I love this, ENFP. It's kind of like peace isn't really peace, because peace implies stability, stagnance. Stagnance is a lack of change, and a lack of change is going to cause restlessness, conflict, and eventual violence. Peace=violence. Peace in reality is a slight lack of peace.

Yepp. It's like "I failed. Ooooh, noooo! Big deal! Hahaha... Okay, what's next?" I mean, it does hurt to fail, but it's on us how long we dwell on it and how much we allow it to weigh us down. What weirds me out to no end is how sometimes others seem to be unable to accept how easily we can just accept failure or embarrassment and move on. They then make a bigger deal out of it, then we do and think we must be arrogant or emotionless for it, when we're just okay with the consequences of our actions. That's not a good way to live if people can't handle the way you would like to be treated and don't do to others what they wouldn't like. I live by, seek, and hold myself to such greater, intense, complex and sometimes even contradicting ways that requires myself to go through uncommon experiences, having the complete opposite perspective and beliefs than others, i want life to be difficult and full of suffering for what it produces and much more. Most people don't want to be treated or go through what i do. Most people love what i hate and hate what i love. Most people want what i see as garbage and they see as something to cherish. Honestly, i haven't met anyone who would even agree with even a quarter of what i want, believe, value, don't want, etc. So actually, there was a time i did what you say you go by, and that caused many problems. I thought as a child we're all humans, we all eat and do many similar activities, so surely we must think and feel the same, but no. I realized they need to be treated the way i don't want to be and they need to not be treated the way i do. This has helped me keep peace and get along with others. They're only going to come to even one of the ways i want to be treated once they experience a difficult life full of intense suffering that they would even be capable of truly understanding why i have such an uncommon way of living and being. For example, something as simple as saying you had a female manager who commanded you to clean the floor in the store and you say, "yes, ma'am!" But there's actually women out there who hate being treated that way. There are some who demand you call them by their name or just not even treat them with high respect. There's some who will become furious if you even clean the floor and respond saying "yes" but you don't say "ma'am." So if you were someone who wanted that respect, some others would dislike it much that you treat them the way you want to be treated. My spouse is an INFP, and she's realized i don't like to be treated the way she does, and what helps her actually damages myself most the time. If we treat everyone based on ourselves, we clearly don't get that not everyone lived, grew up or went through the same things. Experiences do take a high impact on how we will think, feel, want, hate, believe, etc. If one person has loving parents and lives in a rich house with a successful family who highly respects each other, but another person has hateful abusive parents doing meth and has nothing else going for them, these 2 people as children arent going to grow up wanting the same thing, at least not for quite awhile. In fact it could be the opposite. After all, there's 16 personalities here, do we all want the same thing and feel the same way and want to be treated the same? No. Like i remember a meme, ESFP: How can you be okay always being alone? INFP: How can you be okay always being with a lot of people?

@Slayer32643 жыл бұрын
What revenge does is provide satisfaction, and sometimes you also get to give an asshole what they deserve. Sometimes you're the asshole. It doesn't matter in either case, there's no karma. People only get what they deserve in the sense of how well they play the game. So, revenge is as valid a goal as any. How far you take it is entirely up to you. For me (also INTJ) it usually dissipates pretty quickly. But there are a few cases where eroding someone's happiness, even if your only option is to do it bit by tiny bit, just becomes part of your everyday routine. Love all the quotes, they are like the epitome, the essence of each type, represent them and their view about life, every type/person all has greatest qualities. Well, as an ISTJ, who stuck in Si-Fi loop and Ne grip in years and figured it out how to get up, "Mistakes are often the greatest teachers" is true for my past mistakes, faults, flaws that teaches me, grow me up. And now I healed, "The grass is greener where you water it" is about my future, my engineering major, how i have to start from scratch my own, to work restlessly, I want to be in that state of work and flow, where I can see results and meaning of my work.

Autistic INFP here. The quote is so relatable to me! Not many people can understand where I'm coming from most of the time, as if my thought process or things I like to do are alien to them. It's refreshing to know that just because something isn't understood, it doesn't mean it's got lesser validity. I think it was Marie Curie who quoted (roughly) "Nothing is to be feared, it is only to be understood.". Any other INFPs or Autists related to this quote too?

I relate so much as an ENTP to being "philosophically attached to uncertainty." As well as having the overwhelming urge to challenge anyone who states something with absolute certainty. I view open ended and/or paradoxical philosophical questions and paradigms as incredibly stimulating and part of what makes life so enjoyable for me.

