out. I'm talking Peter Pan syndrome here. But as an INFJ my inner child is alive and kicking too....at home or with close friends in a safe space. But that personality type brings out my inner child in public. We INFJ's should relax and play more.....might be healthy for us. Be less in our heads and have more fun in the moment. They are non stop trying to get your attention in child like ways. You try to be serious at the office and all of a sudden someone demands your attention like a 4 year old. Like being serious at the office but there is a circus clown sitting next to you.🤡 "You have got to be freakin kidding me".🤦♀️You try not to laugh cause it will only encourage them but you can't help but laugh about this giant goofy weirdo. Their childlike optimism and relaxed nature is great when this infj gets low on energy from all the negativity in the world we see clearly but the rest of the population is clueless about. The INFJ weaknesses we face...they somehow work well to prevent us from falling into our pitfalls. It might be a healthy combination.....or they will drive us completely bonkers. Untill now I've been able to stay away from that one....but its tempting.
@zen9er3 жыл бұрын
@@maaiker2977 that's because a spectrum of enfps feel and think the same way as complicated and layered as infjs do and understand alot of things intuitively too but we don't necessarily sit in a dark hole feeling like aliens. We have no choice but to wear our hearts on our sleeves due to nature even though we get misunderstood, laughed at, and shot down by people alot. But still we get up and do our thing and hope for the best. Infjs and Enfps are similar in all sense except one is the parent who secretly wants to play and one is the child who wants someone they respect to play with
@maaiker29773 жыл бұрын
@@zen9er exactly. My co-workers joked about a peter pan syndrome. And I used to joke "well every peter pan deserves his wendy". But I don't date them cause a parent-child dynamic in a relationship might not be good in the long run. Sooner or later the INFJ will bore/nag the ENFP.
@zen9er3 жыл бұрын
@@maaiker2977 that is true. I do actually feel quite stifled by an infj from all the tasks they bogged themselves with constantly and can't seem to just "be". And I'm uncomfortable with that. But that's also cause I've found my own level of balance within my "wilderness" and the other party doesn't seem to want to communicate about touchy subjects like themselves, just like in this video, "describe themselves." It's as important to know oneself as to know other people in order to mature and while I acknowledge and respect their inclination to be responsible, it still takes communication to learn to understand and appreciate growth in that lacking area. So even though there's alot of natural chemistry between these 2, I guess it takes 2 mature ones who knows who they are and what they want to do all the rest of the work to overcome the uncomfortable differences. And they are uncomfortable only because growth can be painful :) So yes Peter Pan loves a Wendy and a Wendy loves a Peter Pan but only if they both understand the need to grow in each other's directions. Btw I'm probably the least well communicated enfp so sorry if you are already lost in the words above

I have to say, it is the easiest relationship I have ever had. It’s less about type and more about appreciating what the other has to offer. Do we annoy each other sometimes? Of course! That being said, we both have done a lot to grow and can focus more on how we balance each other. I know I can trust and depend on him. He trusts me, depends on me for other things. He needs someone to encourage him to play. You can make any two types work as long as you appreciate what the other has to offer.

Thats so sweet!..I wish you and your Istj a long happy life together! I also was with an istj for 9 years...I truly loved him and loved how responsible he was. They truly are amazing at being constantly dependable lol But he seemed to be a very unhealthy istj very narcissistic which led to us parting ways. He constantly cheated and eventually just left me for another women. But I low key still want my next partner to be an istj lol just a healthy one or maybe and isfj

im an enfp who likes an istj. hes like me but not, yk. we can enjoy the same things whilst having different opinions about it, it's quite a strange chemistry i have with him. idk what he thinks of me, i think he finds me weird but enjoys me enough to be my friend LOL i hope something between us works out in the future but yk, whatever happens, im glad i have a dude like him in my life. it's nice to have someone who works inside the box when u always work outside of the box.

Just hunt down another Infj. That's our ideal partner: someone compatible that can understand us. And since no one can understand us, except for us, well, it's pretty clear to me.
@rickrivers20213 жыл бұрын
@@quirogatnonerrat3214 It's not uncommon for INFJs to not understand themselves, as humorously portrayed in the video. So another INFJ could just as easily result in two people that don't understand themselves. It's better to find someone who helps grow your own self-awareness and self-esteem, and that can just as easily happen with someone very different as with someone very similar.
@quirogatnonerrat32143 жыл бұрын
@@rickrivers2021 oddly enough, I am an Infj with an Infj partner and I can confirm: he is my ideal partner. Better than I could have ever imagined. For example I don't even have to say out loud what I want to say and he already knows what I want to say. We are never at each others throats, but discuss issues like mature responsible people. It is perfection in my eyes. So idk what you are talking about.
@rickrivers20213 жыл бұрын
@@quirogatnonerrat3214 I'm saying that it's no more likely to work than any other pairing, not that it isn't likely to work. If an INFJ is looking for someone to understand them, they have to also understand themselves. A lot of them do, but a lot don't. Having the same type does not always result in the interaction you described. It has for you, and that's great. But it shouldn't be recommended that INFJs prioritize looking for other INFJs because the assumptions on it's success, like the assumptions on any pairing's success, are too hastily taken for granted. Also, you can understand someone who thinks very differently than you just as you can understand some who thinks very similarly. In the latter instance, understanding comes from comparison, while in the former it comes from contrast. Neither is more or less effective, it depends on the unique individuals involved. The types of the individual people I've understood the most in my life have been an INFP and ENTJ. I'm INTP.
