Love it. Really enjoying a budget build, me personally I get so excited seeing OG shark noses on the street, I would do it too but I would love to see the exterior all original with the shark nose, skirts and original tail lights. I’m 40 and first 180 I owed was in 1999, crazy to think the thing was only 4 years old at the time. I’ve owed over 20 since and now have my ultimate but man I do love a OG looking 200kw 180, so much fun to drive. Can’t wait to watch your reaction when your driving it the first time. The emotion of you both is what keeps me coming back, wasn’t overly a fan until the S30 and watching you talk about the motor being out and left in Japan, that emotion is what made me a fan. Guessing 2 more weeks, 2 more episodes for us but I know your enjoying it now. Hope it’s all you were hoping for .

Nice to see you guys revisit the S13. Hope this time you'll keep developing it instead of abandoning it ;) Just a free tip; the S13's stock brakes aren't even enough for stock power. Z32 brakes are a MASSIVE upgrade for the stock setup and is as plug and play as you can get. If you want to stay 4 stud, you could drill the discs for 4 stud quite easily.

Marty is right about S13s being sold in the US as the 240SX. You got the Silvia and the 180SX body, but only the 2.4L engine was available for it. Although the SR-20DE was available in the US, it was only used in front wheel drive applications (Think Sentra / Sunny in SE-R trim). The SR-20DET was never approved by the US government even though the purpose of the engine was to meet new emissions regulations that the CA-18 was no longer capable of meeting. I guess they didn't want Nissan spanking the domestics on the street. My friend was already embarrassing people in his SE-R back in 1993. An S13 with the SR20DET would have been a serious threat to the unsuspecting.

Couple of things I do on top, 5 stud conversion using R33 Gtst Brakes, R33 GTR wheels (best looking rims hands down for a 180sx) and pivot lazy eye controller

Ah, the finer points of sway bars. And I like your new setup, seems like a fancy way to combine new and old school. Good point for kids, though, ...with older cars, change at least the end link bushings first before doing anything else, a lot of them have become like ricochet biscuits by now, if original, and may actually be making the car (or stock sways) feel a lot worse than they are, by causing wheels to kind of 'hop' together or make the shocks unable to do their thing properly. In general it's safe to go ahead and put aftermarket poly end links of any moderate character in instead, and adjust tension a bit from there as you learn. Center bushings, if they're the old saddle kind, you can do at any convenience, and to my experience, fresh rubber ones are actually fine, and may last longer and possibly give you less harshness about it than poly ones, but you can go either way as you learn to feel things out. With very old type cars, and like live axles, there's a lot of meat on the bone for improving over factory, and I found it a great way to learn the finer points of feeling the vehicle. (Also when I was like 17 I had the benefit of old guys at a spring shop just asking me what kind of driving I intended and they set up my leaf springs wonderfully. This is a place it really pays to call on expertise as you go, so you'll not be making big random moves and confusing your own learning process.) (Also, lads, loving to see the 180 build, I think you have the same spirit in mind as I'd do if I got hold of a nice one. And, yeah, the numbers and letters designations of different models were different in America. Where I think we're getting better about international names for parts of cars, but I'm still a bit shaky on translating kilowatts to horsepower. :) )
