@@KushertFor ego, I’d say you can get about 4-7 30 minute 1-2 man properties done with a 4ah. I personally use Greenworks 60v, 48/24v dual volt, Husqvarna 40v, Echo 56v for string trimmers and for the 60v platform on a 5ah using the multi attachment trimmer I’m able to trim 6-8 “maintained” properties on a single charge (30 minute 2 man properties). For Husqvarna I use a 9.4ah and get 8-10 properties of the same type done. For the Echo with a 5ah I get about 7-10 properties done of the same type. And the dual volt Greenworks commercial I get about 4 properties done on the 4ah big battery same type of properties (only reason I get poor runtime is because the trimmer I use (attachment capable) is really hard to feather down other than that it’s light and very powerful. I’d say that if you know how to use a battery trimmer to maximize runtime and follow tips like using twisted line which gets better cutting efficiency and runtime you can get through a full day with 3 batteries on almost any trimmer platform as long as the properties are maintained and as long as you have a trimmer that actually has “gas like power” because if you have a weak trimmer it tends to be less efficient. We even use two backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, and a couple of chainsaws that are battery powered. They can definitely do the job but you just have to do a lot of research before buying. You also don’t “need” commercial branded or professional grade battery equipment to get the job done. I think my personal advice to anyone looking to go battery powered is to settle on a decent platform and get all your batteries on that because we have more than 30+ batteries on 5+ platforms (which all do serve their purpose) but we could really do we just two platforms (one for handheld outdoor tools and one for handheld power fastening, grinding, etc tools)

I have 30 yards that I maintain on my own. I don’t have a LLC or business name. I just go by me. I don’t have insurance. I own 2 trailers but only 1 truck. I own a Wright Stander 36” and Toro Titan 42” I love working alone because there’s no stress. I was fired from my last job for not being a “team player,” which led me to start my own lawncare business. I don’t advertise. All my yards were either given to me or bought off of someone who was exiting the business. If you do a good job you don’t need to advertise. The work comes to you. Some of my clients came to me from word of mouth or approach because of the quality and consistency of my work. I have full quality control since I work alone. I find that my customers like that I work alone and have complained about the change in quality when I tried hiring someone in the past. So I’m resistant to hire anyone even though I realize it limits my potential to expand the business. I want full control and I feel like that’s only possible when I work alone.

Yup, you can get a helper during your busy times. Pay him well in cash. Sort of like an on call basis. That way you are with him but nearly double your production. Just because a big company has 20 trucks, 40 guys and 30 mower units doesn’t mean they are turning profit. Also you are a Sigma Male

I'm in construction and work by myself. Sometimes I get my retired father to help and pay him cash. I make over $30,000 most months. What I do is so specialized that I couldn't just hire anybody. Besides when you have employees you're just running around trying to find work to keep them working so they don't leave. I'm particular about my equipment too and I don't like my stuff broken. I've managed teams when I was an employee and I just don't care for it (Late, no show, whining, no care attitudes, the hand holding, etc). I like working alone and I have no stress or problems. Everybody says running a business is so stressful but I've never felt better in my life. Two things 1. Don't have debt & 2. Don't have employees.

I’ve be en in the remodeling business since 1987, hard to make it with so many others out of work doing it cheap, I know Quality isn’t cheap and cheap isn’t Quality in my line of work. To do it the right way, it’s not cheap and many are shocked at the prices but not as shocked as me when I see how much some others actually charge. At least I sleep well and have a roof over my head. That’s all I have after 30+ years of self employment. Maybe I should have cut lawns, the numbers mentioned in this video were amazing and much more. Than I ever saw in my line.

I hear you. I'm a contractor and I can't believe how cheap the illegals are doing the work where I live. I try to only do commercial work because most them don't have insurance or a license. Residential is a race to the bottom. Most contractors have no business being in business. They quote jobs so low they can't even afford scaffolding. Ruining it from everyone.

This model is really sticky for the subs, It is a easy way to be bleed out. If you sub to this model, Make sure you are getting paid and are keeping up with inflation. Working for free or working and losing money (AKA paying to work) is not fun.
