I like these idioms. Here’s a few more I’m aware of: Echarle leña al fuego - to add fuel to the fire/to make matters worse Salirse con la suya - to get your away Estar entre la espada y la pared - to be between a rock and a hard place (having to choose between two bad options) No tener ni pies ni cabeza - to make no sense Camarón que se duerme, se lo lleva la corriente - don’t let opportunities pass you by/if you wait to long, the opportunities will pass you by Buscar tu príncipe azul - to look for your knight in shining armor Encontrar tu media naranja - to find your better half/soulmate

¿Cómo se dice "Dar la vuelta a la tortilla" en Latinoamérica? Aquí en España es muy común pero supongo que no lo digan en America Latina. El significado es como "To turn the tables" en inglés. Y decimos "throw in the towel" y "curiosity killed the cat" en inglés también! Los dos son poquitos pasados de moda pero a veces la gente los dice.

En Latinoamérica usamos la misma expresión decimos: Le dio vuelta la tortilla o la vida da vueltas.

My biggest question will be what is the equivalent of the word "idiom", but in Spanish? Apart from that, the lesson is super useful. Thanks a lot!

Idiomatic expression/expressión idiomatica

I am so happy you have found it useful 💜 and thank you for bringing this to my attention. The equivalent to "idioms" would be "modismos". However, "expresión idiomática/expresiones idiomáticas", is also correct.

@@LingoMasterySpanish it's helpful to speak slower but then if you can repeat at the regular speed is important to hear what the sentence sounds like in real conversations and how we should be aiming to speak.

A couple of point to correct on the English. When you said “The lights are to bright.” It should be “the lights are too bright,” not “to bright.” Spelling error. The audio sounds the same. Next. “To cheat on” someone implies a romantic relationship, like a marriage or boyfriend/girlfriend thing. But “to cheat someone” suggests more of a financial thing. It could be also fraud but not necessarily.

It's normal to have typos. And I did mean romantically "cheating on". But thanks for the mansplaining.
