Thanks for the videos and the insight. I’m here analyzing what I want to do with my life. I work in IT, I make over six figures a year already, but I’m not super excited with what I do. I’m applying now to college again to get my pre requisites at 29 and see what happens. When I was in college I wanted to be a doctor, but life changed and I went into the military and got a pretty good career that has now helped me a lot economically. But it’s not my passion. I like it, but I don’t love it. I hope I can get into med school and accomplish that dream.

Question: as an IR, how do you respond to an awake patient, that has a tolerance to lidocaine, and it has no effect? The patient is getting a port removed, because of infection and it is severely scarred down. Do you send a nurse to get a different numbing agent or do you have the nurse keep pushing dilauded, even though it isn’t working? Patients vitals are stable, but worsening.

Hey Dr. Cellini, I'm a med student highly interested in IR. But many others have dissuaded against the field due to the job market (i.e. difficulty in creating a 100% IR practice and so having to do DR as well). Though I don't dislike DR, one of the main attraction for IR is the patient contact available in IR, and so ideally I want to be doing more of that as an IR attending. What are your thoughts on this?
@DrCellini3 жыл бұрын

The residents do not. They make less than minimum wage per hour. If this was an amazon warehouse making them work 168 hours , there would be a labor law investigation against the corporation.
