All of these cults are horrible, but the children of god cult really gets to me, cause this man convinced parents to let their children be molested and saying it's love. There's another cult that was founded by an Australian lady, and she was very beautiful and charismatic, and that's how she got her followers in. She said she was a clairvoyant and tricked a respected doctor, into thinking she was the real deal, so because of the doctor going to her church a lot of other respected people, like lawyers, doctors, nurses etc. would go to her church. She ended up getting millions off of these people, and would even have them listen to tapes at her church, while she was on vacation to places like Hawaii. But what really made her messed up was her controlling the kids she illegally got, and some from her followers that they let her "take care of". She would give them LSD for days and would tell them she was Jesus, and completely brainwashed these kids. She and two other "aunties" would physically abuse these kids, and a another punishment was no food, one kid said the longest was a week. She was prosecuted for all the vile abuse she did to these children, and was found not guilty in Australia. Only cause there was no physical evidence, even though the children ( adults now of course) told police all that happened. Of course there is so much more to the story, she never was a spiritual person, it was all power and money she craved, probably had psychopathic tendencies. But she's old as hell now and living off of her millions today.

Power is such a slippery concept. Most of these cults are built around lies. I don't think some people "want" to be used or abused. Truth is, a lot of cults are so dangerous because once they become established, people are isolated and few know what's happening. Welcome to the new age matrix.
@WillieManga3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it's even worse when it's tied to religion. Not only do the abusers try to justify the abuse by playing the "I'm being discriminated against" card, but in the process, they make completely innocent people of faith look bad. I choose not to typecast people of faith, but I know some madmen who would and only make things worse.

I have creepy ties to the first cult: When I first moved to New York, I unknowingly worked for a shady media company that was run by them. Mother Jones did a whole expose on it. It still gives me chills.
@labyrinthgirl175 жыл бұрын
The very first thing TCR started talking about, when it came to the first cult on the list, immediately took me back to my high school years. I was home-schooled until my mother's death when I was 16, then I went to two public high schools; one for my Sophomore year (grade 10), my Junior year (grade 11), and the first half of my Senior year (grade 12), and another one to finish out my Senior year and graduate due to an unexpected move during the Christmas break. I had always been taught by my mom that there was nothing wrong with being yourself and that you don't have to conform to be happy, or make friends - wrong, sweet but wrong. Getting into public schools and almost immediately shunned for being 'weird,' 'odd,' and 'different' by other students. It wasn't easy trying to exist in a sea of people who wanted me to change and fit in, whereas I was already fine with who I was and had no desire to change to please people who were little more than strangers. I didn't stop being myself, but I did emotionally and mentally shut down because I couldn't take the bullying. I ended up in a psych ward two weeks before high school graduation for a week, because I was in the mindset that I needed to hurt somebody...I still think about that night and wonder what kind of horrible thing I might've done if I hadn't made the choice to call a help line. Strange how something simple as school can feel like a cult to someone from outside the bubble. I didn't grow up with them, I didn't act like them, and I wasn't welcomed - very much an 'us against them' mentality. Sometimes I even feel like society is just broken up little cults, ready to kill if someone doesn't fit in with their ideals. :/

The Waco incident is actually a very "controversial" subject. There is very great substantial evidence that the ATF and FBI were actually the ones who shot first, filled the house with flammable gas, and had potentially, weapons that could cast sparks and cause fires. While the claims that there was abuse was never proven (apart from the leader "legally" marrying a 14 year old) The leader was apparently writing a manifesto that would last a couple weeks but the FBI gave him a couple days and so they took this as a sign that he would not back down. The ATF also went outside their jurisdiction and tried to base their claims on drug production (their evidence was that they reported a meth lab to the police that was behind their compound) and child abuse (which was again never confirmed and outside of their jurisdiction anyways). While the cult was by no means innocent , the huge mistakes that the government made should not have been done (yes I watched wendigoon video)

She was the youngest of eleven children and worked to provide for her parents because it is believed the children (when old enough) must provide for the parents. She had no social life besides the few early childhood psychology classes she took at our university. She only took these classes to prepare herself for the ideal motherhood. She was reccently matched with a fellow unification man in NYC. She doesn't love him but is trying to get pregnant right away so she can continue her big family. I'm pretty sure there are also cults based on Islam, Judaism, and New Age thinkings as well. And speaking of Islamic cults, does the terrorist group Hamas count as a cult? After all, they were responsible for the infamous Tomorrow's Pioneers, a disgusting "educational" show that teaches little kids how to be terrorists and suicide bombers and featured rip-offs of Mickey Mouse (Farfour) and Bugs Bunny (Assoud).

I live in Corcoran, California. This is where, until his death, Charles Manson served his life sentence in our Prison. A dear friend of mine was a correctional officer that had to be around him and guard him. She told me that even though his mere presence made her skin crawl, she also said that she had never met a more gentlemanly person than him; which creeped her out even more. Though she never spoke a word to him, he would always compliment on how much he admired her, a woman of small stature, for taking on such a dangerous job. She retires soon, and still tell me that never has a prisoner both unnerved and charmed her more than Charles Manson.

Dude, that is so crazy (and great) that the list includes Colonia Dignidad! I grew up in Chile during the 90s and I remember everybody knew about it... And yet nothing was done until many years later. I remember one time our local supermarket was selling fckin BREAD proudly made by those assholes right in the colony! There is one thing wrong about this video. The people who were murdered at Jonestown did know that the drink was poisioned. You can even listen to a recording of a woman saying that dying should be a choice and that the children at least should live. They also had what they called White Nights, rituals where they drank plain Flavor-aid as a test of loyalty in the weeks prior.

The entirety of the Waco operation at the hands of the ATF was a constant fuckup,starting from the decision to arrest Koresh at his compound than during his morning rounds,which is what the sheriff's advised. The raid and the firefight that ensued fall entirely at the hand of the ATF which carried on the operation as PR stunt to avoid budget cuts. Not to mention how the fire was started by the stun grenades used by the government agents,the same kind of grenades used to kill Dorner,highly flammable grenades mind you.

I know it's kinda your thing, but maybe you should steer away from numbered lists a little bit. In a world with a million top 10 lists, numbered lists are a video turn off for me, instantly. Now, since telling you what I don't like and nothing else is useless to you, I'll tell you what I /personally/ would find easier to consume. I would love to see more in-depth, single topic videos on your channel. There are some, but I think seeing them become the main source of content would greatly increase the level of interest in your channel. However, I can understand that perhaps you might not be able to find a huge number of high quality stories to talk about for a long video - so it's your judgement that matters most.

I don't have a problem with lists, and I don't mind numbers on a ranked list, but numbers on a list of things that aren't in any particular order bother me because they're completely redundant.
