Finally some decent ides, definitely going to use the slang on, but scottish slang. Im also gonna modify it a bit for another one "teach me Gaelic", scottish gaelic is an endangered language and people already ask me to teach them words on stream so hopefully making it a channel point reward will prompt people to ask more often and I can do a bit more towards repopularising my countries language :) Thank you so much for these ideas!

There's a couple redeems I just added that I'm really proud of. One of them is just 1 channel point but's meant for community engagement. It's called story time and basically I turn it on at a random point in the stream, and not every stream so it's a surprise. Once it's redeemed I tell a story from my life. That story could be real or fake and after I'm done telling it I run a prediction thing get chat to bet on whether it was true or false. The other one is a "pump me up" redeem where I switch to a new scene with like background music and I give the redeemer a short motivational speech.

Very glad to see someone finally talk about channel points. I really like your tips and creative ideas! I spent quite some time thinking about funny and original rewards for my stream. (Even creating original icons and Mini-Intros when someone claims them) But the best thing about those rewards is, that they help you to entertain your audience. I, sometimes struggle to be funny or entertaining for like 100% of the time and when those rewards get claimed, it‘s always a cheap but very effective way to entertain yourself and the people watching and I‘m very thankful for that! :D My most liked rewards so far are „Random Reward“ - where they have the chance to get a random channel points reward or even a game key and „One_Time_Clean“ - where I have to clean my room for 1 minute xD But keep up your good work man, looking forward to your next videos!

Me personally, I like subtle enhancements. For example: I took the already existing "Highlight My Message" redeem and added some functionality to it, so that now the message will be displayed on screen via a visual alert and will also be read out loud by a text-to-speech voice. It's a nice way for people to directly interact with your stream, and to grab your attention should you be that person who tends to miss a lot of chat messages by accident (even if they were highlighted in the regular fashion). I also have two other redeems that make me put on a voice changer effect for about 5 minutes (easily achievable with free OBS audio filter plugins) as well as a "No Cursing" mode where I have to keep it family friendly for a certain amount of time. Of course, this all depends on your own kind of personality, so if you were never the swearing type of guy to begin with, this won't do you any good. So I guess before even looking into possible rewards, as a streamer you should look into yourself and what makes you *YOU* so that you can take that as a base for things. Anyways, thanks for the video and some fantastic ideas! :)

Thanks eljay,... so a few days since I first watched this and now returning to let you know how its going... ive had my simracing stream including those I was on discord with make me sing for 5mins (Whilst driving a race car in VR around a race track), and then silence me for 5mins whilst they are on discord laughing there asses off about essentially taking over the stream. Much hilarity was had as they knew I was crying on the inside, the talking thing comes perhaps too easy for me :D My biggest supporter the wife (who you advised are good people to have on your side and help out early on) already topped out and redeemed the giant 35k channel point goal to choose the game stream and has made me purchase sims4 to stream in the future during my any game day. With her and my regulars all laughing there asses off,... Community wise, since my New years fitness res was to use beat saber daily and stream it, the community goal is titled 'beat saber death' and is to make me play an entire stream in expert+ difficulty, now given I tend to die after attempting 1 single song in expert plus my amazing viewers are of course already now over 66% completed of the goal.... I've created a channel point reward I call announce yourself that I'm super proud of. Using lioranboard, I've made it so that when someone presses it a short clip pops up on screen. If it's the first time that they press it a "welcome, you must be new, it's nice to have you" video of me pops up, each future time a video saying "welcome back, I'm glad you're here" comes up. But what makes it really cool and what my viewers love is that I've made it so that they can provide me with their own clips / sound bites / etc. And then if they've done so I've set it up so that when they announce themselves their unique clip plays instead. People love to come by and announce themselves, and once they have it's super easy for me to strike up a conversation with them. Ive also added a new channel point called "Create a 'high quality' announcement for me" which if they redeem instead of a clip they provide, I'll make them one for them using a green screen and they're intentionally bad :p I've also got one more that my viewers like cause they like my dog, it's called "Loki cam" and it turns on a camera over my dogs dog bed for 10 seconds. They love it :p Eljay, I'm not saying but I'm just saying, if you want your own announcement, you just let me know ;)

You can mix things up by adding sound effects to redeems and reactions that can be redeemed by each viewer once per stream. Things such as 'Likes the stream' if you started streaming on a different platform then moved to twitch. It could be redeemed for as little as 1 point so it doesn't take up a lot of their points to do it.

Great video! I've been looking for reward ideas as a new affiliate. One I've done for my tabletop RPG streams, are to let the redeemer choose the result of the next die roll. It can be targeted to a specific player, which makes it cost more, or just the next appropriate die roll. I also made rewards to let them either introduce something making the current situation more difficult, or easier (making it harder is cheaper of course!) I'm also a new father, and my streams generally occur while I'm on late night baby duty. So I added a reward to put up the baby cam on stream for a few minutes. Will probably change to cat cam when he gets older.

