I clearly remember the day I first played Aliens; it was for my birthday in 1991 and I was blown away by it... I couldn't stop thinking about the game and feeling frustrated because the arcade where I found the cabinet was located in a "special" place I could go rarely (you know, you only have a birthday per year).

The only super nintendo game I've played that actually scared me was super metroid when I was a kid. Me and my cousin played through it together. We were genuinely freaked out playing through the game being lost never knowing when the next save room would come or what was going to be around the next corner or through the next door. The first time we encountered the fake metroids in maridia or going through the wrecked ship were terrifying as kids.

To me Splaterhouse is my all time favorite horror games ever. Who doesn't want a Jason Vorhees lookalike to go around beating up monsters, and splatter their brains out with his fist. I mean this is the guy who have the guts to punch a knife and other pieces of furniture. All three of those games are my favorite, but if I have to pick one of them. I pick the third one cause of it's amazing FMV cutscenes, and that was a 16-bit Sega console. It's pretty amazing that how back in the 90s never hold back with horror games like this. I mean wow Elvira and Wax Work are those games with amazing body horror imagery. These are some of the amazing list of horror games I've ever seen. Have a spooktacular Halloween St1ka.

Superb video! I especially like the time taken to go through each splatterhouse game! I didn't realise there was a 3rd game and I found out about it only a year ago. This definitely should have got a uk release. I would love to see them release them all in a hd collection or something with other options and revisions to them. Imagine a limited run release with a statue of jason haha. There are two games I would have liked to have added to this and the first would be Decap Attack, just for the fact that it was changed from a really colourful happy platformer to have this undead/horror theme for the west, and one I would personally add would be snatcher - not a horror themed game but it has that same edge as horror point and click adventures as it is a text adventure which is basically a rip off of blade runner, but it has that violent pixel art similar to the elvira games where you see a dead body or the "snatchers" reveal themselves, it is very tense stuff when you get into it! Anyways loved this video I hope you make more!

After years of highly-scientific research, I can say with 85% certainty that Jennifer in the original Splatterhouse - played by a Japanese woman speaking English - says "Oh, my darurin" (oh, my darling) at the start of the boss fight, "Help, help, meeee" in the middle, and "Thank you. Goodbye~" at the end. You can all rest easy now.

Ehh, I tried La Place No Ma when I was on my kick to play every translated RPG I missed out on. It didn't last long. Pretty solid list including one or two I haven't played. It's cool to see these throwbacks because 16 bit games still have beauty and fun even this late in the world. Plus...lol. the music!
