In this episode, I finally get "Two Dogs Down." If you have followed my channel, you will remember one of my videos that I published more than 6 years ago. It is entitled, "Hercules .357 Misses Chupacabra". I've held on to that miss for many years. It feels good to finally to get two dogs down. This is helpful because nightly, these coyotes are ravaging the cattle, sometime taking out 5+ per night. Land owners have recuperate this loss some place so guess where you may see it, in the grocery store. I and my friends are doing our part to prevent this from growing out of control.
As promised, I am placing the link to the items that I used in this episode in the links below

Hell yeah, dude. I've got a DS35 on my CZ 457 in .17 HMR. Been tearing foxes up. Awesome combo. FYI... I run my DS35 with a predator tactics Coyote Reaper XXL. Looks a bit silly due to the size, but you'll see you can get an image at over 300 yards that the DS can produce on it's own at 100

I see in the comments that you have been getting some grief for using the 17 HMR on coyotes. Is it the best calibre for them? No. Does it kill them effectively? Clearly yes, with the right shot placement. IMO it is up to the individual hunter to define what is acceptable from an ethical standpoint considering their abilities, including choice of equipment. Hunt for long enough, no matter what the calibre, a hunter will have a 'bad go' resulting in an unfortunate outcome …any hunter that says otherwise is not being truthful. Anyway, I have just taken delivery of my Pard DS35 70 LRF Gen 2, the main difference from the Gen 1 I belief is that the IR is LED. It was also marketed here in the UK as having an incremental zoom, but my unit doesn't...I understand this might be part of a firmware upgrade in the future. I have put good quick detach mounts on it and have so far had it on my Sako Quad with the 22LR barrel - have the 17HMR and 22WMR barrels for the Sako as well, so am hoping to take advantage of the different profiles for each calibre. Little disappointed in the elevation adjustment range and had to use an adjustable rail mount to claw back some elevation. Could be due to the picatinny / dovetail adapter used. The return to zero was spot on after taking the scope off and putting back on several times. The limited testing I have done with 22LR (CCI Subs HP) using the ballistic calculator is that it is pretty good but you need consistent ammo. The variation in the CCI was crap...the circa 1 inch group zeroed at 50 yds turned into a 3 to 4 inch group at 100 yds with the ballistic calculator. The chronograph was showing really erratic shot to shot muzzle velocities in the 70-100 fps region on a supposed 1050 fps baseline. I am also planning to put in on my 300 blackout so that I can profile the subsonic / supersonic loads and hopefully have much more control over the ammo consistency through reloading. Anyway...enjoyed the video. Keep the content coming.

Not the best shot placement at all should go for head shots only with HMR specially using 15.5 ammo

Thanks for the info. They both went down without requiring to be tracked. I performed lots of research and testing prior to the hunt. Thank you for watching.

@@nigelbase1196 Have you ever even hunted? A lot of times, I see comments from hunting “experts” that’s never hunted. I ask because you immediately suggested using a larger caliber without knowing my hunting situation. I have many firearms in many different calibers, many. For this situation, the .17 HMR was the best tool for the job. The two coyotes were hit with 135 ft/lbs of energy at 129 yards. Research indicates that it takes 30-35 ft/lbs of energy to dispatch a coyote. Do the math. I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching.

@@HunterOne_Productions I've been hunting for years over here in the UK and in Africa..still am. I've owned more rifles than I care to remember and have shot well over a 1000 foxes..countless vermin at long range and use a high power AGT Vulcan 2 air rifle. As far as "research" goes it means diddly squat!!."research shows" that a sub 12ft/lb air rifle can kill a human if shot in the head....so do soldiers use air rifles to kill each other🤔....I've owned an hmr and shot a few foxes with it but found it only marginal..head shots were a must...body shots were poor...so bad in fact because of the few runners I had and foxes badly wounded and not dying quickly.(.as in your video)....I sold it. As far as my comment on "using a suitable calibre"...I still stand by it....a .22 magnum hits much harder than an hmr , even better is a .22 hornet/ 17 hornet/.17 fireball or even the .17 Remington plus all the usual .22 centre fire calibres....so please don't try to use "research "to justify your less than satisfactory kills on two coyotes!....hope you have better success in the future using the proper tools for the job😉
