I hate when people describe "plain" or "basic" things as "vanilla" because there is nothing plain about vanilla. It's an unappreciated flavor that is so amazing that it's used to improve everything else, including chocolate... Which unfortunately is the problem... it's over used and underappreciated.

The state of Vermont actually makes more maple syrup than we do lmao And its not cheap here either. A lot of it is exported, used in restaurants, or sold to tourists for lots of money. If you see cheap maple syrup at most stores its probably the knockoff made of mostly corn syrup or other cheap sugar-syrups.

The black chicken is also sold in Vietnam so I've had it a couple of times too. Anyone who travels a bit would have come across most of these, even if they didn't eat it.

I actually live in a place that's called 'l'Érable' 'The Maple' because so many people around here have a maple shack and produce maple. It is highly regulated. We get it at a good price tho, usually 6$ for a can.

Foodie here enjoys food lists.. So far I've had: braised sea cucumbers, saffron in Middle Eastern/Turkish cuisine, bird's nest soup, grilled fugu slices with teriyaki sauce, thinly sliced iberico ham on melon at a food event, small bottle of maple syrup from Canadian cousin, manuka honey from kin travelling overseas, cheese from a freshly cracked wheel of parmigiano in Parma and freshly grated wasabi (only once, years ago ..) Also had black chicken in herbal soup but not sure if the local (Singapore/Malaysia) breed is the same as that in Indonesia, Mongolian fermented camel's milk and camel milk cheese, black truffle (it was a gift, too pricey for my pocket) over homemade pasta, salt in Iceland but not sure if it was Icelandic salt, vanilla pods but not sure where they're from, balsamic vinegar tasting after walking through a balsamic vinegar "inheritance bank" ... 😁 Now I'm getting hungry...

You can just try the chicken eggs. They taste conpletely different from store bought. I have 9 chickens and 2 female ducks and I can tell you they taste and look completely different from a more orange yolk, to a stronger flavor that makes you crave for more with the right seasoning. My favorite seasoning is a pinch of white pepper, a pinch of pink himalayan salt, some shredded onion pieces and Butter as a replacement for oil That is for sunny side up but for scrambled is the same except I add sour cream or something similar and it makes it a puffy scrambled egg that even an egg hater would enjoy.

the 3 food can also be found in some soup they make, they put those in the soups with other ingredients. my family (dad, mum, grandma, grandpa and more people in my family tree) comes to a Chinese restaurant here and there and always order this type of soup

My family used to make maple syrup for fun... it's so worth all the wood you have to chop to boil 44 gallons down.

*not all caviar comes from wild sturgeon. We have white surgeon farmed caviar in Idaho and it's quite lovely, and more affordable.
