@PsychoNerd92 well that puts things into perspective. There was definitely an adventurous and more down to earth perspective in the 80s and part of the 90s... There was a 60s revolutionary spirit and ethos... But I feel that those in charge of the propaganda and mainstream media saw this and they started up certain types of music genre popularity. And I bet the music being free and easily acceptable online is a psyops to get their opinion out faster and easier to combat the revolutionary music... Those who decide the accepted social norms decide the opinions and beliefs of the masses.

Honestly I remember going to a McDonald's birthday party one time and one time ever as a kid and it was so fucking good I think it is the only birthday party I remember at all from my childhood. The fact that we were taken to some secret room (aka just the meeting room in a McDonald's) and given so much McDonald's themed ice cream and cake. As a dumb kid that shit blew my mind. I felt like we were being let into a secret world and being given anything we could dream of, when in reality it was just an office room we don't usually see and "anything we could dream of" was TWO cheeseburgers instead of one.

Games like: - Undernauts labyrinth of yomi - Stranger in sword city - Touhou artificial dream in arcadia - Demon lord reincarnation - Labyrinth of zangetsu - Kowloon high school chronicle - Vaporum - Wizardy remake - Etrian odyssey - Legend of grimrock 1&2 - Labyrinth of refrain coven of dusk - Labyrinth of galleria the moon society - Mon-yu defeat monsters... (title is WAY too long, just search that) - Core crossing - Path of the abyss - Islands of the caliph - Legends of Aberland I & II - Moonring - Quester - Dungeon master nexus (saturn) - Zanki Zero: Last Beginning - Eye of the beholder 1&2 - Ruzar: the life stone - Star crawlers - The quest - Skullstone - Hibernaculum - DeathKeep - Lands of Lore - Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession - Ravenloft: Stone Prophet - Menzoberranzan - Ultima underworld unity - FlyKnight - Monomyth - Caves of Qud - Cogmind - Dark days ahead - Disillusion ST - King's Field: Return to Melanat (remake of KF 1) - They speak from the abyss - Labyrinth of the demon king - Lunacid - Dread delusion - Etrian odyssey (You can get an HD collection of the 3 DS games on Steam.) - Class of heroes 1 & 2 (for the PSP but soon will be available on steam, or at least the first one.) - Elminage original (for PSP but also on steam) - Elminage gothic (same as above) - RASKOPNIK: the trench warrior - Lunatic Dawn: Zento e no Michishirube And Lunatic Dawn - Book of Futures (I don't know if these two count as dungeon crawlers, but they are two pretty interesting games, they are non-linear RPGs with randomized worlds and they are amazing for the freedom the game gives you, you can be a hero or a villain, Lunatic Dawn is an interesting game series and not many people know about it.) And the devs ended up adding that saying to the game multiple times, which will never stop being one of my favourite things and make me smile whenever I read it haha. The game itself's a damn fun lil romp too, pumped for the wider-screen Switch port. Among a lot of other rad games in this here vid I love seein' Mayor of Sanctuary mentioned, NaraMakesGames is super talented and a champ. Y'know if you managed to do this a few days later, you could mention that the finished-but-unreleased Kien for GBA is geting released later this year. I saw the trailer on RPGamer - kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipqUhp9mrpuNmbM&pp=ygUVS2llbiBHYW1lIEJveSBBZHZhbmNl I find Nintendo homebrew to be a boring little microcosm of the lamer aspects haunting the modern indie scene in general; hyper focused on Metroidvanias and Zelda clones. So I'm not particularly thrilled with modern GB and GBA games thanks to that lack of variety, but I appreciate you plumbing the depths to highlight stuff regardless. Little fun fact, but the characters that you play in Adventures in Carnal Hell, Hunter in the Lost Forest, and Mage and the Grimoire of BEAST are all men. Also, interesting decision to use a character portrait from Choose Wisely in the thumbnail

Oh I knew that about Carnal Hell and Lost Forest. But yeah, the mage one I only figured that out once the video was ready haha

This video and concept are nice! But, please, take it as a constructive criticism... your reading/vocal style is unnerving 😅 You don't have to stress EVERY last/second to last word in a sentence, or end every phrase with an exclamation mark, it's quite grating tbh

I bet you got stuck running around in a circle in Treton. NOOB!!!!!!1 jk, but a lot of people get lost there. The game is fairly open for a metroidvania, and theres not a lot of hand holding. Repugnant Bounty for sure isn't for beginner metroidvania players lol. I hope you'll play through the rest of the game though, a number of your gripes are addressed later in the game with various upgrades, and the world can be tackled in many different ways once you know what you're doing. Have fun on the final boss though :). I will take your criticisms and run with them for my next game :)

I didn't know that they're still making games on the handheld, and I gotta say that its incredible. All of these games are so amazing, and it makes me want to have a GB. Is there any other way to play these modern GB games.

The Game Boy aesthetic has always been one of my favorites. It's why games like Mario Land 2, Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite, and Pokemon Crystal are some of my favorites. I'm not sure if this game ever actually got a proper "Game Boy" release, but I recommend checking out Squidlit (and the sequel) I met the devs at a con and they were super nice. It's a charming little platformer that put in a lot of effort to remain faithful to the Game Boy style! Great video, my friend!

goodboy galaxy is amazing. The puzzley aspect is a bit irritating for moments, since you can easily get lost and not find whatever item or spot you needed to progress.. i wish they gave a little bit more emphasis to shooting things. But overall it's wonderful and i like it much better than many games from back in the day
