Oh, Bowley knows it's theoretically possible to pick. They instead emphasize they're highly resistant to picking, particularly in a real-world setting by criminals, and for that they're substantially correct.

Beautiful lock and key! I went to antique shop the other day. They had a large 5x3 board with a couple hundred old keys on it. Someone’s collection. Was $300 but it had about 200 old various types of keys.

Yes, but too many security flaws by today's standards. Shimmable in 2 ways and a fake pawl slot. Were it a Master, he wouldn't have left a dry spot on it.

@@gregorysmith9114 Our power company used to be all how ya doin' with security, but they've been upgrading everything to EVVA 3KS. That's how you know they are getting serious! It's probably also for legal reasons because I've seen these on sheet metal covers that could probably be pried off with a crowbar in seconds.

He does collect locks, but he likes challenge to grow. These old locks are typically weak, both in construction and picking-wise. The only hope is that the thief won't know how to operate an obscure design.

I love WBs, they may not have security pins but they have great tolerances, ive been picking for 6 months or so, i have 5 or 6 their great beginners locks, most pick cw or ccw

@@zwz.zdenek I guess I take too much for granite. I meant to say the internal/workings. Bill had complained that the mechanism felt sandy/dirty, and I thought that would be a good lead in for (inner) cleaning. I know that the outside is the patina side, but the inside not so much.
