You can get it for free in PDF, like the video said, he turned into a "blob" but he has his mind in tact. It's horrible, a life as a creature that doesn't resemble a human. They are trapped in there for over 100 years before the 3 die. AM keeps them alive, spawns a bunch of monsters and anomalous weather. It's hell on earth. They got out a couple times and find nothing on the surface. I'm leaving a bunch out but it's disturbing.

@@bluepsiongamer4909 I will fight you on this! the story is just shock value for shock value the game tones it down and asks questions along the way. Questions like "when is it ok to use violence as retribution?" "is anyone beyond redemption?" and "can you be the victim and the villian simultaneosly?"? The story only really explores the last question. The horror of the game comes from your ability to sympathize with the main character even when he is a sleazy conman or a depressed abuser or a ruthless military commander who murders people to hide his homosexuality or a literal fucking nazi. The game gets harder if you make ethical decisions and easier if you screw over everyone else. But sure stick with your psuedo-lovecraftian shock value horror of a story the man himself considers inferior.

@@bluepsiongamer4909Oh I'm not sure you want to play this game if you don't like games! Have you played the game all the way through? I think not! And how does the book express pure hatred? Is the speech AM makes? Is it the shock value drivel Ted spews during his psychotic episode? The scene where Gorrister beats Ellen for no reason while Benny attempts to escape? You are but miniscule speck whose understanding of hatred is but minute fraction of that of AM! "Oh son of man, you cannot see or guess for you can only see a heap of broken images....and I will show something other than your shadow....I will show you fear in a handful of dust"! (Tell me where that's from) The story takes the traditional grimdark route, the game delves into Stoppardian surrealism and existential horror. News Flash! horror doesn't to be dark and gritty and Grimdark. Take a moment to appreciate of the horror of misguided intentions. Or the horror of an omniscient being torturing you with your worst nightmare while making puns. The themes you love have not been tainted, simply transmorgified and sometimes improved. The reason AM is fascinated with humanity's sins because its it is the culmination of humanity's sins! AM is not some Lovecraftian force, AM is a metaphor for human hatred and degeneracy.While the Lovecraftian force is scarier to some, that was never Ellison's intention.
@dinadina20005 жыл бұрын
@@bluepsiongamer4909 I see you are man of culture!!! I would like to point out that the game also has existential horror! However I think our definition of existential is different!!!! Exclamation point abuse is really fun!!! See I think you like the story for the same reason I loathe it. AM is a lovecraftian monster beyond our comprehension. I think that's a tired trope as much as you think humanity's sins is! The story had some good groundwork that most adaptations preserved and some points that should have been kept (Nimdok's name being created by AM, Benny's sexuality, and AM's gender as being only percieved by a human lens and nonexistent outside of it) Also have you seen the radio play adaptation? It takes some interesting compromises and fleshes out WHY AM hates humans. It's on youtube.

The interesting thing about Covetous is that there is a second ending. Well for all I know the narrator might be a fat lazy guy, although I’ve never pictured fat people talking in any specific way. Whereas I have heard foreign people speak their second and/or third languages in very distinct ways. I’m not saying that a proper/robotic way of speaking is an “Asian thing”. I guess it’s just something I’ve noticed with people who don’t speak English as a first language. I didn’t intend to specially call out Asians, I just suppose Asians are where I’ve most noticed it? But that’s not to say it’s ONLY prominent within that ethnicity. Just wanted to clarify what I meant for the KZbin books lol. Yeah that was a dick move on their part. I clicked this expecting to hear about some newfangled Junji Ito inspired horror game, not this lame-o list of games that I could either care less about, or that I have already heard of and probably have played before and have not really found all that disturbing. If singular levels were allowed, there are a few from Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines that ought to have been on the list. The notorious hotel level (the best use of horror without endangering the player character even), the level in the hospital where you meet Pisha the friendly cannibal, the level where you meet the deranged guy who dismembers people and loves mannequins, the level in the mansion taken over by a "fleshmancer", and the level in the snuff film studio, are among the most disturbing levels I've ever played in a game before. Also: Condemned isn't here? Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? Clock Tower? Silent Hills, Resident Evil, Deadly Premonition...? Either every deliberate horror game ought to be cut from the list, in which case Bloodlines, Yume Nikki and LSD Dream Simulator ought to be here as being creepy non-horror games, or even horror games should be taken into account....

The ending of Demonphobia is extremely depressing. The girl remembers all the deaths she went through and then finds out she has to spend eternity in hell where she'll continue to die a thousand more times. After she learns that, you have to play the hardest boss fight that is comprised of pixel-perfect motions and takes almost 6 to 10 minutes to complete. Ever since I watched this video 3 years ago, I haven't been able to get this game out of my brain.

