Love that color on you😍 I love the thickness of your locs. The trend is micro locs right now and that seems like night mare to maintain lol
@NaturallyMichy4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm sure there's a lot of maintenance required for micro/sister locs, but somehow they're still able to do it. I use to wear mini twists/braids (almost micro) all the time with my loose natural hair and I loved it, but I knew that wasn't for me as in my loc journey. Even earlier today I contemplated combining at least 20 more locs that I may consider doing in the near future because apparently I'm really starting to feel the thicker locs.

I am just loving the addition of the color!! I went through the same thing. In the first six months all the length I had when I began just disappeared. At the one year mark my length was just gone, as it had shrunk up to loc. I didn’t start seeing continual visual growth until my 2 year mark. I’m at 3 years now and it’s starting to shoot. I’ve finally learned not to compare. My hair is pretty much exactly the same length as yours and you’re at half the time as i am. During my first year I was so disappointed in my locs. I’m so happy to be at the point where I love them. My loctician always told me to just trust the process. I got so sick of hearing that lol. But I genuinely just love other people’s locs now. After your last video I ordered that particular rose water and I love it so much better than the other common brand Heritage Store.

Millicent Swift I re-read my reply and had to chuckle. I said I finally learned not to compare and then in the next sentence did the comparison 😂. But my point was that it doesn’t bother me anymore. I appreciate watching the difference in everyone’s journey now.

Hello Michy, Thanks for you story. I recently decided to do locs a few weeks ago and I started with the two strand twist. I decided to look on youtube to see if someone else has done it and I like your journey/videos the best. Your hair visually seems like mine. I've had my twist in for 5 weeks now and I'm going to wash and twist this weekend. I'm a little nervous about it but I feel just like you stated. I've been natural for 10+ years now and I've done everything and I'm tired of doing hair. I work out a lot and I'm postmenopausal, (lol) so I'm done with hair. I don't think I'll look good bald so locs is my best next answer. I think you and your hair are beautiful. Thanks for giving me courage to fully go through it. Wish me luck..

For years I've considered Sisterlocks, but I'm just not ready to make the commitment. I know I'll want to see my hair in a fro and miss the versatility but, at the same time, when I see yours and others it makes me want them. Well, maybe in five years from now. We'll see.

@jenniferclayborne3654 жыл бұрын
No. Sisterlocks are smaller. In general, I've considered them all but like the small size of the Sisterlocks because they remind me of small individuals, which I love. I'm still not ready to male the commitment just yet.

You used the conditioner that came with the color box. Do you think you'll continue using conditioner in your hair? Just curious.
@NaturallyMichy3 жыл бұрын
I think I'll only use conditioner when coloring my hair. The chemicals used in hair dye can sometimes be harsher on the strands, so if a product comes with several tools (conditioner) to help prevent damage, I'm going to use it for that time.

I love your hair im about to start my locks next month question im trying to decide if I should add just alittle hair to my hair to start my loc I don't know what to do i wish I could add pictures to show my natural hair its think and grow fast if I twist it its around 6 7 inch how long would it b if I lock it
@NaturallyMichy4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I would recommend waiting a little bit before adding any additional hair when you first start your locs. Allow your hair to go through the locking process, budding and shrinkage stages first (3- 6 months) and then if you still feel you need additional hair then you can add it.
