In this video I explore a very remote region of Western Tasmania that I have been wanting to investigate for a long time now. The area was the scene of the Hydraulic gold mining craze which boomed in the Corinna area some 130 years ago. 10’s of kilometres of water race were cut into the hillside to accomodate the water pressure needed to blast the gold rich gravels up in the hills. Join me for this epic adventure as we take a long hard walk into Tasmania's wild-west past.

Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. Your ability to navigate the bush whilst filming and the camera setups amazes us. As very senior citizens we enjoy watching what we can no longer achieve ourselves and we see parts of of our state we weren’t game to tackle in our younger days. Keep up the great work and please take care. Best regards.

Always enjoy being taken along with you with your videos. They all have a perfect balance of being adventurous, peaceful and educational. The excitement of gold prospecting, the peace of the environment and camping, plus the history of Tas and the incredibly humble personally you have make each and everyone of your videos so enjoyable to watch.

Thanks Pete, it’s great to hear feedback like that. It means a lot to me to know that some people do enjoy the way I put together and present my ideas. The concepts are always more than just a night out hiking, or just gold, or just anything. So I’m glad you can recognise what I’m trying to achieve. Thank you

Just spent Christmas 5 days in Corrina , our mission was to explore on stand up paddles . Went as far as log jams and such would allow up savage and Whyte , took pieman down to lovers Falls. Had the idea of implementing bunnings umbrella s as sails to get back with the wind . Pretty sure the few locals thought we were on the tree bark . Me and the misso love your adventures mate . Keep going legend.

Must of been hell on earth getting all that heavy machinery into position, and the heart break of little or no result. Respect for those intrepid and brave old timers. The reclaiming of the history is fascinating Rob and all respect to you. A job well done.

I really wonder the same thing, wonder it every mine if ever been. I know alot changes over 100 years but generally tracks that have been bulldozed in will always remain somewhat visible. Perhaps it was more so horse and cart and all machinery was dismantled for transport?

Loved your latest presentation Rob which reminded me so much of my 13 years when I lived at Pyengana in the 1990s. The Blue Tier area with its old mining relics from tin mining and scrub scenery are so similar to the West Coast. You are a lucky fellow to get frequent leave of absence to do what you love, especially as a young married man. Make the most of your time in the bush before Family commitments throw a spanner in the works. 😁

The sulfides coloring that rusty water to so awesome!!! That's why it's so green there is because of the quartz crystal and the gold and sulfides coming out of the quartz. Quartz has amazing metaphysical properties as well as gold. Gold, in its atomic form has wondrous capabilities. It has the power to prolong life in anything that ingests it. Gold is a "forever" that prolongs life, unlike other metals. Silver is great as in coloidial silver, keeps bacteria away.
