Nice work, I'm originally from Alliance OH. We lived in an old brick bungalow and was in some state of remodel for years. I'm in florida now but miss the seasons. I've been fixing up old houses my whole adult life. And have done well with real estate. Just lucky I guess but I had 2 sons that I always paid to help me. Homes and rental properties. I miss those days of working with my boys.

I always wanted to fix up an old property and to have some land. I found this place for about the price of just land since everything was neglected needing repairs. I've jumped in both feet staying committed, definitely taking longer than expected but I keep chipping away. Thanks for watching, I'm sure your boys cherish those memories aswell!

You are one hard working man. Great job on all that cleanup and I'm looking forward to seeing how that kitchen comes out. Since those live edge rafters with the shims have held up for at least a hundred years or more, I'm sure there's no structural issues. Keep up the work.

@@jfrost77hd well that's what my wife thought too he's nuts one Sunday morning after church I knock the chimney off the house and I started cutting the roof off. That was 25 years ago maybe more now. But something had to be done cuz the house was real bad I only paid $19 for it in the late seventies. But it's got about a third of an acre and if that time it butted up to a railroad line that went to a lumber yard. That's gone now they took it out and made a running trail or walking trail goes up into Michigan and down into Notre Dame and then toward Indiana. Well she said if you're going to do this we better go get a giant tarp cuz it's bound to rain once we get this roof cut off. And it sure did took all summer when all the way to the ground and started fresh and went straight up and build a two-story under the big tarp. Had a lot of help from the kids in the neighborhood though... Best of luck on your build........

just an idea but you could box in those beams that have the live edge with some rough cut boards to make them look like a larger beam.

Get your double-pane Argon windows set in the living space (room) you're going to use. Buy STRAIGHT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I recommend the one in Lindsberg, Kansas> Columbia Windows & Doors. Don't know if they still do, but used to have a deal you can buy 10 windows for $1000. Standard sizes. Double-pane, Argon filled, tilt in to clean panes. Most places those babies are $240+