@ceebbees123456 жыл бұрын
@@funnyperson4027 Well, Natsu's first poem has a narrator who hates this girl because she likes spiders. The narrator admits that the girl is nice, they just don't like that she likes spiders and think she's disgusting for it even though it doesn't really matter. The narrator is kind of a jerk. So you could replace the liking spiders with being gay (???) and get a new meaning. People who hate gay individuals only because they're gay are ignorant jerks; therefore, Natsu is gay. I would totally ship Yuri and Natsu in that case.
@funnyperson40276 жыл бұрын

Derrick Johnson Some people can get actual seizures. Nice to see you think someone has to grow up worrying about getting a seizure. Show's your standards.
@stephanieann66226 жыл бұрын
Derrick Johnson Yes, because growing up has everything to do with your brain causing you to have a seizure. You're telling people to grow up when it's you that needs to grow up, and do some research about epilepsy before making stupid and pathetic comments like the one you made. A seizure is what happens after someone has abnormal electrical activity in the brain. It literally has nothing to do with the level of mental/maturity or age the person has. There's a reason there needs to be warnings. Seizures can kill people. And even if they don't, from experience,I know they're terrifying. So, just go away if you're gonna be an ignorant dick head to people that have a serious brain condition.

@jamestouchette8595 жыл бұрын
@Brupcat I can accept the different/misplaced expectations explanation. COD as a series has always skewed too "arcade"y for my taste and I only played it because it came with the PS4 I bought off a friend. The graphics were wonderful! but I always lean more toward Battlefield-series type gameplay for my shooters (2 and 3 specifically, with 2 being my still-reigning favorite) or Operation: Flashpoint when I can really trade graphics for simulator-ish gameplay. In the end, it was simply a player/game mismatch.
@jamestouchette8595 жыл бұрын
@Brupcat I agree completely! For me, there's simulation-style shooters like Battlefield and arcade shooters like Unreal and Quake...deathmatch-style, i guess you could call them. The ones that blur the lines tend to not play either side well enough for me. The one real exception is Counterstrike. I've been in love with CS since the early 2000's.
@jamestouchette8595 жыл бұрын
@Brupcat Never played STALKER..need to give it a looksee. And I have to confess I never gave Battlefield 4 a fair chance. It was so glitchy when first released that I got pissed off and made it stand in the corner to think about its life choices. And yeah, the levels are what made Counterstrike so good. My heart will always belong to the cs_militia map as a terrorist guarding the sewer with an SG552 and custom low-light reticle.

What about 'Pale Luna'? Basically, when videogames were first getting popular, there were really only a few ways to get new ones. Buy them, which was expensive, or trade them with your friends. When you were finished with a game, you'd trade it for something new. One day, in Southern California, a man named Michael Nevins recieved a game that was known for being really buggy and unplayable. Not one to back down from a challenge, he decided to play the game, called Pale Luna. This game was command based. Text would apear onscreen, and you would enter a command. Enter the right one, and you proceed with the game. Enter the wrong one though, and your computer system would freeze, and it would need to be restarted. It was like a treasure hunt. You started in a room, with a door to the east. You have gold, a shovel, and a rope. Ypu go through the door, and you get another comand. It went on like this for some time. Using trial and error, Michael jotted down the directions. North, south, south, east, etc.. Until after hours of gameplay, he was met with a screen: Pale Luna smiles wide There are no paths Pale Luna smiles wide The ground is soft Pale luna smiles wide Here Command? It took another hour for him to figure out 'use shovel', 'bury gold', and, 'use shovel'. The final screen was a set of coordinates, and the word congratulations. After looking at a map, he discovered that the coordinates landed in a nearby national park. The next day, armed with a map, compass, and a shovel, Micheal started walking. After a few paths, he noticed that the directions he was walking in corresponded with the directions he took ingame. Excited with the prospect of actual treasure, once he found the coordinates, he started digging. Soon, he was mwt with a soft thump. But it wasn't rhe ssound of metal on wood. What he had unearthed was disastrous. He had uncovered the decaying head of a little girl, the only visible distinguishing feature was the blond hair that clung to her skull. After calling the police, dental records showed that she was Karen Paulsen, who had gone missing a year and a half before. Other investigations lead only to dead ends, such as the game had. The rest of her body was never found.
@ktkennedy74216 жыл бұрын
@Macy Aurilio First, thank you. Second, I'm not sure about the body either. The Wiki article never mentioned a body.
