You see the plan was simple, get in and explore one of Tasmania’s most inaccessible rivers. A place where no one has been since the old timers left over 100 years ago..
But as time would tell, its never that easy..
Thanks to my Patreons at / robparsons for all their support keeping this channel alive.

Certainly one we’ll never forget mate, it’s no wonder I’m struggling with my mood this winter after our highs we’ve had. I’m just a junkie for those experiences again once I’ve had a taste 🤪. Just gotta remember to be grateful to have them hey very fortunate to have our health and ability to do this.

I grew up in a small mining town in Northern California. A river called the "Feather River". It's a decent sized river not a creek. The miners when they first arrived where getting 2 ounces per PAN! This account is in numerous mining journals and the history books. Once the shore gravel was down to a few nuggets per pan they went big. They built a water flumes large enough along stretches of the river to divert all the river water into these flumes built of wood. This would let the main river be exposed to mine completely. Then they tear down the flumes move sections and rebuild to do the next stretch of river. They pulled out thousands of ounces in gold. A fella names Granville Swift was the head claim holder and guy running the show. It's said he brought home hundreds of pounds of gold. Which he buried in numerous places and gave large boxes of gold to his sister and her husband. The sister buried 2 chests of gold in a creek near where they lived in the valley. The creek flooded one year and washed those 2 chests away. So it's said 100 plus pounds of nuggets are in that creek from the feather river. Granville hid gold nuggets in the walls and in footings of his house. He had the largest cattle heard in California. A flood happened then a very cold storm right after freezing the valley and all the water. The entire heard died that winter. So Granville loaded his gold and family members and moved to Sonoma California. Where he built a giant mansion. With ranch houses all over the property and a huge ranch house for the sister. That ranch still stands today. 80 pounds of nuggets have been discovered by workers over the years that Granville hid. One bag of gold was in the fireplace rock. They where remodeling the fireplace and out pops the bag of gold about 10 pounds hidden inside the cemented rock fireplace. It's been found in walls and under the foundations. This gold was from an incredible time when an ounce of gold was worth about $10 to $12 an ounce. The first settlers that where getting a few ounces per pan where only getting $2.00 an ounce at the mining camp! That's how abundant the gold was. Now the gold is there but we have to work hard for it. Move big boulders and work deep crevices. And get nowhere near what you fellas are getting . Amazing work. Keep it up. Building your retirement fast!

A lot of channels (pawnbrokers, etc.) make 10x more money from views than they do from their trade. Therefore it's all a charade. The good part about you is that the subject of the channel is the manner in which you make the money, and the returns from views are just a cherry on top. That is why your content has that personable, legitimate feel. What a life it must be to pull gold from under the water -- thank you for all the great videos man.

You two should build a micro dredge out of 4-6" PVC pipe or kayak stabilizers with a micro high banker mounted on top. Rig up a pump and suction device. You could use 12v power and a solar geni for recharge. You could easily pack that in with your camping gear. It would be easy to move around the creek. You could process so much more material, and you would recover more gold that you miss by eye sight. I would reckon you would probably have increased your gold recovery from that weekend by 30-50%. 😮😮😮 Cheers boys, love the vid!❤
