Yes, I agree. Mine are so detailed and feel like real life to the point that I’ve referenced them to people (who of course don’t know what I’m talking about). If the dream involved a conversation, it tends to go almost exactly the same way as my dream. It’s really creepy and it used to be a so much more worse when I took Ambien because they felt like actual hallucinations.

INFP here. Recently had a dream where I was a vampire in some sort of battle royale with other vampires in an old mansion. I found a kid about 11 trapped in the mansion (not a vampire) and decided to look after him for the rest of the contest. I barricaded us in one of the bedrooms, but this other pair still managed to break through, so I hid the kid under the bed and bribed the two vampires into leaving with a pair of earrings. Those earrings were magic and had somehow bonded to me so anyone wearing them would have access to the entire complexity of my personhood and the vampire who put them on ran away in terror. Same night, different dream: I was on a school trip and left my backpack in a cafe. I told a teacher I needed to get it, but instead of letting me leave, she forced me to silently read a children's book that just kept getting longer.

​@@V_1.14cool, can you explain this dream: I was standing in a neatly organised space with wide paths of cobblestone, some pillars, some greenery. There was a tall man dressed in black whose face I couldn't see and a gorilla who was dumb and was also Einstein. The gorilla/Einstein came from Australia and I was helping him get to Austria. We came to a cliff and the Einstein gorilla let me climb down on a rusty rope he held. It was shaking a lot and seemed to be about to tear, but I ended up safely getting to Austria - which was just the whole bunch of sea, and it was quite warm actually. The other two also got there at some point and at the end we were all swimming.

As an INTJ, I have recurring dreams about some really strange places (like an abandoned swimming pool, a big shop full of exotic food or a pavilion with sphinx sculptures) and occasionally weird visuals (like I'm rowing in a boat vertically?). But my weirdest dreams involve writing texts and poems, and sometimes they even make some sense when I wake up.

@@einahsirro1488 Me too! The maze one would be more of a nightmare in which I find a way to scale the wall to walk on top. Or simply sprout wings and brandish a magic sword cus I know it's a dream so I can make anything I want happen in response. Ever since I was a teen and learned about how to preset yourself to be able to have some control of sorts in your dreams should they go sideways, I have been practicing that.

As an INTP, I’ve never dreamt of mazes before, although I would probably play that game if I found it. Most of my dreams are quite interesting, and I usually have multiple dreams that kind of merge together to make one big adventure. It’s fun, with crazy plots that make complete sense until I wake up and realize they don’t. but I usually forget them after being awake for a few hours or so anyway. Also it’s rare that I consciously remember my dreams.

As an INTP, I have a frustrating pattern. My dream will try to come up with something compelling, but if I start to poke holes in it, it falls apart. There are degrees of lucidity - when I go full lucid, I'm about to have a blast. But when I'm about 25% lucid, it's a frustrating endeavor where my unconscious mind tries and fails to give me a compelling story that's cohesive. But there are rare times when it actually does manage to construct something beautiful for me.

HAHAHAHAH OMG I’m not the only one who critiques my own dreams mid-dream for plot holes, canon problems, and bad physics!! I distinctly remember one where a black hole was sucking up everything in sight and I just go, “That is NOT how black holes work; they’re not giant vacuum cleaners!!” (If you’re outside the event horizon you can orbit it like any normal object.) And I’m an INFP. Wonder if it’s an Ne thing to do that??

INFP raised by wolves (Te-doms) here! The ISFP dream is the kind of thing I get if I am VERY lucky, usually involving cats. But yeah, I absolutely have multiple dreams a night, and sometimes remembering them all. And don’t forget the daydreams or once in a while the nap dream too! Some are stupid but sometimes I get some AMAZINGLY detailed ones with awesome plot lines. From what I’ve heard from my ESTJ mom, there’s a lot more worrying about real life stuff going wrong, than fun dreams like that. I can understand seeing as I have the same functions and there is definitely a ball of insecurity there. My ENTJ dad doesn’t remember his dreams (which IMO is super sad) but I could easily hear him saying, “It was in my way,” with no further justification needed.

