It's great that you are out of hibernation and back on the trails for summer. We've had a hot fine summer here in New Zealand but winter is just around the corner for us. Really enjoy your videos Patrick. Keep them coming....at your pace. Cheers.

Another highly enjoyable video Patrick, thank-you. You mentioned a lot of pubs I'm very familiar with in this film. The Duke of Devonshire in Beeley was the first pub I had a pint of bitter in (illegally), aged 16. There should be a plaque on the wall🙂. The Duke of Wellington was my Dad's local for many years, until the inevitable falling out with the landlord 😉 The Thorntree is where many of my friends still living in Matlock drink these days, a great pub and the best views in the town!

A fab walk and film Patrick. Some fascinating history over on those moors. The background to Hob Hurst house is a really interesting one. Not sure if you walked alongside Gibbet moor on this one but the gruesome story behind those moors certainly make interesting reading. Good to hear you’ve recovered from covid. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I continue to avoid it, but it just seems a matter of time before it catches up with me! Great to see you out making films again 🙂

Thanks Anthony, yeah I think I never rushed to get to Hob Hurst's House before now as I knew there wasn't really that much to see aside from a mound, but it was a great walk to film all the same. I've never walked on Gibbet Moor, but the shot where I pan towards the views of Baslow and Gardom's Edge's would have been across that same moor. Yeah hope you avoid Covid Anthony. I gather it's easing off again now, fingers crossed! 😄👍

New places Patrick - always good to feel refreshed by them. And this somewhat a refreshing walk up onto the moors - interesting to consider the round barrow. He didn't find much in it did he? Lovely dingle later in them woods. It was a really pleasant walk from the start to finish church and all. Well, I've subbed again in my mind. Ha ha! Always a pleasure to kick back to your walks. All the best up there. Mark

Hey Mark, yeah great to still discover new places. Not really much to see in that old barrow, was there, but it was a nice walk up to it all the same. I enjoyed filming this walk too as it's not a route I've previously done, and I always like to dawdle in a church when there's one around. Thanks for subbing again in your mind Mark haha! 😁 I always appreciate you watching anyway and for your comments, support, etc. Take care down there too and all the best 👍

Subscribing to and “liking” your channel is a no-brainer for anyone who enjoys excellent videos about walking in the UK! Today’s walk looked really lovely - nice to get out in the fresh air after Covid - with an interesting collection of stiles and gates and a very inviting-looking pipe organ in the church 😃😉 I wonder if Tolkien’s hobbits and their subterranean abides were inspired by Hob Hurst’s House.

As mentioned in this, I always feel that if people want to "like" and subscribe, that's down to them, they don't need me to say every time to do so. Yeah I really wanted to have a go on that church organ, like several others I've seen on walks, but I thought it best not too in case I alarm the locals! 😄 Thanks for watching as always 👍
