I am reminded of the proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.” When you’re yoked to someone else, you will at times have to slow down or make some other accommodation for them. Some glorious times you’ll be in lockstep and stride beautifully together, but seeing as marriage is such a long journey, you’ll likely have a lot of the former. It’s rewarding to get to go far with someone, though. Nice episode.

That’s so encouraging that you guys noticed that pattern and then went towards each other instead of moving away, I feel like that’s how a lot of marriages start to slowly grow apart. We have had this happen too! Thanks for being authentic and vulnerable!

"This was so beneficial." Agree. Thanks for sharing! Can so relate to this and learn how to love my spouse when he doesnt feel good. Its crazy how many of your videos relates to situations and problems in my life and really help me to learn and grow but also not to feel so stupid going through all this stuff as if I'm the only one who doesn't get things right all the time. You're a blessing to me. Thank you!

Hey I'm no expert on relationships ive got a lot to learn but isn't it about just loving the person and letting them be them. Not controlling others.

I would love to hear ideas for couples who dont have anyone to babysit for a date night. What can we do to fill each other up?

We don't have the ability/opportunity to go out for dates regularly. It's a couple of times a year really! But we do make it a point to set aside a night a week for us (my husband does shift work so it can't be the same night every week). We get the kids to bed and then it's us time. Phones away etc. Sometimes we get a takeaway in, or a dessert to share, sometimes it's a film on the sofa or a board game. Sometimes we just sit and talk or we just head to bed. 😉 The important thing is making that time and space for connection, I think. And yes going out is nice but we would prefer to make that time for our marriage regardless of the leaving the house option?? I do hope some other people chime in with ideas!

Katie could it be a more of a mindset of needing to be a mom wife so you need to move on?

Hallo! Out of 100 words, 30 are simply:“like“. And you are not the only ones who use this trick…What about the rest of the vocabulary?! I think learning English for our daughter will be very easy. In a few years, everything will be able to be expressed by this magic word: like. Or, maybe just a 👍 Cheers, Gabriel

I always feel like you guys have quite a broad vocabulary. Especially compared to most young Americans. And it definitely beats some modern conversations that consist of the same swear word being used universally as a verb, a noun, and an adjective etc. I think you guys are doing great and its obvious by your vocabulary that you are avid readers. Thank you so much for the content!

To add a little, you guys made this conversation look easy but many marriage mates could not quantify these feelings so well and in such a peaceful way with their mate. So no doubt the "likes" reflect the amount of thought that had to be put into each word so as to be so respectful to each other and that is commendable!

I feel the opposite I think they are both very articulate and take time the choose their words.