I wrote and studied my dreams, the science of dreams, and interpreting dreams, for about 20 years before I finally understood. It explains both what scientists and dream interpreters tell us. The truth is, our dreams are combinations of things we've seen, felt, or imagined during our waking life. All the emotions are emotions you actually felt that day or week. Everything else is just stuff you saw, sensed, or imagined, even subconsciously, throughout the day, but if you want to use them as symbols to help you know how to act on the emotions in the dream, go ahead! The key to interpreting dreams is asking: when did I feel that exact emotion that I felt in my dream (not what I SHOULD have felt in that situation, but what I actually felt) in real life? Boom! You got it! So yes, there are correlations. People who daydream and think weird stuff more will get weirder dreams, for example.

The problem is sometimes the movies suck lol. Like for example, I remember one dream I had where this Nancy Drew character and her younger sidekick was investigating the death of a murdered cop named Grimlin. It turned out that he was killed by another cop named, and I’m not making this up, Obvious. I distinctly remember the line from when she figured it out was “oh my gosh, Obvious murdered Grimlin. I don’t think he’s allowed to do that.” Which would be the worst line of dialogue I had ever heard in a movie. FWIW, as soon as she figured that out, Obvious broke into her house along with his complicit partner, but the rest of the police showed up quickly enough to arrest them

I'm enfj too and same. I rarely dream at all but when I do it's mostly some completely random weird stuff that somehow has still a logical and cohesive storyline (at least in the dreams) and about half of the time i'm either not in the dream or just watching from the sidelines. Other times the dream revolves around people I know in rl. It's hard to describe them tho because I have a hard time remembering the details of dreams I mostly just remember the general story. I've also only once in my life had an actual nightmare, idk if that's personality specific or just smt unrelated but people are always surprised when I tell them.

I don't usually do tactical action heroes. Could have to do with being an old lady. But often in difficult circumstances where I save people, or escape in amazing ways (like escaping a bomb blast on a flying piece of plywood, with all my dogs), something exciting. Or maybe I'm the only one who knows we're lining up to go to a death camp instead of the convention center, and I'm trying to figure out how to stop it. A common one is to find myself in some weird big house with a bunch of people scattered all through it who I'm supposed to socialize with, but everything is strange and I keep dealing with weird people and trying to get out. I would call this a nightmare.

Supposedly our dreams are the mind thinking in symbols. So if you're dreaming about water, that's a symbol to us. That represents feelings and patterns and experiences. Or if you dream that you're turning into an animal, the type of animal is probably some kind of symbolic representation. Like a crab has a different symbolic meaning to us than a leopard.

To me it's often just a jumbled mess of impressions I've recieved during the day... Unless it's a nightmare, then it returns to one of a handful different themes, all incredibly stressful.

INFJ here. The INTJ is pretty accurate for me only that I'm usually also the public enemy so there is a lot of running and sometime flying involved. I guess there is a little of the 'I'm the chosen one' mentality in me but in a twisted way.^^

Most people would refer to me as an ENFP or ENFJ. My dreams often include me as a main character with a team, trying to save the world or something important. It could be starting a non-profit, helping a starving town, protecting a disabled person from super villains, fighting a bad guy with some other heros, or helping people who don't know they're imprisoned to rise up in rebellion. I also have other weird dreams. Ever seen Dumbledore and Hagrid playing a videogame and role playing as each other? Lots of other stories. Guess Ill say them in the comments for those who want more, for fun! 😊

