Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 26 October 2004 for PlayStation 2, and on 7 June 2005 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox. The game takes place in 1992 within the state of San Andreas, which is based on sections of California and Nevada. It comprises three major fictional cities: Los Santos corresponds to Los Angeles, San Fierro corresponds to San Francisco, and Las Venturas corresponds to Las Vegas. The environments around these cities are also based on settings within the Southwestern region of the United States. Players can drive up the half-mile (800 m) tall Mount Chiliad (based on Mount Diablo), parachute from various peaks and skyscrapers, and visit 12 rural towns and villages located in five counties: Red County, Flint County, Bone County, Tierra Robada, and Whetstone. Other notable destinations include Sherman Dam (based on the Hoover Dam), a large secret military base called Area 69 (based on Area 51), a large satellite dish (based on a dish from the Very Large Array), Vinewood (based on Hollywood) and the Vinewood sign (based on the Hollywood sign) which is located in Mulholland, and many other geographical features. The bridges in San Fierro are based on the Forth road and rail bridges which link Edinburgh, the home of Rockstar North, to Fife although the road bridge is highly similar to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. San Andreas is 13.9 square miles (36 square kilometres), almost four times as large as Vice City and five times as large as the Grand Theft Auto III rendition of Liberty City. The three cities are linked by numerous highways, a train system, and air travel. While its predecessors' areas were limited to urban locations, San Andreas includes not only large cities and suburbs, but also the rural areas between them.

I think you miss some of the most interesting details: -NPCS can approach to a Drug Dealer in order to buy some Drug -If a cop car or/and a police officer is passing nearby while Drug Dealer is selling stuff they will atack both the Dealer and the NPC -When you have 3 or more Police stars they will Chase you with an helicopter, the curious thing is a CNN helicopter will chase you as well, like filming all you do. -Depending on what clothes are you wearing, NPCS will say different comments. -In the hoods you can hear some gun shots in distance, but if you are walking in a "Rich Neighborhood" you won't. -You can see couples all around un San Andreas walking and holding their couple's hand. Funny fact is that in San Fierro (Based in San Francisco) you can see GAY COUPLES. -If you are in a danger hood you can see a car's thief stealing somebody's else car or yours. -If you have involved in a territory war recently and then you listen to "Radio Los Santos Station" you can hear Julio G mentions this violent event and advises you to avoid the area.

Yeah, and for example, some crooks and some hookers will have 2 weapons. A 9mm and a knife. If they run out of 9mm ammo they will use the knife. If you use a vehicle for a long time (talking about cars, trucks and motorcycles) they will get dirty. original game was supposed to have carwash but they didn't appear in official game

I guess a few of them have! The normal NPCs don't look like they do, but the gangsters seem to have. I always thought they all had 'Claude Speed's middle finger', or 'Mario 64's V sign fingers', where they wouldn't actually have any, but when necessary, little block finger would be placed on their hands so it would appear they have.

Uncle 3-B I’m actually from Los Angeles, and the first GSF member threw up a “G” which is in real life thrown up by the Watts Grape Street Crips. The other GSF member threw up a “B” (the okay sign as you put it) which is thrown up by Bloods and Pirus. The Balla threw up a “C” which is thrown up by Crips, and the Vagos member threw up an “F” which in real life is a gang sign thrown up by certain sets of the Sureños such as the Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats or the Primera Flats in East LA as the F stands for “Flats”

I was fighting a balla by the Ganton gym and one of the grove street members ran him over then the medics came and revived him and then he went back to fighting me so I ran on the train tracks and beat him back to death then the medic returned and revived him but it was gonna be both of their last times alive b/c a train spawned and flattened both of them.

This game was way ahead of it's time. I remember always checking the flash website, reading all the previews for it, counting down the days till release. I skipped school the day it came out and played the shit out of it from then on. My mind was blown when I discovered you could recruit gang members and take over territories. Felt like an adventure going from the ghetto doing driveby's to racing through the country, next thing you know you're in the middle of the desert with some hippy dude breaking into a military base.. This game captured my imagination

Yes, I literally played this game from 2005-2011 really much. Mostly the multiplayer (sa-mp and mta) with former clan mates. I am still friends with most of them, but damn. So many memories of that period, it will stay forever with me I believe.

I remember reading the game informer issue dedicated to this game pre-release over and over for hours on end and just being amazed at everything, the countryside in between 3 different cities complete with combines and tractors, you can make him fat if you eat and muscular if you work out, the cops chase other people, the clothes customization, burglaries, swimming (sea life) gambling, flying planes with airports.... I was simply blown away and this was probably the first game I cared about before release and couldn't wait to play, and it held up to even my wildest expectations. It seems like all of these details are something that's expected and normal today and thus not a big deal but that definitely wasnt the case when this came out, I think everybody was blown away by it all upon release... and the fact that it ran on a PS2 is, frankly, a miracle... thank you for making this video, highlights the care that Rockstar North has for this game
