I saw him. Flew right away. 😂 I’ve dealt with them for a couple months but fingers crossed they’re gone! Nice video!

I have had times when my bins were getting overrun by those pesky flying insects. Hopefully I can do away with them soon... keepin' my fingers crossed too 🤞🏻

That is so strange that you have the non avocado favoring type worms😂🤣😂I just checked one of my bins and it was worm ball city in the big avocado I gave them!! Avalanche!!! Love the mid roll time lapses!! That honey comb cardboard looks similar to what my mom gave me a little while back for my bins. Excellent mystery veggie feeding!!🪱🪱🪱

When I saw the honeycomb structure of the cardboard I immediately thought of the cardboard that you mom gave you. I wonder how my worms will take to the stuff - it's fairly tough stuff.... :)

The fine green leaves are fennel

I caught a slight whiff of something familiar when I first removed it from the bag... but later I could not smell anything from it. Since fennel is something I never eat, it is not surprising that I could not recognize it. Haha! :)

@@A-V when it is raw it smells like liquorice,, only the bulb is used in cooking, and when it is baked it does not have the same smell.

Have you tried making a guacamole out of your spoiled avocados with your pureed avocado pits, worm chow, grit, coffee and such then refilling the shells. I've heard a lot of gardeners do that to capture worms from their gardens to start new bins and just to feed some indoor plants.
@dulce0403 Жыл бұрын
You could probably puree some of the other foods and add your crushed leaves or bedding to the guacamole to entice them with as wel

Great ideas... if there is still a bunch of uneaten avocado when we next check on this system then blending it with some leaves might be a way to help with its consumption 👍🏻

fennel tops?

Yup - that's right :)

It's almost surprising that they hadn't gotten into the avocado but there is plenty of other stuff in the bin (food/bedding). My guess is that if this was an advanced bin with mostly just the avocado for food, they would have ravaged it.
@A-V Жыл бұрын
You might be right... it is hard to say. I keep thinking back to a system where I was pocket feeding... switching the feeding area each time from corner to corner... and in there too it seemed like the avocados took forever :)

@@A-VStill though, uneaten avocado in a worm bin = oddity.

It's Eurasian milfoil from the lake... Hey! Don't think I haven't thought about that! My luck, I'd have self breeding mosquitoes in the house.