Weirdest dream to TELL: married Gollum. It was not my choice. He had a sword and trapped me in a cave. Weird villain things going on where I keep having romances with the villains from movies. Only one was pleasant and reciprocated. I was an evil scientist imprisoned in a cell that constantly drove around the country so I wouldn't die of boredom. I found out I invented prison-like cells for disadvantaged kids in schools. I tried to help some escape but only could save a few. We moved to Canada. I married some old bald Middle Eastern guy, then realized I was in love with a guy I had a crush on in real life back then, who was my age, my religion, and has lush dark hair. I went to a college party that made it so you could fly, but you weren't supposed to be allowed to leave, but I left so the witches running the party mind controlled everyone to catch me. A social media savvy girl proclaimed me to be the leader of the uprising and made viral videos for it by pushing my face in a muddy, maggot-filled fountain and not letting me breath for a long time. 3 witches kidnapped kids and put them in lockers under a mountain, with a mind controlled teen to watch them. I saw the witches while on a scooter track at the mall. They almost killed me, but then I converted them to the gospel. I was a girl named Sofia. I was perfect and everyone loved me, especially my brother. Then I died and got reincarnated as my actual self, and I wasn't perfect, and my brother thought I was annoying. ☹️ I got chased by Dumbledore, who was trying to help me with trauma, but I didn't want to face my feelings, so I ran. We ended up in a world like Lord of the Rings but if you ate something, you couldn't leave, so I ate something to stay away from Dumbledore, but then I found out that staying forced you to play their world like a videogame, and there were a bunch of stupid missions I didn't care about. I went to Dumbledore for help. Some dreams I don't remember without looking at my records: I was an orphan. Then I found out my dad was an alien and an inventor. He showed me the big bang and said we are supposed to protect the thing that let people see it. I had to escape from some evil aliens, and time kept reversing so I had another chance to succeed. My school had a holodeck that felt real. We all pretended to be heroes and played hide and seek. We had fun but felt stuck there and wondered when we would leave. Then everyone left or died of old age, until I was lonely and only had one friend left. I showed her that you could jump off something high and then stop yourself with your mind before you hit the ground. It felt so real. If you breathed underwater, you could feel the cold water rush into your nostrils. I went back in time to fix something but accidentally made it a horrible, dark world. Some other time travelers stopped me. I gave some little pass-along cards about my Church to a time traveler and asked him to give it to people who would benefit from it. He did, and I was very happy at all the happiness I saw in people who had been changed. A bad guy tried to hurt me and my family who had powers. They turned my sister’s candy shop into a broccoli shop. Then they kidnapped our favorite family member, who didn't have powers. I found where they had him and wrestled a bad guy until he turned into a bag of chips. I filled the chip bag with vinegar, and it fizzed, so I knew the chips had baking soda and that the bad guy wouldn't keep chasing us. But then some good guys became evil, so I teleported us to a small fishing village in Alaska. They'd never find us there! I went to a small hole-in-the-wall museum that happened to have stuff from one of my ancestors, but when I touched it, a guard attacked me. Then he touched something in the museum while trying to catch me and decided to stop attacking me or he’d have to attack himself. I got to own the museum and made a new job for the guard. The guard said he didn't know who his mom was. Had the dream continued, we would have worked to figure it out. I went through an evil boy scout program that was actually meant to improve you to be good. It involved videos and a dark amusement park. One of the park rides was one where we became eggs with arms and legs and were shaken to be cracked. The shaking was done "with the skill of a 5 year old," which was not very much. In the end I learned how to do things perfectly so I wouldn't get cracked. As I'm looking at other dreams, I'll go ahead and say there’s a lot of chasing, fainting, mind control, uprisings, heroism, super powers, fighting, aliens, space travel, orphans, and time travel.

I'm an ENFP and I do this, as well. If I recognize I'm dreaming and I don't like it, I change the dream. I once had a dream that a person with a failed parachute hit the ground in a field in front of me. When I approached the person to see if they were even remotely alive, their body was charred, so they had been dead before hitting the ground. When I looked up from the person and scanned the field, a huge bear was on its hind legs, snarling at me. I began to run and booked it for a nearby building. Once inside, I slammed the door shut, but there was only a screen door on the building. Knowing it wasn't secure, I looked back at the bear to see how close it had gotten, but a ravenous wolf was in its place and continuing to pursue me. At that point, I realized it was a dream, so I imagined that the wolf was a cuddly puppy. After it transformed into a harmless, cute little pooch, I woke up. I've had similar moments in dreams where I imagine bullets shooting at me suddenly drop to the ground. Or, I will realize there is something terrifying in my dream and I know I'm dreaming, so I run to the nearest bed in the dream. I close my eyes and then will myself awake. Often, I wake up in the dream, but am still dreaming. So, I will myself awake, again. This continues until I am finally fully awake. I know I'm actually awake once I can reach over to my INTJ husband and actually feel his warm arm under my hand. It's typically nightmares that I find myself intentionally changing. My good dreams, I just let play out.

