Love stacking 1/10 gold. They’re always going to have fantastic liquidity, too. Might come a time where you don’t need to sell a full ounce, so that’s where these really come in handy. Great vid, bud!

Thanks! I was surprised to recently come across a shop that was paying less for 1/10 than 1 oz because they just didn't have buyers for the fractional.. always important to shop around when you buy AND when you sell

Living here in the U.S, stick to Eagles, Eagles, Eagles 🦅. The key is not to save a few dollars on each coin, unless you’re a flipper. The most important thing to keep in mind is the ability to store your wealth for the long term, with the ability to have the coins that allow you complete liquidity when the time of sale may arrive. Don’t walk in to your LCS with a handful of different sovereign, and generic Gold coins, because you may find out that they may just pick a couple, or so of the ones they believe they can sell the easiest. Walk in with a wad of American Gold Eagles 🦅, and they’ll pounce on them, and if not all, then whatever patrons are in the store will probably follow you out to scoop up the rest.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, I absolutely agree with you. The 2022 AGE I showed here was actually only a few more bucks than some of these other 'fancier' coins, and no doubt it would be much more easily liquidated. I always try to stress that this is my 1/10 gold coin 'collection' as opposed to my gold 'stack' which consists of 1 oz coins. I recognize many of these 1/10 pieces might be hard to offload, especially in a cold market, so I appreciate this advice.

Why eagles over maples?.910 versus 999 ? Just wondering
@victorfrankenstein502022 жыл бұрын
@@dabo69691954 maples are beautiful Gold coins also, and most LCS’s would probably purchase them as well. They do tend to be a little bit cheaper than the Eagles 🦅, but as far as complete liquidity, the Eagle soars. If your stack were of just Maples, there is a limit (I believe it i 25) that you can sell, before you have to pay taxes on them.

The premiums are too high. Perth mint, krugerands, britannia, even maples are much cheaper. Most gold shops dont really care and will just tell you straight percentage over spot thry pay period and dont care what brand your gold is.

When I finish my full tube of 1/4 oz gold I'm giving serious thought to starting a tube of 1/10, if I can find deals. Like everyone I hate the premiums as you go smaller. Wife wants me to only purchase full oz coins, but there's something about a full tube of fractional vs one single full oz.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
I've been pretty selective about only buying the deals for my 1/10 ozt, but there's no doubt I could have stacked more weight if I exclusively bought 1 oz coins. That's why I just consider the 1/10ths a collection.. I still haven't delved much into 1/4 or 1/2, but I'd be a buyer if the price was right!

Silver Forever with the 1/10 proof gold libertad it says 1,000 minted and the other gold proof coins on Ebay says it doesn't mention how much are minted I don't understand that.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
The best resource I have found for mintage info is actually Wikipedia believe it or not. If you scroll down enough, you can find the info for gold proof mintages which differs by year: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertad_(coin)
@jrtjonathanwinchell39552 жыл бұрын
@@SilverForeverX that's confusing in my opinion where each year is different regarding the low mintage because it's the same thing with American 1/10 gold and more often than not they don't mention it on eBay till a seller sells his coin to make money in addition with the premium.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
I think most sellers only mention mintage information when it is used to justify a higher price. Gotta check those numbers for yourself, and even then-- with some of the older numismatic coins, low mintage doesn't always equal the highest price!
@jrtjonathanwinchell39552 жыл бұрын
@@SilverForeverX you made an interesting comment about how each year differs by year regarding mintage and cross reference it with Wikipedia and I appreciate that. I gave it a shot, but I couldn't find the answer either. I think I found the same websites that you did. It's usually easier to find mintage information from a government coin that a private company's round. I'll keep an eye out, but it might be hard to find! Good Luck Jonathan!

I buy the 1/10 AGE when on sale. However I have seen maples a bit lower and even the AUS ‘War in the Pacific’ 1/10 gold coins for $20 less. It’s hard not to buy the cheaper coin.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
I feel the exact same way.. the main problem is on the sell side... If you are OK with selling the War in the Pacific coin for $20 less than an AGE, then of course buy that! But I have encountered some LCS that have little interest in fractional unless they're eagles.. so there's also the issue of available customer base / sales opportunities. In my opinion, that's the best argument for stacking AGEs (or Buffalos) exclusively like 2is1 does

what do you think about buying gold gram bars rather than 1/10 oz? or even Gram bars over oz bars for silver?
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I don't think there's much good reason to go lower than 1/10 oz for gold or 1 oz for silver (unless you're talking 90% constitutional/junk silver). Fractional silver premiums are just too high to justify in my opinion. If you're just wondering about whether to buy bars in increments of grams vs troy ounces, I think it depends on your country. In general, I prefer gold coins over bars (although I do love my 5g Britannia bar) but I think silver bars are a great option. 10 oz bars are typically your "best bet" just because it's a very common size and you can often get good deals in terms of premium. However, right now you can get new kilo bars for less than $3 premium, so I've started stacking some kilo bars from the Germania Mint and even added a 500g version to the stack as well. They offer 100g, 250g, 500g, 1000g cast bars. I address some of those questions in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3q4qn9nrLeKotU

Where are you guys finding 15% premiums? I am still a little new to this. I am looking at Provident right now. 1/10 Maple Leaf is $277.99. Spot is $1940.99. That is a 43.2% premium. I am very curious to know where to find premiums that low.
@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
A lot of folks use "findbullionprices" which aggregates prices from the different dealers. Go check out that website and thank me later! There are also even better deals to be had if you are comfortable buying from private sellers, but I wouldn't advise that yet if you are new to this. Personally, I would NOT pay anything close to that. Also check your Local Coin Shop (LCS) to see what their pricing is like! Best of luck!

@SilverForeverX2 жыл бұрын
I don't mess around with fractional silver bars, but I'm more open to smaller gold bars. Gold bars can be lower premium than coins, but you do lose some of that benefit as you get smaller. Technically, a 1/10 oz coin is 3.11g so I don't think that's too small per se. My bigger issue with gold bars is that I worry about them being easier to counterfeit than coins. However, I have a 5g gold Britannia bar that I love; it's in the assay, so that helps to build confidence that it's a legitimate product, especially coming from The Royal Mint. That being said, even if you have a loose gold bar from a private mint, most LCS can simply test it and will buy it no problem, but it gets a little more complicated with private sales. At the end of the day, it's your decision and no one else can tell you how to stack! Best of luck, Brandon

Hi! I'm from Philippines and I just started stacking gold in 1/10 oz types. I just purchased a 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf and it comes with a coin capsule. However, the coin rattles a little bit inside the capsule and I am concerned that the coin might get dented because of the rattle and given that it is 9999 gold and it's very soft.
