The 2nd round of the Swiss from camera no. 1.
Match no. 2 of the tournament.
The black army of bald vampires, assassins and outcast knights marches ever on and tonight they encounter a group of burly trolls that are particular fond of explosives. 🔥🔥🔥

Ive played magic at for over a decade at both kitchen table and hi-level competitive play and that game two is one of the best I have seen. Props to him.

The 2nd game shows why Magic is so great. Coming back from 3-18 and a paralyzed Su-Chi and not bolting the Juzam in the end step. The player deserves the victory.

Totally agree HS! He kept a level head throughout and went on the offensive for the only conceivable win condition he had instead of just postponing a loss by bolting the juzam. What an upset! Ouch. ;)

Haha yeah Ouch! Well played by Ebbe with those finishing moves - taking that game literally in the last turn before the monsters could close in 👏

I was hoping to see the Royal Assassin in action (favorite card of all time). So hard to go against power. Good Game!

@@RaVNeFLoK This deck has inspired me to build a mono black deck with 4 Greed, 4 Dark rituals, 4 Ivory towers, and I'm stuck there lol. Not sure what else would work together.... Library of Leng? Uncle Istvan and Bad Moons for the life? I want to avoid having Greed out with no life, worst feeling in the world. I also have the usual suspects, Mox, DT, Mind Twist, Lotus, Chaos Orb, sol ring.

@@Adrian-ng9pb sounds spicy! I’d say Drain life and a few diamond valleys if available. Or Perhaps splash white for land tax, divine offering and spirit link. :)

Valiant effort, Gandalf! But playing mono colored does kind of feel like playing with one hand tied behind your back.

Thank you ripliini! Oh definitely. I don’t think this mono-brew have much of a chance of going into the top-8 in such a big tournament with so much power present. But hopefully they’ll know they have been in a fight once the dust settles ;)

The end of the second game is wrong, at minute 12:15 he uses the "sol ring" and only spends one colorless mana with the "misrah factory", then he launches 2 "lightning bolts" and takes 1 life from the "city", ending the turn without using that mana and it should take a life, so it couldn't use the "city" next turn. This game is poorly refereed at the end.
@RaVNeFLoK
@RaVNeFLoK Жыл бұрын
There is no mana burn in the rules of this form of old school magic - but even if there was the player could just activate his factory twice in a row to avoid the mana burn. A Mishras factory can be activated as many times as you have mana for it. :-)

@@RaVNeFLoK In Spain, we did burn mana in 1994, I don't know if not there, I don't know where the championship is, and I don't know if there were the same rules back then, but come on, mana that isn't used burns you. You are right about the Mishra, that would be the correct option to avoid burning mana. Very interesting movement, very useful, greetings.

@@juliotesar5209 youre very welcome. And yes I played with mana burn as well back in 1994 so I understand the confusion. Sadly the “modern” rules for old school have removed mana burn - at least in Northern Europe. This tournament was held in Denmark. Have a good one! :-)
