It’s crazy that the day he proposed, they had known each other for 2 years, had courted for 6 months, and had probably seen each other 5 or 6 times and when her parents got up from the table so he could propose to her, it was the first time they had EVER been left alone together. @Monica Fajardo Aye, that makes it more sad - she actually married the chump, knowing he was a theoretical risk to their future children. Most sane women would NOT take that chance. But she had been raised in an environment with severely restricted education and information. It perhaps left her unequipped, to judge just how severe Josh's behaviour towards his sisters was. Some in his community seem to think he was just a 'young boy in puberty', who was 'a little too curious about girls' - and made a 'mistake'. No. I'm actually a forensic psychologist in my day job. It is NOT the norm, for a boy that age to be attracted to his own sisters (as young as 5); then continue molesting them over a long period, knowing they were not consenting/distressed, etc. That was the calling card of an emerging sex offender. It shows something was very tripped in his brain (in too many ways to list here), which is not easily fixed...(continued)...

I sincerely hope he HAS moderated that side of his behaviour. However, it will always be at risk of emerging again. We can deduce that from the psychological traits, that he seemed to subconsciously demonstrate even recently (in what was supposed to be a public apology, re the abuse of his sisters). I wouldn't be comfortable on the facts publicly available, allowing him unsupervised contact with children. I would expect social services to monitor the situation as a minimum - although unacceptably, there seems to be something about the money and fame of the subject, that deters social services from responding appropriately. Meanwhile, we DO know his general lack of empathy in relationships - and inappropriate sexual conduct - continued in many ways. Anna certainly didn't know he'd end up a cheater, when she married him. The sad thing is, she doesn't realise just how lightly she has got off, if that is all this man (with his psychology) has done during the marriage.

Knowing everything we do now, I think with Josh’s history(when the Holt’s put a stop to their daughter’s courtship with Josh after being told what he did to his sisters .) So I’m thinking after that the Duggar’s knew they had to find a girl who’s parents wouldn’t say no. a girl whose family poor were probably star struck thinking it would be great for their daughters future and for them being associated with fundie royalty. Wonder how many girls in their circle was jealous of Anna getting engaged to the most eligible prince of the fundie world(gag!!!) I have been noticing Anna’s general posture before marriage vs after marriage. Before marriage, shoulders are always raised like she’s trying to prevent people getting in too close or just trying to hide. Whenever they hold hands she always raises her arms so high-like seemingly also trying to hide. I just get the feeling that she just didn’t know how to “feel” about the whole thing and that it was way too soon for her. She never really got the chance to think about what she actually wanted and that she was just doing her duty. After marriage her posture changed as one would when you are physically involved with someone, but I just sense that she was rushed and now her situation became very unfortunate. My heart really goes out to her. Her posture just shows she never had a chance to think or feel for herself.
