Gil and Kelly both went to college, love their kids (they can say at least more than two adjectives to describe them), and they are actually grateful for all the housework the older girls do around the house. While I may not agree with their beliefs, I sure as hell respect them 10 times more than the Duggars.

Just so you all know(think you learned by now) the Duggars and the Bates aren't as similar as we thought. Whenever the Bates guest star on 19 Kids and Counting we often hear Michelle say that the Bates have the same goals in life, and that is true, but they do it in different ways. I have to admit that Michelle and Jim Bob are more strict about how their children act. Gil and Kelly Jo are a little more laid back about some stuff. I am well aware of this so I guess I was a little shocked about how people reacted to the Bates dancing. Everyone was like WHAT? Because of people like Kathy Kitchin. Everyone thinks that they are exactly the same! They are not! They just have the same goals in life! Just wanted to make that clear! p.s. I didn't mean this in a mean way!

I had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago, the pain before I got it out was so excruciating I was in tears. My heart really went out to Mrs. Bates seeing her in that much pain. Then after surgery, pain is gone, is amazing how fast. And you're so thankful and grateful.

I had mine out two years ago.. I woke up one morning and was in the worst pain of my life. I had to go to work at the hospital. I had to drive myself to work, once I got there, they sent me to the ER. I have never been in so much pain before. I was crying. They did an ultrasound and my gallbladder was inflamed and I had a few stones, but there was a huge polyp and they thought it could be cancerous so I had to get it taken out. The morning of surgery I was so so so excited. I was so ready to not be in pain or feel sick to my stomach. After the surgery, the relief I felt.. it was amazing. I feel for anyone who is having gallbladder problems. It’s an awful feeling. Now my sister, is about to have hers out after just having her second baby.

The duggars do love each other each family shows this differently as with my family and others I know. Gil and Kelly seem to be such good parents and really want to be close with as love each of their children, I think Jim Bob and Michelle are awkward with their kids and seem to hand them off mostly to Jana. With the Bates the older ones help but Gil and Kelly Jo really do take care of them as parents should. Also the Bates kids have their own personalities, while the duggar kids all seem to act the same, talk the same and do the same. Just my perspective

Listen. All families come together but this scene. 11:16 made me tear up. I felt their IMMEDIATE FEARS!! The fear for mom’s surgery. The fear the daughter felt being left with the baby for the first time and fearing her moms surgery. The little wave with the baby in her arms 👋 . The dad fearing EVERYONE in that room hahah. I really love Bringing Up Bates. I love the way Gil and Kelly Jo raise their children... believing and serving the Lord. I literally can't wait until Thursday night so I can watch this show. I'm praying for Michael and Brandon to soon have an announcement of their own. I loved the show that featured their engagement, the wedding and just everything about this couple as I do with all of the courtship and engagement events for all. In one episode on of the girls was talking about cooking and said if you don't like it than you can keep quiet or something to that effect. This family is real! My husband did the same thing as gill stayed with the nurses and with me all through my recovery, admission, and before surgery. He was and is my prayer partner for life. We are now expecting our 1st rainbow baby possibly 2 rainbow babies. :) God is so merciful and loving.

I think how I describe the Bates verses the Duggar’s (I enjoy watching them both) for me is that I’d love to be in the Bates family whereas I’d never want to be a Duggar. They’re both different in family dynamics but this family just seem more educated, together, and loving. Idk why I feel that way but I think it mostly comes down to how the parents interact with the kids. The Bates parents seem so much more involved with their kids whereas with the Duggar parents, it felt like the older kids raised the younger kids. And I love how much the Bates have this close knit bond. (Edited to fix grammar issues).

I am totally at the opposite end of the political and religious spectrum as these folks (mainly because I used to be one arrow to keep the quiver full) but I do think the bates are a sweeter and closer family than the duggars. It's like I can see Gil Bates actually loving his family while Jim Bob duggar is very awkward around his kids and tends to put michelle in charge of them (not anything else of course). But when he was describing the procedure to the little ones Gil genuinely had a twinkle in his eye.

The Bates are more down to earth.. The Duggers seem to picture perfect I mean never any tension between those many people under 1 roof? But did anybody notice the tension like idk it was more acting involved? Like when the grandfather was nudging the wife and how they went on about it taking 1 1/2 days to clean after they left from visiting or the fridge being opened so much a day cause they all eat at different times yet the Bates claim to be a tight knit family yet the grandparents describe them as more of a busy modern age family. (kinda like mine lol Im a mom of 8 so idk this bar the duggers set to me is unrealistic almost cult like.. and Ive been called a helicopter mom! The duggers and Bates are nice to watch just seems like fiction vs reality tv)

It's a small incision,..but it's being careful of not lifting after surgery dat u gotta worry about,... With all those kids, all will be fine, they help each other..a loving/ carring/ unite/ bless family... 🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷👶

What I always found ironic was the Dugger's insistence on side hugs... Which didn't seem to make much of a difference with their eldest son, Josh. The Bates seem to be a more down to earth family without such strict gender roles. If something needs to be done then the next available person does the work... That's more realistic and sensible when doing dinner, laundry, etc.
