I did the camino norte hasta Gijón (due to time restrictions - will start there again soon) before the pandemic and I just followed the arrows and conchas to Gijón. From what I recall I was on those same roads and paths that you were

There used to be pretty cheap Albergue Juvenil in Gijon few years ago, when I was walking Norte. The only downside was that it was something like 3km off the Camino, somewhere in the middle of the city.

We did the Norte route this past fall (Sept/Oct 2019), and decided to forgo the Primitivo as well. We’ll save it for a later date. We were glad to see that you did the same, as we are so enjoying reliving our journey through your beautiful videos!

A great and professional series, really informative. Glad I watched your primitivo vlog. Had been thinking of turning off the Norte for the primitivo to cut the amount of road walking. But my impression is that it’s still a lot of roads, with the addition of more people, so it seems less spontaneous because it’s essential to prebook way in advance. I will be passing in September/October, so less crowded. But I’m thinking that it may be better to stick to the Norte for the whole way. Good choice?