My dreams are pretty normal. They are all about my daily normal life. The are like my Fi function. They show me exactly what I desire and in some nightmares what I am scared of. They show me MY own emotions that I know I have but find it useless because Fe is my 2nd function. All of them are so livid and I end up mixing my dreams with reality. For example if I dream of an incident I would beleive it happened in real life. So everytime I wake up and get flashing memories I immediately tell myself again and again that its a dream not reality. But if you talking about the fantasy world amd stuff I daydream that just to write a story 😂. -infj

I only remember my nightmares. Luckily I rarely have nightmares but they're creepier than any shit I've seen in movies. Like being locked in a shipping container and dumped overboard in the ocean. Feeling my legs breaking from the fall from the ship and then the steel cage dragging me down into freezing water as it fills up. Cold water enveloping my head as I try to swim through the pain but the air pocket goes out. Holding my breath until it gets painful, pounding on the walls, swimming to the door jam to force it open. Then letting little bits of air out until my lungs are empty. Finally my body takes that next breath but it's a lung full of water. It doesn't hurt at first and I feel relief. But then stabbing chest pains as my body reacts to the insufficient oxygen in water. I woke up when I'm still fighting but my body isn't responding anymore. I have vivid nightmares that live rent free in my head. -ESTP

INFP. With narcalypsy and cataplexy. Since I was a child I always had the most beautiful vivid Dream/nightmares. Flying by using a lunch tray to launch myself into the air. Breathing underwater By Kind of like by my teeth working like gills, Catching all the little air bubbles. Apparently in my dreams I'm a fresh water Being. Chased by T. Rex rescued by Indiana Jones. Going on an epic mission to rescue my younger siblings from garden Nomes. Getting stabbed by unicorn. I dreamed that I went down into my basement and climb through a window into this very Lush green magical land. That was full of waterfalls, mushrooms, Springy green grass That's soft and mossy. you know the general fantasy unicorn layout. There was a unicorn badly injured. I had a first aid kit and Help the hurt unicorn.. But when I was finished, Unicorn b showed up, Mistook me for the one who hurt the first unicorn, And stabbed me in The side of my lower back, With it's Horn. I ran back to the window to reality. Blood Running down my leg and pulling wherever I stepped. Leaving a trail of vibrant red contrasting to the vivid green. That was a beautiful and sad and I woke up sobbing. Reacting like I actually was stabbed. Thank goodness I made it to the window of reality before the unicorn got me again.

I'm an ENFP, as well. My dreams can also be very dark. If I recognize I'm dreaming and I don't like it, I change the dream. My good dreams, I just let play out. I also have a lot of dreams where I discover that I'm working at a job I used to hate and that I have a deadline coming up, but haven't even started because I didn't know I worked there again. Similarly, I will dream I'm in college and am two weeks before the end of the semester, but never did any of the work for the entire course, because I did not know I was enrolled. Due to it being so far into the semester, withdrawing from the course isn't an option, so then I have this mad dash scramble to complete an entire course in only two weeks. Or I have dreams where I am traveling somewhere with friends, but we end up separated and my luggage is lost and I'm wandering around alone in a country where nobody speaks English and I don't speak their language. I also can't read the maps, because I don't know the language. Or I have dreams where something really wonderful is about to happen... usually something I've been wanting and waiting for years to obtain or achieve... then, just before the fulfillment of that wonderful thing, I wake up. 😢 My dreams can be uber stressful. I don't usually remember the good ones.

I can’t even count how many types/ genre of dreams I’ve had but I’ve realize a reoccurring theme in my dream that I would have from time to time is that “I was the chosen one” or “the one who is supposed to save the world” or something similar and every time I will struggle to do that and then something bad happens or is about to happen and then I woke up feeling bad/sad/disappointed in myself. I’m not sure what these means but I do hope one day I can eventually dream that I managed to save the world or something similar 😂🤧😭