I just loved listening to the ESTJ quotes. That's probably why I like working with them, they're absolutely no-nonsense people. However the first INFJ one doesn't ring so much true for me, I guess I'm just not that much of a super-empath, I very well empathise with someone else's feelings and thoughts but I also know which ones are mine and which are someone's. But the blurring of one's own and foreign feelings into one is something super-empaths are capable of. I agree with fear being the price of imagination - because we see the consequences far into the future, we can get scared of them, contrary to people who cannot foresee certain things (literally don't see it coming). But I don't think we're scared of our own thoughts, at least I am not. I think it has something to do with the detachment INFJs can display. We're scared of the negative things we foresee for the future (and unfortunately we're mostly right), not of that we have thought about it.

INFJ: Minimize movement through a correct understanding Sure, we are empaths, but the group often stresses us out, just as much as it stimulates. Empathy is worthless if the resources are scarce. Therefore managing and mastering the reality becomes a much higher priority than "just" feeling with others, which is where we are weak. If there is no problem, there is no problem to feel bad about.

as infj a quote i live by is the one i got from my late father; "if you choose to do something or act a certain way, you are responsible to bear the consequences or see it through. you don't get to complain mid-way." this kinda switch-on my "went all-in or nothing at all" kind of mindset. sometimes it's not good to be that way and i still struggle to find balance. but idk, i still hold on to that words. at least on the social 'playground' it's useful in a way that i do not act or say stuff willy-nilly.

Before I see what he says, I wanna say what I think to see if they compare. I’m INFP and I would say, probably my core life motto that I unconsciously live by is “everything is subjective.” That is to say, your life is your own, your perception is not as cut and dry as you may believe. Expect to be surprised, expect to be wrong, and expect to find that “wrong” does not concretely exist. Everyone gets to decide what that is for themselves.

I enjoy your videos more than any other Myers-Briggs personality-focused channel. You have a great grasp on the essential qualities of each personality and their cognitive functions... After watching many of your videos, I am convinced I am more of an ENTJ, rather than the type I usually test as, which is INTJ... I just enjoy your in-depth, logical, yet sensitive approach. You seem to have great insights into all types and present it in a way that is concise, understandable, and useful.

INFP here. I don't really have any life mottos, but one of my favourite quotes comes from "The Third Humanity: The Voice of the Earth", a book by Bernard Verber. It goes like this: "A mistake still remains a mistake, even if the majority is mistaken."

INTJ here (maybe a bit INTP, but still). Strongly agreed with the Nietzshe's quote - emptiness inside really demotivates, and the problem is how to fill this hole, how to find something proper, something worth dedicating your life to, when the life has so many occupations, with some of them beneficial and some of them not really. But the Newton's quote resonates with me weaker, as I presume THERE ARE methods to understand people and even to predict their behaviour, BUT that's not what I, as INTJ, would count as worth wasting my time for. People are dirty species, you know. Best to get rid of them. (That's a joke, ofc, but every joke has a part of joke.)

@@christophjanssen9324 well, I've said already it was a joke)) the point was that me, as INTJ, see little good in people, so I'm trying to avoid cooperation as much as it's possible (I know that full avoidance of human society is impossible for now). No murder, no genocide :D
@christophjanssen93243 жыл бұрын
@@mirriyastia Oh, that makes sense! So your goals aren't human/society related? @@christophjanssen9324 you see... it's hard for me to disagree with you on that point. As an INTP, something that I taught myself when I was feeling out of control was "life isn't an algorithm. We can't predict our future actions based on our past actions BECAUSE humans are unpredictable. We can and do change. We decide the outcome." And in the end we feel out of control because we can see ourselves doing the worst. We're all afraid of ourselves because we've given ourselves reason to be. But we aren't on loop.

The thought of it just gives me more anxiety. I just try to distract myself long enough for me to actually forget otherwise I’d go into a depressive cycle and I’d rather not go down that hole. I realize that’s not healthy but I’ve never been a very optimistic person and pessimism is my default state.I’m just trying not to go off the deep end here.😅
@swahamchakraborty79903 жыл бұрын
I do think that life has an algorithm. But as Alan Turing demonstrated, a machine within a machine cannot predict the total outcome. We are participants in the cosmic play, not detached observers (and indeed when you observe something you immediately have a relation to that thing), and so our actions do shape the development of the play. But that does not mean that the play does not have a script or variations of scripts - an INTP
As an INFP that did compromise my individuality to try to blend in with others, Nathans right, it was a mistake. Suffering from an identity crisis around the same time as my quarter life crisis was pure hell. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It's no wonder I became extra sensitive to criticism or "helpful life advice". I also developed a deep routed hatred for the phrase "I'm sorry you feel that way." My feelings were perfectly valid considering where my head was and what certain people were trying to fill it with. I spent so much time pushing my feelings aside to please others, just once, it was my turn to feel what was best for me. Hey so whenever I think about this sort of stuff, I start crying. Should I be worried about that? It's seriously not fun and can be really embarrassing if it happens during the day.
