As an ISTP I do notice the details... of everything. I just don't assign them any real importance. And yes, INFP may as well be aliens in my eyes. But the ones I know and love keep me more human and serve as emotional interpreters. Probably I'm the one who's the alien, which I'm ok with.

@@Rayzerow Hahah I see! Don't misinterpret my statement though. I myself also tend to like ISTPs very much in working environment because they are practical and simple in implementing things, unlike some of us INTJs that can be over-calculative sometimes. I wonder how they would be in a relationship setting because INTJs (or maybe just me idk) are kind of naive at these things so I wonder how it'll go with ISTPs. I view dating with people just like any form of social activities, which undeniably have their own pros and cons.

I'd like to suggest some themes for future videos: we already had one about what makes the 16 personalities angry, now we need one about what makes each one happy and another about what makes each one sad. As well as a funny skit about the 16 personalities as heroes and another as villains (from comics, movies, series, etc.)

My wonderful ISTP mother actually struggles with procrastination. Last summer she was going to "fix that pavilion already" (in this case, secure the tent on her deck to the planks so it wouldn't blow away in the wind), but she hadn't quiiiiite gotten around to it yet one fateful day last spring when the winds came up and suddenly flung her tent on its side against the house!!!! Needless to say, she fixed that pavilion by the end of the evening and nobody could do anything else until it was done because we were all relegated to help. This spring, let's just say she's already got that darn tent fixed to the deck tight, and then some. 😏 To her defense, she had put it off due to being too busy gardening. A fluffy decorative garden?? Nope. This woman grows Useful Produce! And my dad, an ISTJ, plants Interesting Specimens to observe. Neither of them can understand why their ISFP daughter could prioritize creating a shady garden that won't grow a single veggie because it "feels nice and gives calming vibes", nor why I would choose or reject a flowering plant based on whether it "coordinates with my overall theme for my curb-appeal aesthetic".... Oh yes, we have fun promoting our various gardening styles and defending our priorities therein! Lol

@@sydneycarton4106 I've been wondering the same! I'm an ISFP and my mom is an ISTP and we both notice things all the time!! But we notice them in different ways and for different reasons. Nonetheless, we both have Se in second place, making it very high-use and a point of pride for both of us. Maybe ISTPs only notice things when it makes sense to do so? They do love to get straight to the point, but honestly when my mom notices something Se-related, she never hesitates to point it out immediately, such as "That picture is hanging crooked" or "You've got something on your chin". But there's a common theme: it's always things that need fixing. Problems that need solving. She's also pretty impatient and doesn't like to "waste time" on anything deemed unnecessary. So maybe the outfits don't need to change because it's not needed and would take too long? Haha! Sure is fun to ponder reasons why.... Just as an interesting side note, my Se gets more often used to point out things that appeal to me, not so much things that need fixing. So she and I have noticed that difference between ourselves. (It's most likely based upon our dominant functions -- my Fi versus her Ti -- influencing the subsequent function's usage.)

@@grazynawolska8160 I won't particularly categorize "beating around the bush" as flowery words without any meaning. In fact our words are always full of meaning and are heavily loaded with subtext which sometimes can be difficult for non dominant Ni types to comprehend. If it's not meaningful, we would rather not speak. It's just that we sometimes choose to speak our thoughts in an indirect way ( beating around the bush as labelled by T types) hoping others will get our point because we have heavy F types in our group as well and we just don't like hurting others' feelings in general. Just because we aren't straight forward like other T types doesn't mean our words are not meaningful. Something T types won't relate to and that's okay as long as they are being respectful. In fact, most of the results are different, the ONLY consistent ones are strong introversion and higher-than-average neuroticism/anxiety!

ISTP still seems pretty anchored. I am an INTP, and I usually feel like I am the alien among humans. ISTPs at least seems like the more understandable types, so I usually regard them as translators between me and other people.

@MichaelGrundler
@MichaelGrundler 2 жыл бұрын
I'll try: It's a meta reference to the UK captions in the other videos which often contain explanations, variations or even complete alternative storylines. In that way they provide subtext for what's happening in the video. But this video is supposed to be from the perspective of an ISTP and it is said that ISTPs lack the ability to read between the lines and recognize the unspoken rules and subtext of social interactions. Ergo no subtext to find here. But by mentioning that there's no subtext in the captions they actually provide subtext. And by me (an ISTP) explaining the (non existent but still present) subtext in the captions I disprove the notion that ISTPs don't recognize subtext and therefore invalidate the caption's proposition. Wow, that got philosophical fast. And I fear I made it worse. 😅 Also there's a possible connection between the words subtext and subtitles which I'm not going to explore here. And I've not even touched on the self referencing and self correcting parts of the captions towards the end of the video.

I think these “through the eyes of…” videos are my favorite. Also, if you made a series on each of the 16 personalities’ favorite Bible passages, that would be awesome as well as very helpful for people in ministry. I’ve only been learning about mbti within the last year and have found it eye opening. The other morning I was reading in 1 Corinthians and as always, was overjoyed at Paul taking them to the woodshed. I found myself wondering how much of that has to do with my being an INTJ. Then I thought about how useful it might be if I could see videos on what parts of the Bible appeal to each personality type.

Oh I'll give you the ISTP one: Those who do the law, not those who hear the law, shall be delivered. Especially nice about is that it allows you to ignore the rest of the book (if you have to ask your heart anyway to figure out whether you're hearing the law or something corrupted, might as well just ask the heart), it allows you to ignore missionaries, and allows you to tie reverends into knots. They generally don't come back. That and the part about not making graven images of god. Like, including, in your mind. Stop trying to tell god how he's supposed to be.

That is a most admirable task. You will be fighting an uphill battle the scale of mountains seeking almost any istp support, interest, or inclination towards ministry. We dont tend to rely on others in the physical world, let alone spiritual, and our own moral code, (which is grey at best usually) causes problems within the rules and expectations of scripture. As an istp however id be most interested in discussing things with a minister as i feel theres much left to teach in the good book that is simply not being taught.

I was with you there, Clayton. I had no idea there was a ring; maybe that's in the Anchorman soundtrack.

As an ISTP, I can confirm this is 100% accurate, about all of you beautiful persons! Well done, Kristin! p.s. I also did NOT notice that the clothes did not change, only the 1 case where it was obviously different and even told in the captions. But had to look it back after reading it in a comment. p.p.s. Also the "subtextless" subtext (captions) and meta-jokes are also very ISTP humour-y, and are a perfect filler for the captions since you obviously cannot fill them with deep philosophical treaties and insights and such. Partly because of the short time they have in the video, and partly because we don't really think that much about personalities either.

INTP here, I also did not notice that the clothes did not change until she pointed it out. I mean when my mom gets a new haircut I often don't notice anything until she asks my opinion about it so I guess it checks out.

Damn ... I just realised... Even though INTJs and ISTPs are very similar on the surface ... The length of their respective videos shows the difference 😏

Nah we're different. ISTP can fix anything on the spot, I can maybe take out dishes from dishwasher lol. Also INTJ talks more and INTJ can see the values held by the group, the ISTP cannot... I used to tell my ISTP friend how the group perceives his actions cause he couldn't tell. In a nutshell everyone loved him but management and since he wished to be valued by management it wasn't going to happen. He therefore left for another job where hopefully his awesome skills are appreciated. -intj

@@grazynawolska8160 I can see peoples' values but I'm unwilling to change anything about myself for others. If they don't like what I do, whatever. Not my problem.
