I started working out (in a basement) about 12 years ago, lost 85lbs total, after I quit drinking. I acquired and bought the cheapest most dangerous benches & weights you’ve ever seen 😂. I screwed a 2x4 in between a makeshift doorway, for pull-ups, in the basement of my family’s restaurant. I used to absolutely love days when it would be dumping snow I’d walk to the restaurant, listening to avenged sevenfold 😂, and workout in the basement for 2hrs at a time until I started getting in a routine and built some strength. Over the course of 2 months I went from barely hanging off the 2x4 to doing 4 solid pull-ups. Good times!

I've found the exact opposite on lengthened rear delt movements. Biasing a cable reverse fly by turning away from the cable and focusing on sweeping the arm out is the only way to feel the rear delt pull without any traps, compared to any reverse pec deck or shortened movement where all I feel is traps

Yo BB, in the comments section of your last video you mentioned preacher hammer curls as an S-tier forearm exercise. What do you say about preacher reverse curls (with straps to avoid grip failure)?
@David1807m
@David1807m 4 ай бұрын
Don't use straps, specially in a exercise like that, you're gonna have small forearms if you keep using straps, just do your exercises without them and see them grow and also your grip strenght
@BasementBodybuilding
@BasementBodybuilding 4 ай бұрын
I’d say they’re S tier for a lengthened biased lift which that question was if I remember correctly, but I personally prefer mid/short stuff for brachialis, so I’d recommend regular standing for now but preacher reverse curls would be excellent to make them lengthened biased. Admittedly, I’d have to experiment with them for extended periods of time to give my best answer

With your minimum volume training philosophy, what do you say about fully replacing cable curls with a hammer curl variation since bicep training volume is so scarce (which i do not think is a bad thing btw)? If you count hammer curls as only forearm volume then I guess it's a non-issue.

I've been training for just over a year and started overweight at 14, I ate healthily but barely lost weight for around 8 months but allowed me to get quite big, and I've been trying to cut since October last year, and I kept stopping, being told by bigger guys to bulk or stop cutting because I wasn't overweight anymore at around January. But when I did stop cutting I felt I gained fat too fast so now I'm cutting again and want to be a low bodyfat before I start to gain muscle again but I haven't gotten stronger since January because of this. Should I just finish cutting?