Disclaimer: twitch to me is purely a hobby, I have so much fun playing and chatting live with the small few that actually watch me and it’s such an exhilarating feeling, this may be different to a more dedicated and hard core streamer. A lot of my channel niches (see my profile pic) are based around my cat, I love him a lot, my community loves him too. Whenever I’m home (not often) I try and include a “catcam” point redeem when if it’s redeemed I’ll drop whatever it is I’m doing and go to find my cat and stick him on camera. It’s always entertaining and who doesn’t love to see a cute fluffy companion every now and then? If you have pets on your own maybe try it out sometimes to treat your viewers :)

Here's an idea for streamers who are not natively English, or streamers who speak multiple languages: Stream in a different language for a certain amount of time. In my case I called it "Praat Nederlands met me", in reference to a song title, which forces me to stream in Dutch for 5 minutes. It's pretty popular in my channel, even though most of my audience does not speak a word Dutch. Another fun one is "Flip the controller", which is exactly what it sounds like. Yes, I also flip mouse and keyboard when I play a pc game. Pro-tip: For the love of all that is holy, put a cooldown on this puppy, or someone may force you to stream with your controller upside down for 36 minutes while you were already ending the stream.

With the "Timeout" redeems - I don't really get it either, but my chat is full of gremlins, and they adore it. XD I made a "Timeout Yourself" redeem (self-explanatory), a "Timeout Another Viewer" (this can be turned down if used to bully someone, but I've yet to see that), and a "Timeout Me, Not Them!" redeem, for when someone is feeling altruistic and wants to save a victim of the previous two redeems. I'm beginning to order various different things to start my stream, and in the meantime I've been watching your videos, which you're able to make quite entertaining. Using some of your tips, I was able to come up with two original (to my knowledge) channel point ideas. one was to after finishing my current game play dinosaur run (the google Easter egg for when internet goes down), and have the viewers make an over/under prediction for my top score after 3 tries. IDK if this is okay though, as it may be copyrighted. I also came up with one where the viewer gives me two synonyms, and I have to explain the difference between them (for example, the difference between ecstatic and euphoric) in terms of connotation or usage in everyday language. Please let me know if either of these work!

On one channel I follow, a few of us suggested adding a "only speak in puns for two minutes". It hasn't been implemented yet, but the streamer did seem on-board with the idea. I don't know if I can have channel points yet, since I'm not an affiliate yet, but I could see myself doing something similar, like "Only speak Danish for two minutes", since Danish is my native language and I find it strangely awkward so I use English the vast majority of the time on stream...

I got my twitch affiliate contract about 2 weeks ago, I've only been streaming for 2 months and have been really wracking my brain on taking that plunge into being twitch affiliate, I'd really like to know your stance on how you view the affiliate contract. I know not everyone agrees as Harris Heller says do take it and Devin Nash says don't take it. But that aside!! Your videos have helped me out so much and I love all these ideas for points. Thank you so much for everything!

I watched Devins video so this covers a few of the points he talks about and why I slightly disagree. I also REALLY respect Devin, I think a lot alike to him except my focus is more on the social side of Twitch. Affiliate is great, it is a cancel any time agreement as Devin says, and it gives you access to tools like Channel Points, which are great for engaging new chatters... which is the opposite to what he says. Blaming a tool for not being engaging isn't quite right, if you use points properly they can be HUGE. Did you know when someone follows they get a small amount of channel points and twitch recommends them the cheapest redeem you have? Which I have set to "Say Hi! I Am New! *wave*" and it has been a MASSIVE increase in new chatter engagement. It also unlocks Hype trains, Hype trains which put you on the homepage of Twitch, a hype train is only 3 different people each doing 100 bits ($1) or Giftsubs. Devin talks about how you can lose 50/50 cuts with Twitch and the $100 payout, but if you remove the donation button and focus subs/bits for support then you not only reach the $100 easier but have chances to be advertised on the front page of Twitch for $3 at minimum. You unlock emotes, sub badges, and more that can help community build when used right. The only downsides are that affiliate won’t help you straight away, it is a slow build as people find and enjoy the content, then subscribe/support you if the content is good. AND, you aren’t allowed to multistream meaning you can’t go live on multiple platforms at the same time, however most streamers aren’t doing that anyway. There is the stuff about Twitch "owning" your brand but they can't own your brand, they just own the channel and have control over what you broadcast on it. Banning you, or using your content in their marketing, etc. I can't speak too much on that one, but it won't affect you I'd say.

@@StreamScheme thank you so much! I honestly don't think I would've been able to get to the point where I am now even considering this if it wasn't for you, Devin and Harris. Honestly if it wasn't for you guys I don't think I would've even be inspired to become a streamer. I cannot thank you enough!

What I use mine for is Sing along workouts and Longer streams I have to do it on the spot. My legs throat and butt kills me after but I really enjoy it. I know that its special but chat loves it

One channel point that seems to do well on my channel is when I play Just Dance, chat can redeem the 'boyfriend has to dance with me' reward. Bf doesn't like dancing and a few days ago he made me dance to one of my banned songs (also a channel point reward) and then someone in chat helped me take revenge and made him dance with me to a very intense song 😂

hahahaha That is quite funny! Hope the DMCA stuff hasn't been too brutal for Just Dance!

Since my channel is cat themed (cause my name is PumaCatOOHHH...idk i took inspiration from the old Thundercats cartoons) my point rewards are also cat themed. I wear cat ears on stream and one of my rewards is change my ears and they can choose which ears or I can just switch em out. Another reward is Pack Attack where the redeemer chooses who we raid.

For the community challenge, is it a good idea for me to make it something along the lines of "Streaming with my dog" or "Streaming with my lizard". My community seems to love my pets and I think it might be a good way to get them more involved with using their channel points.
@StreamScheme3 жыл бұрын
It can be! Just be prepared to obviously say sometimes "Hey! sorry Dog doesn't want to be part of the stream today!" if it isn't feeling it, I've seen other people be called out for "using" pets which I can understand in some situations.
