Adding to INFJ thoughts.. “plastic waste, plastic waste, plastic waste... ugh, that’s gonna end up in the ocean killing an innocent animal”
@NejisMate
@NejisMate 5 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think there are more problems than just plastic waste. Every single product we buy, use, gift or otherwise acquire, needs to be created first and later, whether in the near of far future, disposed of. The plastic is part of the destruction process, but the creation process is often a lot mroe damaging and polluting. When we buy, for example, a slice of beef for lunch, we have to understand that that cow (if male and not veal) has lived around 4-5 years. Cows eat a lot more food than us (the world’s cattle alone consume a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people), this means we need a lot of land to plant this food for them to eat during those 4-5 years. Beef is the leading cause of deforestation and the second place, soy production, is 90% food for livestock. Needless to say, planting plants for food requires a lot of energy (energy which is rarely renewable), pesticides, fertiliser (which have also both been through harmful production processes themselves and often contaminate the soils and biodiversity) and water. Livestock nowadays also eat fish, despite the fact that fishing is the number one threat to oceans, causing the deaths not only of the fish we actually eat, but of staggering numbers of bycatch and fishing is causing a shortage of food for other marine animals. 46% of the Great Pacific garbage patch are fishing materials which kill billions of dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, dugongs, crocodiles, birds, crabs, etc. Then these foods for the cows need to be processed to become eatable and transported to the animals. Cows release a lot of methane, a gas 23 times worse than CO2, which makes agriculture responsible for 18% of the total greenhouse gases world-wide, more than all transport. Needless to say, that slice of beef we buy will also be packaged in plastic, which has been through a terrible environmental creation process, and will go through another terrible process once we throw it away. Our waste is a serious problem for the environment because it lets out more of that methane I mentioned, or it may be burned, shipped off to India to dump there or recycled: all of these processes cause pollution. Even if it's not specifically plastic: alluminium is terrible even though it is easily recyclable, paper packaging is another major deforestation issue, glass can be difficult to recycle, etc. I’ve used the meat industry as an example because it is one of the most polluting sectors and one of the things we consume the most, but the truth is anything we buy is likely bad for the environment. The number one thing we can do to save the planet is STOP BUYING THINGS. Stop eating meat (a plant-based diet is tremendously better for the environment); stop using plastics (zero waste may not be realistic for everyone, but the closer to cutting out all waste, the better); stop buying clothes we don’t need (clothes are often made with deforestation-related plant fibres or plastic, neither of which are good, there are often issues with how workers were treated in the factory and “fast fashion” is a serious problem becoming bigger by the day, buying second hand clothes is the best option), etc. I personally think that plastic waste is just one part of the problem!

That's more INTP on my view. INTJ would likely try to prove the theories they have in their head with the information they get with their short, but efficient, trip to the market. INTPs hate daily tasks, so they're usually "Grab this, fuck this. Now I'm gonna return home, research half an hour of quantum physics and do absolutely nothing for the rest of the day".

@@umcaraqualquer3640 Not sure what you mean by theories, unless it's relating the potential purchases to the grander plan of implementation (i.e. what ingredients I can pair with ingredients at home to make a proper meal). But there really isn't anything to "prove" here, it's more about the efficiency. INTJs aren't great with daily tasks either due to repressed Extroverted Sensing and Dominant Int- Intuition. Sensors are the best at tackling tasks without getting overwhelmed.

You got ENFP so right in this one 😂 "Dude, you don't garden" - "But I could, it's not that hard!", that's basically a conversation I have with my sister every time we go to a store 😂
@eb7446
@eb7446 5 жыл бұрын
My sister and I and both NFP's and we do this, but sort of like "Imagine if we had a garden, we could totally buy this OR we could build a cat patio! It's a whole lot of "what we could buy if we had this or that or needed this or that" lol. Or we'll see a keyboard and be like "hey if we bought one we could totally learn!". Our ISTJ mom has reigned us in a bit, training us all out lives. SO, we WANT to buy the things we don't need but there's mom in the back our heads telling us no, it is impractical, don't you do it". We do still do it, just not as much, However, occasionally we will buy something for our mom she doesn't need and would never buy herself and she appreciates it because, well, she'd never get it herself even if she really wants/liked it. So it works both ways sometimes.

I'm an INFP, consistently walk out of the store with less that five items, but I do get overexcited about all the things ENFP style. My roommate is so done with my shit after I walked her to the other side of the store the other day to show her an egg boiler. She started explaining why it's impractical and how we don't have the space for it and I'm like "Oh yeah, I know. We totally don't need it, but it's so neat."

Your INTJ was spot on. ENFP was probably accurate too. I think I am an INTP but I never really think about toys. I was just shopping today and I stood there for a long time trying to decide if I wanted an unboxed big screen TV on clearance, even though I never watch tv anymore. I decided against it, but the drawn out, circular process to get me to the decision was very INTP. Maybe next time you can do something like that.

LMAO, my mom is an ENFP. So trueee for her. She spends way too much money. I think the worst thing was introducing her to Costco. xD Generally it goes like this though: Her: "OMG I NEED THISSS!" INFJ here. I must say that you are surprisingly accurate with all your descriptions of an INFJ. You've got talent to act so on point. Did I mention consumerism is a problem in society and people are so absorbed in things they could have in a world they temporarily live in when they only have approximately 15% of their lifespan to spend enjoying the things they buy for themselves when they lose interest after roughly 1% of their lifespan following the purchase, and they fail to see the futility in their actions? (You're so on point lol) ^_^ #INFJThoughts
