I live in Minnesota, USA. Right up near Canada. The way we build floors and ceilings is COMPLETELY different from the way they do it in Tuscany. Actually the way the build houses is completely different. That is why I like watching shows about how they built and renovate homes in different parts of the world.

So no insulation on the roof? On the walls you put insulation inside as I remember. Did you consider putting woodfiber between brick and stone walls?

Roof layers: red bricks which you see on the thumbnail, 12 cm of polystyrene, concrete, roofing felt, roof tiles. As we know we can put nothing between brick and stone walls. Whole building is reinforced against earthquakes and it’s related to it.

@@borgobaroti Ok, I see. So the roof is insulated. But bricks and stones on the walls are directly connected so you had to insulate from the inside. Thanks!

Hello, what are the bricks called that the person is installing starting @8:20? I recently visited Tuscany and these were used almost ubiquitously. I want to replicate this look in a remodel.

@@borgobaroti, thank you for your reply. I understand that this translation means, "old bricks" in English. However, I was looking for what they are called new in Italian. Can you assist with what they are called?

@@skibird7733 unfortunately I don’t know any other name, but when you type Mezzane Vecchie or mezzane toscani there are plenty of Italian websites translated to English so it’s usually translated to Tuscan roof tiles, nothing more ☹️
